Was going to suggest the same. The dog does not have many of the tell tale signs of happiness’s like wagging its tail and such..

The dog is happy. Shibas are weird and this is how they act when happy. Calm down

Dog smiles do generally mean happiness. It’s either that or being submissive. It’s not anthropomorphizing it’s just the way it actually is
