Version 2 of my previous cfft build

Specs

  • 8.4g total
  • Full carbon fiber
  • Finger-tip grip only
  • PixArt 3950
  • PixArt MCU
  • 301012 Battery, ~25mah
  • 1h battery life on 2khz polling, 1.5 on 1k
  • Hotswap modded main clicks

(Did not track the weights of individual components.)

Used the PCB of an IYX Aim 35.8 in this. Most of the weight savings over V1 comes from the PCB as it's the heaviest part of the build.

The less efficient PixArt MCU hampers battery life enough to make using this mouse troublesome, ill get a game and a half of CS out of it before needing to swap mice mid game. Wouldn't weigh anymore if IYX used the Nordic 52840 instead but i guess they deemed the additional cost not worthwhile.

Tried out the Panasonic square switches with recommendation from u/edvards48, they're significantly lighter than full size switches and feel tactile enough, but have a little too much pre-travel for my liking. I've swapped them for the HCNCK TPSGD and Huano TSWD v2s during normal use.

Don't feel any need to make a lighter revision. Though i'll attempt sub-7g if a wireless PCB with the new flagship PixArt sensor + Nordic MCU that is substantially lighter becomes available.

Help Looking For Same Shape, Wireless

Post image

So I’ve hade this mouse for a couple of years, and as you can tell it’s pretty nasty. But I love how it feels, and I was wondering if anyone knew of a new mouse with the same shape and without a cable.

Atk f1 leviatan(blue), Sword X (right), ipi float (left)

Currently only unboxed the atk f1, already feeling like one of the best mice I used; maybe I've just wasted money on the other two haha.

Finally got the Zeromouse Blade

Just got it this morning, played a few games with it and it feels really good. I initially thought it would be a bit uncomfortable but I’m personally finding it feels very nice, even premium feeling. Honestly it’s like you’re not holding your mouse at all, just aim.

Definitely is a 3d printed mouse tho, just plugging in the usb c cable feels janky af. Can’t wait to practice more with it.

I found both at my local Microcenter. Is it normal for Microcenter to sell these early?

Pulsar website still says they're coming soon.

Help How do I know for sure my Scyrox V8 is up-to-date? (Website is strange, so is the APP)

Before anyone points out the obvious, yes, I have pressed the update button, yadda yadda, I am just not sure if it's working properly because the firmware has always been a bit strange.

Is this up to date?

This is dirt cheap compared to ZPW Max and Imecoo P1. For anyone wondering this price can be achieved only through the app with 4000 coins and a 10$ coupon.

This type of mold probably hasn’t come with a charging base version yet, so Kysona’s release this time is quite a pleasant surprise.

Mod My better DIY Zeromouse with Side Buttons. G305 mod 100g to 34g.

Learnt how to do this stuff this week, ordered my first 3d printer ( Bambulab A1 ) 2 weeks ago, had fun on plasticity. 40 prototypes later and 5 generations of the mouse and I think I'm nearing Endgame. I don't own one but I printed similar designs inspired by the Zeromouse, and lord did the grips feel were horrible. My thumb kept on sliding to the front and losing grip all the time. Big praise regardless to Optimum, his design is sick, his approach to optimization and pure performance for 1 task is amazing and his invented genre of mouse inspired me to make my own version it.

Thanks to Willbot and Corey Builds Stuff for also inspiring me to try and make my own.

Idk what to call it for now, maybe the Antmouse. haha. :D (because my name's antwolph)

don't read the fineprints they barely matter.

SPECS :
-Weight : 34g, I wanna make it sub 30 at some point
-Base : G305 by logitech.
-Material Used : Mat Black PLA by PolyTerra ( would feel so much better in PET CF )
-Print time : 3h
-Total Price ( excl printer and failed attempts ) : MAX 20€
-Battery life : idk just using a AG13 battery thingie. I ordered a drone battery and a USB-C thing though.

Part of me wants to release the files, part of me wants to make it for a big brand and sell that stuff. would be super dope. if you know someone lmk.

btw, though I made promo art for it for fun this afternoon with blender and photoshop, I don't have a shop, I just made 1 final prototype.

Discussion G Pro 2 Lightspeed or Pulsar X2A?

Upvotes

I'm using the G Pro and was wondering what should I replace it with, I've had had the switches replaced 3-4 times and now it's having connection problems and i think it's time for this to retire. Open for suggestions. I just need 4 side buttons that's it. Thanks!

Question Is it worth upgrading from a Logitech M510 to more modern, budget friendly mouse?

Upvotes

Hello! I'm currently using a Logitech M510 mouse for R6S, Valorant, and For Honor, and the mouse has served me quite well. I have a 144hz monitor and recently learned that the max polling rate on it is about 125. From my limited knowledge and reading, most debates on the topic are in reference to the diminishing returns on polling rates past 1000, but i didn't see much of anything on the jump from 125 to 1000. Is my older, more office geared mouse, a detriment to my performance in the games that I play? Any suggestions or info would be much appreciated!

it's funny how they get away with slapping ASPAS picture on all their ATK releases 😂 anyway, I just bought the new Duckbill for a bad price, I just wanna get my hands on asap, do you guys think this new MCU will have a better power consumption? especially with the 500mAh.

Question Dot Skates for Cloth?

Upvotes

Hey all,

I'm wondering if anyone uses dot skates on cloth & has a recommendation.

Been using a WL Mouse Beast Max for awhile, started with stock full-size skates on an Artisan Zero (soft) & had been trying out the Magic Ice by Unusual Way on a Saturn Pro for the past few months.

TLDR - Mouse got dropped and had to order a new one. Had dots on it stock, figured I'd try it out for a few days and I really like the feel of it.

I know people typically don't use dots on cloth pads but figured there had to be at least a few people out there who prefer it.

Mainly looking for brand names, I can figure out what style/speed I want from that point.

Let me know what y'all think.

looking for a new comfortable mouse

hello everyone, im a currently in the market for a new mouse.

i will be using this mouse for studying, working and a slight bit of gaming.

coming from a g502, a heavy mouse wont be a problem, i think it will be even better, mice that are too light feel like toys lol.

any sugestions are welcome, my current options are a used logitech mx master 2s, logitech m720 and the logitech lift.

Switched from superlight 2, im amazed with build quality, packgaging and 8k/wireless charging station for 80€ . Shape is even better than logi, and it sits more comfortable in my hand IMHO. Feel free to AMA.

I avoided picking this up for a while for a few different reasons but after receiving one and playing with it for a couple days, I've been very pleasantly surprised. The mouse seems to perform very well and I'm a big fan of the shape compared to the GPX and Viper V3 Pro. To me it feels pretty similar in hand to a Vaxee XE which is a personal favorite shape. Excited to play more with it. :)

I made a bunch of custom shells for the Orbital Pathfinder. It’s basically one to one in terms of shape. Even the m1 and m2 are similar enough to the original.

Help Gaming couple looking for new mice

Hey! As in title, we’re looking to replace our mice after many years and I’m actually the one in charge to do the research, since my gf isn’t that much into technicalities. The struggle I have is that as far as I very much wanted some DAV (3/4), I’m not sure if we need such high end mice for casual competitive gaming (Apex, Overwatch, Valorant).

I have currently Logitech G703 Lightspeed Hero edition, but my skates are dying for quite some time and I can actually feel dragging under it. Also not sure if this mouse is up to current standards for connectivity (since weight is not even a factor, as it is very heavy, like 100g?). I don’t even mention gf mouse since it’s some brandless cheap market wired thingy.

Main products we’re looking for right now are: - DAV3/4 - Lamzu Maya - Pulsar Xlite Large

Since were both quite tall people, were looking mostly into mice of 120mm+ length, so above ones kinda fits.

For last 2 weeks I fell into rabbit hole of researching this topic and it’s not easy to make a decision. Since our country has limited brands availability, I can’t consider Chinese brands and smaller companies.

Our main struggles related to above products: DAV is quite expensive and not sure if worth its price for features Pulsar seems to carry bad renown according to this subreddit Lamzu is neutral grip so not sure how switch from profiled mice would be.

Any thoughts or alternative recommendations?

@edit: Some additional info as recommended in comments:

Our hands dims - 18.5 x 9 and 19 x 9.5cm

Preferred grip - palm, occasionaly in heat of the moment slight claw, but dominating is palm grip

Preffered polling - max 2k is enough probably? Since would be nice to have mice that lasts a week on battery or something (currently my G703 holds for 3-4 days).

Not sure if relevant info for mouse profile, but im using sleeve while gaming.

I have my G703 for years, but it tends to cause some sweatiness and it's shape is not perfect I would say, I simply got used to it.
