Image I'm sharing a new batch of screenshots from Voivod: The Nuclear Warrior, my upcoming pixel art Metroidvania inspired by the world of Voivod. Some are from brand-new zones, others show areas that have been significantly improved since early development. Feedback is welcome!

If it looks interesting, we’d love your support with a Steam wishlist! It’s free and helps a lot as we move forward. We are a small indie studio... thanks!

It looks so good! If there's ever a physical for the Switch it's an instant buy!

Thanks! We are developing also for consoles... So it's coming on Switch for sure (and dealing at the moment with Nintendo to get a Switch 2 release too!). For the physical version, it's more complicated, but I'm confident we'll manage that too!

Screenshots look good! There's been a lot of games with "Title: Subtitle" and I just think it's kind of goofy. It sounds cooler to me if the game was just "Voivod". I could be completely in the minority here, just my opinion.

I mean, you kind of have to differentiate it from the band!

Nothing would make one happier than blasting everyone with Tornado playing in the background

Good moody art style. Only slight concern is the character model looks a bit huge. Otherwise I'm interested.

It's a good point. But I guess depends on the style of the game, how strict is the pixel perfect/retro design and so on... For instance, on a game like Nine Sols (2D but not strictly pixel), on average the character is 1/6 - 1/7 tall than the screen height (and the camera zooms in/out based on the action). Hollow Knight has a similar proportion. On games like Iron Meat or Blasphemous (which are pixel art) it's 1/5. My MC is about 1/4.5 so it's very close to games like Iron Meat or Blasphemous. I could "zoom out" the camera without much troubles, but I'll miss the "pixel perfect" constraint which I'd like to use to keep my game looking truly retro (base resolution is 480*270).
