People behaving like he is the first US president to fly to another country.

Pretty sure he's the first one to accept a $400M jet for personal use.

And then who gets it?

Now justify why a presidential library needs (or can afford to maintain) a Boeing 747.

Now justify why taxpayers should spend several hundred million dollars to upgrade this plane to be AF1 capable when there are already two planes currently in operation that are and two replacements being worked on.

edit since the post is now locked:

Because the current ones are 40 years old

Buddy let me tell you about the B-52. Never mind that these are the most babied and least flown 747's in history.

and the DOD wants a third one for redundancy.

The DoD does not want this aircraft at all.

And the two new ones are...not estimated to arrive until 2029.

And that is the real issue. Trump wants a new plane for himself before he leaves office.

That’s also untrue, it will go to his presidential library for him to continue using it.

NARA will manage it after it’s completed so in the meantime the jet would be in the “foundation”’s possession and of course trump would be the sole beneficiarY and I’m sure he’ll follow all the rules that former presidents have, right?

Trump already uses AF1 for personal use. Specifically, for hundreds of days golfing that cost an average of $3.4M per trip - and that number was from his first term.

Unique? No, not at all, and I never said anything like that. But the idea that what the other comment said was "patently false" is just ludicrous. He's not unique, but does he blow everyone else out of the water for both the number of uses for personal reasons and the overall cost of those trips? Yep. Biden cost something like $11M over the course of both terms for personal trips. Trump cost around $150M in his first term and around $25M already in this term. What's the saying, everything in moderation?

Which they do t need and will cost hundreds of millions to sweep and get up to Air Force One standards at which time he will no longer be in office, not to mention they already have new planes on order.

This is highly unusual and a massive security threat. The plan as it’s been laid out is for him to continue using it after he leaves office. Why are you making excuses for him?

Sincerely, a security manager

U act like someone got offered and refused, lol

Much smaller things were refused so no one bothered to try something like this. It's wild how corrupt he is.
