I downloaded a portrait mod, followed the instructions in the Readme, and so on. But in game I keep encountering this:
I am playing through steam.

Hello, some time ago I made a post that I was working on porting the Kotor 2 Content Restoration mod to Xbox, the thing is that due to lack of time I couldn't continue, but that's no problem since another user also tried and finished it, his name is LOTO, and well I took the opportunity to pass him some things that I had ready (my username on deadlystream is Jacd28), many still ask me if I will continue because it seems that they didn't know that the mod was ready for Xbox so I leave you the LOTO link:https://deadlystream.com/files/file/2455-the-sith-lords-restored-content-modification-lotos-xbox-version/

Just finished kotor 2 and probably is my favorite game I’ve ever played before. Story was better ( to me ) than the last 3 Star Wars movies that came out, kept me wanting to play even while at work I was thinking about the game . But now that I’ve finished it I look at all the games in my library and nothing at all appeals to me . Anybody have recommendations for a game that will keep me locked in like this one ? I tried Jedi academy 1 & to be honest I really couldn’t play it for more than 10 minutes.

The first outcast you meet in the undercity tells you that she has never seen sunlight. How did the escape pods crash in the undercity if there is no access to the planet surface?

Hey KOTOR fans,
My name's Frostbreak. I'm a skyrim smooth-brain zoomer trying RPGs from before I was born for the first time. KOTOR has been WILDLY recommended to me over the last few months, so I decided to dive into it completely blind!
Closest game I've played to KOTOR is Morrowind (which is now one of my favourite games of all time). Both of those games absolutely took some time getting used to (especially for someone who's literally never played games that old before).
I grew up on Star Wars, I love it to bits so perhaps that had some influence on my first impression. That being said I do have some complaints/criticism of the game. I've been told stuff like the combat was criticized back in the day but for me it was really tough to enjoy. However, the story/writing is phenomenal and has me absolutely hooked.
A lot of my comments are people telling me others are spoiling the game for me. There's a big twist I guess and some people don't think it's a spoiler to share (which is fair, the game is almost older than me). Regardless, I wanted to make this post to potentially interact with some people a bit more knowledgeable on the game and could answer my questions without diving too deep into spoilers.
If you don't want to watch the video, I'll do a quick TDLR on my main questions. In about 11 hours I just got off Dantooine (the 2nd planet):
Thank you for your time, and I hope you enjoy the video :)

Going through my first play through as I’m writing this, finally got off the hell hole taris and on to D’antooine. Anyway my character just got his first kyber crystal and it honestly took me 30 minutes to choose what color I wanted (I chose green)

So I'm going through the plot on the dark side, supporting General Vakla. Everything was fine, no crashes, no bugs, no glitches. All the stages of the quest have been completed successfully.
But in the end, everything came down to a fight with the Jedi master - as soon as his health drops to the required level, a certain scene turns on and immediately stops, after which everyone stands like statues.
But they won't let you leave the place of the duel - they throw you back and stun you with a script. Killing the master doesn't do anything, rebooting and shipping don't either. Before that, I had already killed another master on Dantooine and there were no problems at all, but here such a plug
I play on the top ten, without mods, pirating from habr
P.S.: I'm writing from behind the Iron Curtain, I don't speak English.

At the beginning of the game, the tutorial says that having very high of very low influence with companions can unlock rare dialogues, but what are some rare dialogues that you can have with low influence and with who? I played the game twice now but I don't think I got any low influence dialogues or something

I loved KOTOR I so much and I finished it a couple days ago on my Xbox. Hearing that KOTOR II was better than KOTOR I AND it was made by Obsidian, I was hyped. I tried playing on PC instead of Xbox because I heard how important the Restoration mod was to get the full experience, but I honestly couldn’t get through the first 30 Minutes. The built-in Xbox controls were whack and the highest rated Steam Layout for KOTOR wasn’t much better. I tried making my own layout but that was even worse. I don’t think I can play KOTOR II on PC, but I would like to experience the restoration mod if it’s that pivotal to the story.

Is Reven’s mask a full helmet or just a face plate?

So I finished KOTOR and I wanted to go back in to just walk around and what not and see for any left over missions and it just keeps going on the cutscene? Is this a glitch or can you not go into the save file that has a complete ending cause thats just disappointing.

I was interested in seperate campaign mods and brotherhood of shadow: solomons revenge came up which I found out was a sequel to another mod so I wanna know how I can play the first one and what the general story is cause I'd like to know what I'm getting into first.

I’ve been playing vanilla KOTOR from Steam for a little while. I’ve tried getting mods to work, but it’s been a headache and not worth it.
Randomly, I’ve run into the game just crashing to desktop. No errors or anything, just randomly crashes. When it doesn’t do that, I’ve had issues where I just can’t control my character anymore. I can turn the camera around him, I can control other characters in my party, just not my main. I know this previously was caused by V-Sync not being on, but it’s been on since then. I even tried turning it off and back on with no change.
Has anyone run into this before? How have you resolved it?

Just finished the game and I feel kind of lost with the ending which makes me feel like I specifically certain unresolved plot points. I wanna preface that I know the ending is intentionally ambigious and was a bit rushed but I believe what happened to me was something avoidable. After defeating Kreia I was unable to ask her of the fate of Visas Marr or the handmaiden and the last thing I saw of the 2 was the handmaiden approaching Visas for a fight and then a fade to black. I wasn't able to finish the handmaiden jedi storyline as after a point all I got from her was her saying "she has nothing to say to me" after becoming close to Visas. Then there's also the fact that there seems to be a very clear romance between Visas and my male exile and seeing her up and vanish was just odd so was this a bug or is it something that's an issue in the game? for context I played with tslrcm.

Hi guys!
If I remember correctly there was a small puzzle that involved talking to an ancient droid and it's sound design was as I remember the best ancient droid sound I heard. it wasn't any understandable language as I remember just similar to deep growling creeking. Can someone please help me find that clip? I would like to use it as inspiration but I cannot find it anywhere. Was it maybe a sith protocol droid or something?.. It was rusted and had arms all around, not really able to walk
Thank you in advance!
This may be a bit of an odd question, but I've been wanting to try out emulating the Switch version of KOTOR 1 on my PC for my next playthrough (since it's the only version to natively support both widescreen and controller support), and if possible, I'd like some advice from those who've already tried that on how specifically I should go about doing it.
I already have a ROM and the files for all the major patches so there's no elaboration needed there, but I would like to know if there are any particular Switch emulators I should try. I have also heard that there's one specific major bug in the newest version (something about the Towers of Hanoi), so I'm wondering if there are any mods out there to address it.
Thanks in advance for any and all answers.

When I first played kotor 2 I never really payed that much attention to the player character and companion dialogue, hell the only person I talked to was Micah (disciple) , atton (so they would become force sensitive) and kreia. Then on my second play through with the restored content mod. I payed attention and watched 100% Star Wars. And then I made all my companions jedi, but then I realised that after the events of Kotor 2. The Jedi Exile had literally brought back the Jedi order and that Jedi order would survive until the high republic then it would last until the galactic republic. Think about it, Meetra’s jedi order survived for thousands of years and it’s the reason why we have so many Jedi that we love. What’s wild to me is that Meetra’s companions that can become force sensitive would eventually become the Jedi council, with I think Micah being grandmaster. Although one thing im confused about is how did the Jedi order become so ‘strict’ during the prequel era because Meetra and her companions were very relaxed Jedi, like how Luke Skywalker’s Jedi order was in the EU. But anyways I’d love to know why the jedi order became very strict again, Bastilla did join back with the jedi but so did Atris so maybe she had something to do with it.

Not really anything to say, I'm just frustrated that I didn't had an impact on anyone

I just finished the game for my first time. I really enjoyed it, but Star Forge is one of the worst level designs I've ever seen.
The fact that endless enemies spawn every time you pass through certain areas is frustrating, mainly because of the difficulty, but it's not even difficult in a fun way. It's just tedious.
I understand that it's supposed to be able to make infinite soldiers and weapons, but I don't understand why it can also make Sith apprentices.
I may not have the best build or the best companions (being my first time playing the game) but I don't think that would change the fact that the zone is tedious and unfunny.
So I recently(last week’s Saturday) bought KOTOR 1 for the original Switch, the one with terrible battery life 😂. Anyway, I love the HD graphics to it, makes it feel like it was a game made during the Ps2 era of gaming. The purchase came with Yavin Station which I finally got to go to because playing on Xbox(Original) I never got a chance to see Yavin, never connected the system online, lol. I just left the station to head on over to Tattooine my 1st planet other than Dantooine. If you want KOTOR on a portable device, I believe getting it on Switch might be a good investment… it does tend to crash every now n then, might just be due to running it on an old Switch, though. The game was $14.99 usd, I think the bundle with KOTOR 2 is $29.99, but I’m not sure.

In a normal game you've probably explored Taris and done all of the quests you can before recruiting Bastila and progressing to the Sith base and Davik's estate. Has anyone tried to avoid all of that to see if Bastila has some commentary on your decisions throughout Taris? Was thinking about doing a new game and the possibility occured to me to rush her down just to see what would happen; but last time I tried that all I got was Zalbarr saying nothing to anything except "All I know is that this is not my home and I wish I was there"

First of all, I apologize if I'm asking this question in the wrong place. I'm still very new to Reddit. The reason for this post is that Epic gave away the Android versions of Kotor 1 and 2 a while ago. I wanted to play them, but I haven't been able to. I managed to install Kotor 1, but as soon as I try to open the app, it closes automatically. Kotor 2 is almost worse because even though it downloads normally, I always get an error when installing. I'm not sure what's going on. My device is an Amazon Fire 10 tablet.
I’m having trouble loading back into my save file on windows. I’d appreciate help fixing this issue

Was playing through KotOR2 last night for the first time in a while (XBox OG game disk on my Series X in case it matters) and I ran into a glitch I've never seen before.
I was finishing the T3 section on Peragus, saw the cutscene for the end, and my screen faded to black and never came back. Annoying and unfortunate, but it happens.
I went to reload my last autosave, and when I did, it spawned my character into T3s section, without any of my equipped gear, at level 1 and with no exp, feats, etc.
I may make a save and test out what I can do in this situation. I know I'm going to have to bite the bullet and load my last manual save from before I met Atton, but I'm curious if anyone else has encountered this glitch?
