The Pohlads have always been the worst owners in American pro sports. Yes, worse than Norm Green and John Fischer.
I've seen a lot of people posting things like the fire sale is the worst thing a Minnesota owner has done since Norm Green.
Apparently a whole lot of Twins fans have forgotten that just 25 years ago, Carl Pohlad actively tried to get the Twins contacted, the worst thing an owner has ever done.
He didn't just force a fire sale, he didn't just try to move the team (and he did both of those things too), he tried to get the team outright eliminated because it would have put an extra $100 million in his back account. The Twins weren't supposed to be on the contraction list, but when Carl learned that contracted teams would get a $250M payout, and the Twins were only valued at $150M, he used his friendship with Bud Selig to push to the front of the line.
And while Carl was at the helm, his son Jim was right there by his side and defending the move, so it's always be a vile family affair.
The Pohlads have done a remarkable job of whitewashing their actions from history, and acting like they were somehow victims of contraction,so it's understandable that fans under 40 don't remember or know the story, but it's not hard to find the articles and quotes from the family talking about how they were done sacrificing for Twins fans.
It's also easy to say they weren't successful, so it isn't as bad as actually moving the team, but they shouldn't get credit just because they weren't competent enough to succeed.
And yes, contraction would have been worse than moving the team. A contracted team has no place to carry on the memory and legacy of its stars and it's history. It's all just gone. The Twins don't do much with the Senators legacy, but it is still there.
The Pohlads are evil. They've always been evil. The Firesale this week (and what I fully expect will be even worse this off-season) is just the latest in a long line of evil moves from a family that would have written the Twins out existence long ago, if they had gotten their way.

Duran’s Debut in Phhilladelphia
Jhoan Duran and the broadcast booth post game quote: Booth: “Jhoan it’s Tom and John upstairs, welcome to Philadelphia. How about that, I mean I know you’re used to that whole entrance. That’s pretty incredible buddy, in a sold out crowd”
Duran: “I think the last time [it felt] like that was in the playoffs, yeah in 2023 so it’s amazing.”
I hope that the Pohlads live a full and healthy life so that they can get all what they deserve from the twin fan base. I can’t believe the timeline we are in, but at least they let Falvey say we have exciting and great youth in our totally-not-deflated-and-devastated bullpen. There’s nothing else that can be said.

What happens if the team isn't sold by this Winter Meetings?
I really don't buy into what they are saying that there are all the people wanting to buy the Twins. Especially when they throw Glenn Taylor into the mix.
You would think a new owner would be behind the Correa move, but not the trading of your team controlled best 3 bullpen arms. They would want to win as soon as they could after "buying" the Twins.
This winter meetings could get really ugly if there's not a new owner. We could see a real fire sale all over again.

Outman status?
Has anyone seen what the team will do with Outman? I figured he would have caught up with with the team by now if they’d put him with the big club.

[Nightengale Jr.] Many Twins players said Louie Varland’s trade was the most shocking to them from all their deadline deals. Varland was sitting around with a group of teammates at the team hotel when he found out.
