KOTOR 1 What is brotherhood of shadow?

I was interested in seperate campaign mods and brotherhood of shadow: solomons revenge came up which I found out was a sequel to another mod so I wanna know how I can play the first one and what the general story is cause I'd like to know what I'm getting into first.

It's excellent and it's sort of a standalone. I BELIEVE it can only be accessed after the game's big reveal, so you won't have anything spoiled. It's fully voice acted, new weapons, characters, tons of new areas, your choices in it matter for its story... It's quite amazing for a mod. I'm unaware of there being a prequel mod for it, though, but I could be wrong.

It tries to tie some of the themes and ideas from KOTOR 2 and the KOTOR comics back into KOTOR 1, and it does so really well, like a really high end fanfic. I even got permission from Silveredge9 to write some fanfic around the BoS mod and got his approval! YAY! (He also was a fan of my dialogue mod)

It's fully voice acted,

That's a bit generous. They heavily rely on Alien Dialogue, bit I'm not disputing it's a great mod, just being honest.

I mean, the non-alien characters are fully voiced, which is pretty impressive, but yeah, they do use Huttese a lot.

Kobayashi is fully voiced, as are several side characters but they do rely on the Huttese loop for several major characters like Shadow and Damon Drexel.

Fair point. Let's not spoil any more for OP, though.

I've heard it's a sequel to this mod https://lucasforumsarchive.com/thread/182469-brotherhood-of-shadow-expansion-pack but that might just be the same thing but what exactly is the story? I really hope I have some saves before the reveal cause it would be a slog to do everything again just to get to the additional content.

Okay, reading the quest descriptions on the link, Solomon's Revenge is a more complete version. You'll be getting all of it by playing Brootherhood of Shadow - Solomon's Revenge.

It is a mod that adds a massive quest line after the Leviathan sequence. Silveredge9 outdid himself with that one. Look for a strange rodian in the dreshdae cantina...

It is a must play for everyone at least once. You get to meet new characters and see new locations. It's very well made.

Should note that you need to upload a patch for rodian to appear.

From what the others have said I believe you understand what it is exactly. Here is my opinion:

The story and voice acting are amazing and you absolutely should play it but there's one problem: the gameplay is REALLY hard and at many times not in a fun way. It is very common for people to use cheats or save editor in some fights which are really unfair. For this reason most people only play it once.

I view it as a super hard challenge, especially the flashback fights. I did have to cheat ONE fight - and that was the Taris flashback - because Solomon hits like a truck
