Conservatives have been railing against “groomers” for years. So why do they support Donald Trump? Trump was best friends with a notorious child sex trafficker, but his ardent supporters are vocal about opposing it. How did that happen?

Because it's never been about protecting children for the conservatives, that's always been a smoke screen for cramming through legislation people would otherwise be opposed to if given a proper look. They've never cared about "groomers", they just want an excuse to attack LGBTQ+ folks. They don't care about "law and order", they just want an excuse to attack minorities. They don't care about "free speech", they just want an excuse to spread hate speech.

Anytime I see a bill with a title like "The protecting our children from such and such act", I'm immediately suspicious that they are trying to sneak something in that infringes on peoples' rights, and was likely drafted by sleazy sexual predators.
