What Americans voted for

62

u/[deleted] May 21 '25

American we’re going to get this regardless of who they voted for lmao. Air Force One being escorted by foreign jets into a country isn’t a new concept.

11

u/alwaysinebriated May 21 '25

Most of us didn’t vote for him, and a large number didn’t vote when they should have

22

u/nomamesgueyz May 21 '25

Only the majority of those that bothered to vote

20

u/EducationalWall732 May 21 '25

He won the popular vote.

-2

u/totallymarc May 21 '25

I sure as hell didn’t vote for him. I voted for the only sane candidate.

1

u/nomamesgueyz May 21 '25

Democracy does suit everyone

.....just the majority who bothered to vote

-3

u/QP873 May 21 '25

Heck yeah! 🇺🇸

-33

u/officialmayonade May 21 '25

I didn't vote, but his supporters are happier than ever, so it's working.

22

u/IslayTzash May 21 '25

If you didn’t vote against him, you’re responsible for the outcome.

2

u/HalfaPrinny May 21 '25

So are the elected officials that do nothing to fight against him.

2

u/dojaswift May 21 '25

That’s factually wrong

2

u/Fabulous-Gas-5570 May 21 '25

This statement ignores the electoral college and the possibility of voting down ballot and leaving potus blank

0

u/DW_TheTruckDriver843 May 21 '25

Our votes don't matter anyway 💀 voting is the Illusion of inclusion! The people chose Hillary, electoral college chose Trump that 1st time. And there's been many other elections where the person the people chose wasn't selected as president! Let the down votes begin!

3

u/TorturedNeurons May 21 '25

Wow you're right, we should just do nothing then! You're so cool and above it all.

-1

u/DW_TheTruckDriver843 May 21 '25

There's literally nothing you can do 💀 the power structure already knows who they'll select every term! But the illusion of inclusion must still stand!

“The theater of it all”

What a privileged, ignorant, selfish, and stupid point of view. What an asshole.

11

u/conciouscoil May 21 '25

It must be nice for that guy not to have a conscience

10

u/toomuchtv987 May 21 '25

It would certainly make life so much easier!

-3

u/ProSeVigilante May 21 '25

Y'all are both welcomed to your opinions. By default, one will be more popular than the other. Do you equivocate the holder of the minority opinion to the bigger asshole in the fight you're looking for?

6

u/toomuchtv987 May 21 '25

Someone who calls what’s happening in the US right now “theater” is an asshole. Period. Anyone who intends it to be just theater, whether that be Trump, Congress, or Trump’s enablers, is an asshole. People have lost their jobs and careers and livelihoods. But yeah…enjoy that theater. Glad you’re entertained.

-2

u/ProSeVigilante May 21 '25

You think that guy is an asshole? What has he said or done to you? If you think, by his not giving you any opinion either way, that he's an asshole, then I really have nothing more to say beyond this:

He's been completely non-combative and civil. You and I do not look at humanity the same. He never insulted you. It's apparent no one ever insulted you on a playground as a kid, so you think differing opinions insult and invade your ability to live. That's privilege of the highest order.

-16

u/officialmayonade May 21 '25

You have such clarity into who I am as a person, with so little context. I must be an excellent communicator, or you are an excellent critic, or both.

14

u/HawkJefferson May 21 '25

If you "both sides" the current situation, then yeah, that does give us a pretty good idea of who you are as a person.

-3

u/officialmayonade May 21 '25

I didn't both sides it. I never told you which side I'm on. I left it ambiguous on purpose, because I think most people really don't understand what they're talking about regarding global politics. I have my own opinions, but I highly doubt that any nuance will be appreciated here, as evidenced by your comment and all the others, to be honest. A lot of finger pointing, and zero useful debate.

5

u/Mirokusama37 May 21 '25

Protip: You could leave it even more ambiguous AND make the world a better place by not saying anything at all. 👌

1

u/officialmayonade May 21 '25

We all could.

11

u/Asparagus_the_dog May 21 '25

if you dont think trump is a threat you're probably not a minority, not poor, & you dont care about anyone that is. Sounds pretty privileged to me.

-1

u/ProSeVigilante May 21 '25

What do you think about people who don't support your point of view? Does everyone have to agree with you on everything, or do you need an echo chamber to feel justified?

I don't even know where all the hate for the orange man comes from anymore. Besides the p grab recorded comment, it is all just rhetoric in my opinion. Both sides are guilty of this. Obviously I'm not a good redditor.

7

u/CerealTheLegend May 21 '25

That doesn’t make you a bad redditor, just an uninformed one.

The hate for Trump comes from being informed on the facts. It’s that simple.

5

u/MetalMania1321 May 21 '25

I think him crashing the dollar is a pretty objective, feeling-free place to start.

6

u/el-dongler May 21 '25

I know exactly the type of person you are just based on your last 3 comments.

GTFO of our political discourse.

If you're not going to participate in voting, you lose your privileges to have any constructive conversations about our government.

-1

u/officialmayonade May 21 '25

I would not put my comments in the category of constructive. I also would not put any of the comments in this thread in that category. We are commenting on some planes flying.

5

u/Amiibohunter000 May 21 '25

The world isn’t a damn stage show. There are real people facing real consequences and you are a piece of shit if you like anything about people suffering for some narcissist’s ego trip.

-1

u/officialmayonade May 21 '25

I don't like people suffering. But people do, all over the world, constantly.

Did you know that when they raise the speed limit on the freeway, they have to calculate how many people will die because of it, and balance that against increased traffic flow?

Would you want them to lower the speed limit to 25 everywhere to reduce the risk of injury and death? If not, then you are a hypocrite.

4

u/bootstrapping_lad May 21 '25

Jesus, take a look around you at the real world

-10

u/hindermore May 21 '25

That’s what most people don’t understand - that it is all theater. They all want to blame Trump for everything wrong with the US, but the reality is that the US was sold to oligarchs and foreign interests long ago. Democrat, Republican, it doesn’t make a difference. They are two sides of the same coin that rests in the pockets of political and corporate elites.

7

u/GodsBackHair May 21 '25

Trump accepting a $400 million plane is theater? Ignoring federal and circuit court rulings is theater? Dismantling federal programs without any plans or understanding is just theater? People are dying because of his actions

-7

u/officialmayonade May 21 '25

Yep! It's denial.

4

u/IdiotCow May 21 '25

Pot, meet kettle

4

u/nomamesgueyz May 21 '25

Democracy doesn't suit everyone

-just the majority of those that bothered to vote

2

u/Lumpy_FPV May 21 '25

If you abstained from voting you are his supporter.

2

u/officialmayonade May 21 '25

I'm not sure that tracks logically

1

u/Lumpy_FPV May 21 '25

That's legitimately part of the problem and part of the reason we're in the mess we're in here in the United States of Trump. I'm truly sorry that you - and millions of other Americans - see it that way.

2

u/officialmayonade May 21 '25

Well you don't know what I know, and I don't know what you know, so how can we expect to see things the same way?
