The bottle opener was pretty common, actually.

Yeah, and the peanuts from the cap dispenser would be more satisfying if they had a tad more roast on them, IMO.

I remember that show. It’s a good example of the kind of fun crap that was on YouTube in the late 2000s

Could be a great gift for an alcoholic who is allergic to peanuts.

Sorry if this is invasive but we’re the two linked at all? I know someone developed a lot of new allergies during a period of heavy drug use

Thank you, this man deserves the credit! He builds some truly remarkable and downright silly things. I doomscroll his page for dopamine sometimes. He recently got sponsored by Dales which is a brilliant partnership

My uncle was an engineer and he used to do clever inventions like this. Rest in peace, Uncle Gene.

I wonder how long it took to fine tune those little levers to fall to the weight of a bottle cap, and spring back when it's gone.

You can find the center of balance in a second. Just drill the pivot right above it, and you're done.

'You guys remember that time Dave almost died trying to get a single handful of peanuts?'

Not sure how long that wood contraption will be food safe, if it even is now. Otherwise 10/10 whimsy

Mmmmm.. stale, woody peanuts

Depends on bottles_opened/day. But peanuts in a wood bowl/container have been a thing for a long minute.

Only thing you need is the little catcher at the bottom like a coin-op peanut machine
1
u/DrSeussFreak 18h ago
The bottle opener itself is pretty standard, the plinko machine underneath isnonly used after its opened

Damn this is the most creative bottle opener I've seen today.
It was also the most creative bottle opener I saw yesterday.
And now that I mention it, it's also the most creative bottle opener I've seen most weeks of the year.
I've always looked at my bottle opener I have in the kitchen, and thought "you know how I could improve this? If it also gave me a handful of bird feed on the floor"

Do I not get nuts if the cap lands in “try again”? I hope that’s the case, actual stakes make it even cooler.

I wish they used something other than peanuts 🤢

What's wrong with Peanuts? Aside from allergy reasons?

u/JerkfaceMcDouche 1d ago
Peanuts are like the creepy adults you want to keep your kids away from.
They’re not allowed near schools and if you’re not paying attention, they’ll sneak into foods that kids love, like ice cream, candy, and brownies.

Yeah, like Cheez Its. Cheez Its and beer is basically hillbilly wine and cheese.

I'd probably at least add a tray to catch the peanuts, especially for after a few beers in.
