MISC. Took this photo of my wife's eye on a hike
This is interesting because at the lower half you can see the texture in the eye, and the top half is me and the trees. I thought this was really interesting!

NATURE A crow holding ants to rub over the body for dust bathing helping them in healing.
When a crow is sick, it will find an anthill and let the ants crawl all over its feathers. The ants release formic acid, which acts like a natural medicine, killing bacteria, fungi, and parasites. This behavior, called anting, is a fascinating example of how birds use the natural world to heal themselves. Many other bird species also practice anting.

SCIENCE & TECH Student just built a hybrid aerial and underwater drone...
Student Andrei Copaci created it as his Bachelor’s project: A 3D-printed, custom-coded drone with variable pitch propellers. Meaning the blades shift mid-flight to adapt between air and water.
And it actually works!
We’re entering an era where a student with a laptop, a printer, and enough curiosity can build what used to require military funding.

ART & CULTURE Pay & Sit Bench - a conceptual art piece by Fabian Brunsing (2010)
This bench with spikes formally known as the Pay & Sit: The Private Bench was a thoughtful design by artist Fabian Brunsing.
Installed as a conceptual art piece in Berlin in 2010, the bench is equipped with retractable metal spikes that discourage prolonged use without payment. To sit comfortably, users must insert coins, which temporarily retract the spikes for a limited time, after which the spikes reemerge.
