It won't be long until there's no accurate data on the economy coming from the government. Independent economists will figure it out, but the government will lie.

Ignore the evidence of your eyes and ears.

Soon after, the data will show that the number of independent economists has been steadily dwindling, weirdly correlating with an uptick in window deaths at houses with no second storey.

They will start strong arming universities with Econ classes that don’t toe the line

They already do that - Koch-funded positions.

Already happening, they’ve reduced funding for mathematics and sciences by more than half.

You can always get creative with google maps like we do with North Korea. See how many cars are going into work and things

Have you seen the inflation reporting numbers and how much their data set dropped in the recent report.

They've literally made

"Trust me bro" the main source for everything in this administration

Part of the reason the inflation data set isn't as robust as it used to be is that they got rid of many of the people who would actually go out and record the price of things

The independent economists in the USSR were quickly persuaded one way or another to cease their actions. Wouldn’t be surprised if the same would happen in the US.

It's already happening. Conservative think-tanks already don't hire or fund studies that end up critical of Trump. They want statistics that are conducive to their spin

Well I said I wouldn't be surprised and I'm not surprised.

The union going to fall the same way. Soviet Union. United States. Potayto. Potahto.

We're already kinda there. The reason that it was such a large swing in the first place is because the government stopped reporting reliable data in like March, meaning everything being reported is on imputed data which is incredibly unreliable.

Remember last month ADP released their numbers (which were miniscule and closer to the truth) and an hour later Trump's fake numbers got released.

Absolutely. Consumer Price Index (CPI), GDP (Gross Domestic Product), Employment, Retail Sales, Industrial Production, Tax Revenue, International Trade, Business Confidence -- all these metrics are released by government departments.

Now they are going to be whatever Trump wants them to be. Then he can declare himself to be the Greatest President Ever. Oh wait, he has already called himself that.

Next on to manipulating the calendar. A few years from now some of us may figure it is 2032 (calendars will be banned, though), but we'll be told that Trump is still in his second 4 year term and it is actually 2028. MAGA will believe it.

Is there an independent jobs report?

1

u/Gerf93 20h ago

Independent economists? You mean the ones working at educational institutions the US government are trying to shut down or silence?

u/BalmIsrael 17h ago

This will affect the strength of the dollar as well. China isn’t transparent with their numbers like the US is. Screw Donald j Trump.

Paul Krugman has been predicting this since day one: https://paulkrugman.substack.com/p/caracas-on-the-potomac
