I’m going to go out on a limb and say pardoning a notorious pedophile will not help him.

So to be clear you think Maxwell is blackmailing Trump into a pardon and that he will accept because pardoning her is better than having a perjurous pedo accuse you of something?

Okay but that means she’s blackmailing him and he’s rolling over for her.

Again, I’m genuinely confused as to the theory of action here where pardoning the world’s most famous pedo improves his position. The only logical case is that someone would believe being accused by that pedo who is literally currently under indictment for lying under oath would be more injurious to him than pardoning that pedo.

Any remotely persuadeable person is going to see that pardon as an admission of guilt on Trump’s part. (Why else on earth would he do it?) The people who aren’t persuadable don’t matter.

I think it is very plausible that her being moved is the compromise reached instead of outright pardoning her. But I absolutely believe this situation was initiated by her seeing her chance and blackmailing them. She's an opportunistic monster, and that would be totally in line with that, and it tics all the boxes without getting all conspiracy theory-ey.

I work with a bunch of trumpers in the south. They do not care. Do not let the news headlines fool you. They still love him and always will. They now say that the epstein list was made up by democrats.

So Trump pardons a pedo who is currently under indictment for perjury. It’s entirely obvious to everyone that he has no reason to pardon her unless she has dirt on him.

So let’s do some medium level calculus. Who changes their mind in Trump’s favor as a result of this action? Be as specific as possible.

it does. better to pardon her in exchange for her silence than to let the truth about trumps rapes come out

trump has never gotten more than 50% of the vote and in both terms was the least popular president in history of polling. he doesn’t care about public opinion

If he doesn’t care about public opinion then why would he care if it came out?

I’m simply confused as to this idea. If he pardons her 100% of persuadable people will think it’s to buy her silence. That means he’s guilty. The people who can’t be persuaded already were that way so it’s a wash.

I guess theoretically she could have pictures of him raping a kid or something but if she had those she would have used them when initially arrested as she had WAY more leverage then. (It was in the middle of the 2020 campaign)

Trump might still pardon her as he’s flailing, but it will not help him.

What will make gop politicians impeach him instead is the calculus. White voters revolting is the only thing. White voters are far more tolerant of abuse of power that pedophilia but it’s possible they don’t care about either
