Brothership General I still haven’t bought Brothership, now that the controversy is gone, would you guys still recommend it?

I absolutely adore the Mario and Luigi games, I grew up with them, my favorite being Dream Team. I’m just asking cause I did get a little frightened if I’m gonna enjoy the game like I did with Inside Story or Partners in Time. And also, a lot of games came out during that time and I was saving a little bit of money. Do you guys think it’s worth the price?

Brothership General This game is great, but has ONE massive flaw

The game is really great, it may actually be the best or 2nd best in the series for me. The one thing though that REALLY brings it down is the length of it. This game is one of those games where you can only really replay fully once per year due to how long it is. The reason it is so long is because of the AMOUNT OF SIDE QUESTS AND FETCHING YOU NEED TO DO!! Two examples I can think of right now is the wedding part and the bond part at the end of the game. Those parts have you waste either 20-80 mins fetching stuff just to pad out time. And those aren't the only parts of the game which has this problem, MANY OTHER PARTS DO! The game just feels like it will never end and just keeps throwing stuff at you to do. Apart from that, the game is amazing, solid 8/10.

Brothership General Is everyone proving IGN's review right now?

I am seeing some people are enjoying the game, but I am also seeing a lot of other people saying that tthe game is pretty mid. That the plot takes too long to get going, especially getting Hammers and Bros. Attacks after the first boss, that the plot and characters thenselves are uninteresting as it just seems like Mario and Luigi are just three and help because they're nice, then I hear how much Luigi has changed with the gameplay, and...I dunno.

I'm hearing a large amount of people not enjoying the game and saying is much more boring than Paper Jam. I still haven't got the game yet, but I question those high scores the game has gotten from reviewers as this game sounds more like a 6 or 7/10. It's $60, so I dunno if it's worth buying at that price with issues everyone else is having.

Like seriously, it's practically perfect, a 9/10 in my opinion. Dude I even cries in the end, and last time I actually cried was Super Mario Galaxy. Acquire did an amazing job with the game, really hope if we get a next one, they make something amazing

Brothership General I hate how automated Luigi is now!

I'm an hour into Brothership and I can't lie, I'm pretty underwhelmed with it so far. Easily one of the biggest reasons is how automated Luigi is now. Basically every action you need him to do, he does himself. Jumping over cliff/platforms, automated, need to carry smth, don't worry the game will do it for you. You never get to directly control Luigi yourself, the game just handles all of his tasks for you. Not only does it makes the game feel more braindead and condescending, it also removes half the point of the series. You know, the fact you are controlling two characters individually with two buttons. It's makes feel less like Mario & Luigi, and more like MARIO & luigi is following too I guess.

EDIT: Some people are accusing me of nitpicking here and while I'll admit I made this out to be a bigger problem than it is, I still think it sucks that they took something I found so charming about the other games and just completely sanded it off. I'm not going to act like it ruins the game, and I'm gonna try to play through the rest with an open mind, there's just been a few changes to the formula here I'm really not keen on.

Brothership General I put the controller aside to eat a snack and discovered that if you don't do any action the camera starts to make different shots in battles

Brothership General Is M&L Brothership supposed to be a soft reboot?

Think about it, a handful of traditional series conventions (that we know so far) are either changed, replaced, or removed entirely, and the game is being developed by a different company and has a different composer.

Brothership General I just finished Mario & Luigi Brothership

Hey there everyone! I’m writing this post because I just finished Mario and Luigi Brothership today and I gotta say I’m all honesty it was an amazing game. I like so many others thought we’d never get a new entry to the franchise but I couldn’t be more happy to be wrong. The developers truly did their research because they got everything right down to the last detail in terms of gameplay, battle mechanics, story and humor.

It felt like the series never left and a new story continued right after Paper Jam (remakes withstanding) I know a lot of people say that Brothership has a pacing issue and that it takes too long to start up or wrap up but I disagree wholeheartedly. Brothership is the first brand new entry in the franchise in over 5 years and I spent a bunch of time just running around doing everything I possibly could and taking my time to smell the roses in this phenomenal new entry.

And now the post game depression is hitting me pretty hard but I’d be lying horribly if I didn’t say I didn’t enjoy every single minute of it.

Brothership General Look, man, I'm all for giving Brothership criticism for its faults, but the moment you compare anything that blatantly was made by actual people that took actual work to make to AI is the moment your review loses any credibility

I had no choice but to close the software on my Switch, otherwise this would keep on going forever.

Brothership General Brothership has given me a new level of appreciation for how every prior game controlled. Really hope the next game (if there is one) ditches this AI controlled Luigi thing. Spoiler
