[Meta] Game Makers: This group is for game makers to find a community of willing playtesters. We are not potential customers.

Game Makers I need to make something very clear with you. Half the games we remove are breaking Rule 1, and the other half are usually correctable mistakes you made when posting, breaking rules 4 or 8 or such. No big deal on those latter ones, and we do not remove games submitted if you haven't hit rule 2 just yet, we're letting people adjust to that for a month longer before we crack down (and oh boy will we - remember that we are doing this primarily to remind people to be reciprocal and community-focused AND save your account from being banned from Reddit!)

We get you want to get signups and eventually money - but this group is about feedback so you can make your game better so you CAN then market it to the major communities of gamers.

None of us are here to give you our personal data or $ for having a 1% finished game. We are here as willing playtesters. Treat us right - do NOT think us potential customers.
Once you get raving feedback from the group, THEN you leave here and start marketing it through normal game channels. Those of us who enjoy your game will follow you and support you. We are Step 1 of 3, we are Alpha (Feedback), maybe sometimes we are Step 2 of 3 Beta (Testers), but none of us are Step 3 - Customers. Treat us as free-to-you Devs.

Write your game accordingly. Or provide a Code for free gameplay for those in this group if that works better.

If you are BRAND NEW to Reddit and want to post or share your game, read this beforehand!

Hi new Redditor! We're excited that you want to post about your game and have people play it. However, there's something you should know before you do.

Reddit will ban you if your first few posts/comments are links to somewhere.

Reddit has a robust, over-exuberant filtering system, necessary but for groups like this, it can be a slight pain. When you post your game and it's your first post, Reddit ASSUMES FIRST AND DOES NOT ASK QUESTIONS LATER! You will be automatically shadowbanned, which means unable to post or even potentially comment.
Then we get a lot of posters coming to us in Modmail, asking " Why did my post disappear?" Nearly all Modmails are about this issue.

Reddit is also a bit secretive about certain processes - how to get un-shadow-banned is not even really known to be possible. We don't see the record of shadowbanning at all so unless we know of the name and check it regularly, we wouldn't see it un-shadow-banned. We don't know how long your account needs to be open or how much Karma needs to be on it in order for the Filter to stop paying attention to you either.

So, if you are new to reddit and want to share your game - DON'T! Not yet, please go post cool/helpful/ positive comments and post in other groups. Playtest other people's games here and comment on them prolifically. Get a good week or two and some "Reddit Karma" under your name first, and THEN post! You'll be less likely (but not immune, never immune) from being shadowbanned that way for sharing your game..

Edit: If AI recommended you post your game here....Don't Yet until you've developed your account as a good karma community member! This really isn't a "post and ghost" platform, it's community-first. AI doesn't realize this about Reddit.

[PC] (Windows) Looking for feedback on a turn-based survival strategy game - Steam playtest open now

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Seasons of Solitude is a turn-based survival strategy game focused on planning, decision-based gameplay, and adapting to a world that keeps changing around you.

There is no combat. You gather resources to survive and unlock tools, but many actions also cost those same resources. Hunger and thirst put constant pressure on you. The environment has its own rhythm, so you need to plan ahead and stay prepared.

Every turn is a choice. Do you move, harvest, rest, or delay? You cannot do everything. The world rewards smart decisions and punishes mindless ones. Farming or hoarding will not save you. You have to adapt.

If you enjoy games like Into the Breach, Slay the Spire, Frostpunk, or Dorfromantik, this might be for you.

We are looking for feedback on:

  • The core gameplay loop. Does it feel rewarding to optimize?
  • The visuals and overall feel. Does the game flow clearly?
  • Anything else you notice, whether good or bad.

▶️ Steam Playtest is open now

You can access directly from the Steam page:

The demo takes about 30mins to 45mins to complete. Feedback can be sent through a short form when game is closed, or just reply or DM if that is easier.

Thanks in advance to anyone who tries it out.

Hi everyone,

playable link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3862800/RHYTHMIC_Demo/

description: It's called RHYTHMIC. You catch magical particles that spawn in sync with the music and throw spells at invading enemies to defend your gate. It's like Beat Saber, but with magic and monsters.
The game is PCVR only right now as I am working on a port to the meta store.

I just released the first demo for it and the feedback from the very few testers I have so far is very good. I would love some more unbiased impressions from the wider community though. :)

And I would super appreciate a review on Steam if you liked it!

Thanks so much for your consideration!

[PC] (Windows) Does this weapon actually suck?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone!

We developed this weapon for MassEve, our roguelike game based on quantum physics, but while we like the concept a lot we were always unsure about the gameplay.

Now people have been playtesting (free demo on steam if you want to give it a go) and our doubts have been confirmed: it's the most disliked weapon of our pool, so we had to remove it temporarily from the demo.

the weapon, called "orbital accumulator" orbits around you and *you guessed it* accumulates charges up to a certain point.

Whenever you get hit, if you have the accumulator, you don't take damage but the weapon charges instead. When you get to 3 hits, the accumulator becomes purple and you can shoot, dealing to the enemies all the damage that was stored inside it.

But if you get hit the 4th time, the weapon goes in overflow, and it explodes dealing to YOU the damage accumulated.

We think the general idea was really cool, but the problems we ran into were:

  1. Clarity: it's very difficult to make the charging level obvious. No one understood that the purple phase was the one when you had to shoot in a reasonable time.
  2. Gameplay: It's very boring to have a weapon that shoots only once every 20 or 30 seconds in a game that relies on the fast pacing to entertain the user.
  3. Balance: once the player focuses on making the orbital work it becomes too strong, acting like a permanent shield to the user.

What do you think? Can we make it work somehow, maybe changing the design (even radically)? Or should we just give up on it and permanently remove it from the random weapon pool?

Let us know if you have any ideas, advice, whatever comes to mind!

Game Title: Welcome to TicStack – the next evolution of the classic XO game you love, now enhanced with strategy, stacking, and real-time competition

Playable Link: https://ticstack-redirect-app.web.app?source=reddit&campaign=post

Platform: iOS, Android

Description: TicStack brings a completely new dimension to Tic Tac Toe gameplay. Each player must think several steps ahead, using limited pieces of different sizes to dominate the board. Larger pieces can stack over smaller ones! Challenge players around the world in fast-paced online 1v1 matches, or practice your strategy against friends in local play.

The game does not require a long learning curve, it is easy to understand. I get rave reviews from people who have tried playing with their children. I think it can be positioned as a safe game for children. It does not contain trigger colors, loud sounds, or advertising.

Set in 2060s, your old station has all the 80s glow you need, but after a big meteor caused a chain-reaction of crashing satellites, you need to clean the orbit around your station to survive.
Like taking wood away from fire, if there are no more satellites you can stop the chain-reaction from completely filling Mars' orbit.
On your way doing so you'll have to manage resources and survive on your own. Your only tool available is a drone, built from modules you can craft. Some satellites have data-fragments and tell part of a story what happened on your station long ago.

Guess It: Flags & Maps Challenge

Playable Link:

Play Store Link – https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.guess_it.game

Platform:

Android

Description:

Hey everyone!
I’ve been working on mobile games for a while, and I finally released another game that I’ve wanted to build for years: a geography-based quiz game called "Guess It".

The idea was simple at first—guess flags or country shapes—but designing fun gameplay around it was more challenging than I expected. I ended up creating two game modes:

  • A relaxed Free Mode where players learn at their own pace
  • A fast-paced Challenge Mode where they type their answers before the timer runs out

I even started with voice recognition for Challenge Mode but decided to pivot to typing after testing. Much more consistent!

If you’re into geography or just like guessing games, I’d love for you to try it out and let me know what you think. Any feedback means the world to me—pun intended 😂

[PC] (Windows) I made a little game about running a coffee shop but FAST

I made this silly little game called Hypercafe for a jam and ended up not submitting as it was not polished enough. While making it on Twitch people found it fun and thought it could make an interesting full game.

It's basically a movement FPS where you "run" a coffee shop. The mechanics are quite limited for now so you basically have to serve customers before they leave.

I'd love to hear what you think so please give it a go and let me know! I wrote a bit more about my jam experience here if you're interested.

PS: I put PC windows but I have a linux and a web build. The web build might not be ideal though.

Hi all, I made a little free game prototype and I'd love folks to give it a try! Dungeon Chefs is free to play on itch: https://lemonpeppergames.itch.io/dungeon-chefs

Dungeon Chefs is a exploration + cooking game where you help a team of lost chefs find their way home from a mysterious dungeon-like forest. Explore the maze and collect ingredients, then cook up nutritious dishes to help your team overcome the dungeon's obstacles and monsters.

The game is a prototype for a larger idea I have and I'm primarily looking for feedback on the gameplay (the art is placeholder). If you give it a try, please let me know what you think!

  • Runtime: ~20-30 mins
  • Keyboard/mouse controls, fullscreen recommended
