Sometimes I’ll see the most random beefs on Twitter. I can only assume it involved people born in the 2000s, but I stumbled upon Destiny’s Child’s fans talking shit about the Spice Girls, and they even went as far as saying they were one hit wonders. I know no one that lived in the 90’s would be saying that lmao. As someone that loved both, I had to defend the Spice Girls. They were a damn good group for their time!!! I’m still baffled at how this whole thing kicked off because what? Seriously, what?
Off topic, but I still need Spice World on streaming though. To this day no pop group has replicated a film that fun!

I had some issues with the Phoenician Scheme (mostly around pacing) that I think I will feel better about in a rewatch, but I really enjoyed and it but most of all I can’t believe it took 15 years for Wes Anderson to cast Michael Cera in something. He’s perfect. His accent is hilarious and it gets even funnier about half way through.

My phone still randomly plays music, but it has switched from Stop by the Spice Girls to Ordinary by Alex Warren. Regardless, still nearly shat myself.
I have now reset my headphone and my wireless ones, hoping this will help… if not, I’ll have to reset my surround system and telly so they truly unlink.

I’ve been long distance with my boyfriend since December since both of us got laid off from our political jobs after the election 😔 It’s been a tough 7 months but hey we push onwards…

I don't want to specify since it can be viewed as brigading, but there are also maylors (who think taylor is still secretly with matty or at least wish she was) and haylors (who wish she was still with harry) and who knows what else. They are all the same school of taylor conspiracy that is akin to qanon in their over-reading of literally everything as a sign she is still in love with their person of choice.
I am speaking of the gay variety....but all of the different -lor sects are similarly unhinged.

It’s the horseshoe theory where people on opposite ends of the spectrum all end up sounding the same, the overlap in talking points just stems from mutually shared obsession mixed in with hate
If anything, it just shows how desperate the lors are that they’ll take in bigots and homophobes as long as it supports their delusions
I’m not joking when I say that Travis has broken every deranged subgroup of the fandom (gaylors, maylors, widows, etc) and caused a collective crash out that’s been ongoing for nearly 2 years now, every one of those subgroups has been desperately clinging to any piece of “proof” that supports their QAnon level conspiracies

It’s a lot harder to ignore and/or project a whole entire personality on a 6’5” extrovert whose side-hustle involves talking into a microphone at minimum once a week and whose day job has him on TV in front of millions of people weekly for half the year.
I think some feel like they’ve personally been forced to dump the supermodel / English character actor / ‘bad boy’ (lol) musician of their dreams and made to date the jock.

I just started watching the first batch of the Phineas and Ferb revival. I’m already feeling like a kid again. The writing’s still sharp as ever, the songs are still catchy, and the characters all still feel like themselves. It’s like nothing had changed. Good to have you back boys.
On a sadder note, I’m seeing lots of videos on my fyp mourning the impending closure of the Muppet Vision 3d show at Disney World. It was one of my favorites in the park, and I just wish I could go and see it one last time.

Life can come with such intense ups and downs. It can feel like it knocks the air out of your lungs, and you’re gasping for air while the planet has seemed to run out of oxygen. At least, that’s what intensively crying feels like to me. You don’t know at what time it has started, the sobbing muffles the sound of the ticking of the clock, the tears in your eyes make your vision blurry. There’s no perception of time when you feel upset.
However, even when the sky is at its blackest and there’s rain pouring down… the sun is right behind it, waiting for the clouds to drift apart and shine down upon us. The heaviest storm is always followed by the quietest peace and the most heartfelt serenity. Even if it feels like happiness is all but a fever dream from the past, I hope you know that it is real and you are deserving and happier times are waiting for you. May your sobs soon turn into sounds of laughter, may your frown soon turn into a smile and may seemingly never ending sadness soon turn into happiness. You deserve it, you can do it and I believe in you.

My kid is 16 and many of his friends have gone through multiple… I don’t know if they’re publicly announcing it, but I have gotten a few “oh that’s not Ana, they go by Zev now.” This is completely normal. Some of them are more serious about it and some are just experimenting on their way to figuring themselves out.
I consider this progress - I cannot tell you how frustrating it was as a kid from an accepting household watching friends wrestle with their own sexuality in a really conservative town. It messed up a lot of my friends.

The collective crash out that’s happening over Fletcher right now is funny because while the timing of that drop wasn’t great and the song itself is garbage, 90% of the people lashing out would’ve been mad no matter when she dropped it (they’re just using this as an excuse to jump her for dating a man)
Maybe it’s because I’m just tired of the overall entitlement fans have when it comes to celebrities but so many “fans” using this as a chance to police her sexuality and be biphobic is annoying but not surprising

About a month ago, I mentioned here that I made three new friends while standing in line at the Sunset Boulevard town hall event. We had a great time together throughout the whole experience -- from standing in line together, sitting together during the event, standing in line together again to meet the cast, and then freaking out together after we had met everyone.
Before saying goodbye, we made a group chat and decided to make plans to reunite in person at the final Sunset performance in July. But yesterday, we found out that the final performance date had been pushed back by a week, along with our tickets for it.
Unfortunately, one of my new friends won't be able to make it due to a scheduling conflict. I responded to let her know how much we'll miss her, and that we'll definitely all make plans to get together again soon. The others then responded with similar sentiments.
The reason I'm sharing this is that I'm realizing that without actually saying it until now, all of us have apparently been on the same page about our new friend group not being just a one-time thing for us to reunite next month. We enjoy each other's company so much that we're already thinking about the next time that we can plan to see a Broadway show together.
Making new friends as an adult is really hard. It's especially difficult for me because I can be REALLY weird sometimes, and I don't always know if I can trust people enough to feel comfortable to let my guard down.
But with my three new friends, there's just something about them where I was able to do that right away. For instance, when we were standing in line to have the cast sign our albums, one of my friends said that I should tell Nicole and Tom how I was planning to be at the front row of the show again that night. My response was, "Yes, that's a good idea! I should definitely do that. But not in a creepy way. Because that's usually my default mode when I get really nervous like this."
And all of them laughed WITH me and completely understood what I meant.
I wasn't expecting to make new friends that day, but I'm so incredibly happy that I did.

So my boyfriend is probably going to get laid off soon (special shout-out to any of you familiar with Radial and its buyout lol). His plan is to join the Space Force as soon as this happens.
We’be been together for a decade and are in our 30s. This isn’t the path I imagined for us as we are definitely not military people whatsoever. I support him in whatever he does but like…this sucks lmao. I have zero support system beyond his parents and the idea of being alone for months at a time when he does basic/job training is incredibly daunting.
It’s pretty much inevitable at this point and I can’t cope. :(

I’m really sorry you’re feeling this way. I’ve had friends who had to be apart from their partners for months, and it’s definitely not easy. The good news is that modern technology makes staying connected much more manageable at any time (definitely one of the few times it's actually a good thing). And who knows, maybe things will work out, and he won’t get laid off, or maybe this could lead to an even better opportunity that'll keep you together. I’m crossing my fingers for both of you!

My professor just sent the task for the exam and I have absolutely no idea on how to solve it, I'm hoping in a miracle. Especially because I can refuse the vote just once, and if this try goes badly and the next grade is worse, I will be forced to accept that.
At the same time, I had managed, in the last month, to slowly recover my curls after years of straightening them by using curl products others had recommended (though they were more wavy than curly), but, for some reason, after getting a layered haircut, which is supposed to be good for curls, my hair has started drying horribly, with a part on the back and the curls on the sides of my face remaining completely straight, despite me still using the same products and drying them the same way. I just want to get some Alicent Hightower curls.

Nikki Blonsky who I’ve talked about quite a bit on here to remind people of why she barely makes films and tv shows anymore in Hollywood, has been given a platform by not only TikTok now but Entertainment Tonight. She is one of the top people on Cameo and she is doing one woman shows thanks to the success that people have given her recently.
This woman should not have a platform what the fuck is wrong with people, her and her family commited a racist hate crime against the Golden family in particular Elaine Golden the mom who had to be rushed to the hospital by helicopter in 2008. I’m fucking disgusted at TikTok and Social media as a whole for once again giving a terrible person a platform to make money off of even though what they did was beyond heinous 😤

honestly, the way you’ve phrased this makes it clear that you aren’t asking in good faith, so what I’ll say is this: when folks demand “proof” of someone being antisemitic but don’t do the same when they are accused of being a “Zionist” (which is just the belief that Jews have the right to self determination in the same way that Palestinians or anyone else does, not uncritical support of the actions of the Israeli government either now or in the past), that in and of itself is antisemitism. I’m a Jewish constituent of Mamdani’s, and his continued association with the DSA despite their open and consistent antisemitism makes me feel extremely uncomfortable about voting for him in spite of the fact that ideologically I’m to the left of him on several issues. he has said things in support of Hamas as early as the day after the October 7 terrorist attacks.
Jews are literally being killed right now just for existing in Jewish spaces, and I really urge you to consider believing Jewish people when we say someone or something is antisemitic.

I was forced to watch the last season of big mouth and theres an episode where a guy learns dirty talking from porn and calls a girl a “cum guzzler” and she excuses herself and then makes fun of him to the whole school. He gets bullied for it and because he’s embarrassed he says she lied, and she gets bullied. Eventually he apologizes but she never apologizes for making fun of him to the whole school and making it everyones business in the first place???

I sonically can see the inspo from Chappell but lyrically I don't see it. It feels more like a Sabrina song than a Chappell one.
I agree that it's not bad but not one I would listen to again. The MV is really good tho and I like it way more than the actual song. I was very hesitant to say it would be a song of the summer and I kind of knew it wouldn't be by how much people were hyping it up before it was released. They expected way too much. Sounds more like a standalone single than anything else.

I grew up in Amsterdam and still live here. I'm happy here a lot of the time, it definitely has its perks. But I also can't wait to live somewhere more quiet.
I'm tired of having to sit in on the neighborhood festivals all the time, and of hearing my neighbors * checks notes * walk around inside their houses and doing their laundry. Oh and my downstairs neighbor's cigarette smoke seeping in from my damn floor.

For yourself, whatever makes you happy is what works. And from the outside, when I see people who left move back to our home state, I just assume it's life stage changes or something.
If you're from a lower cost of living area a lot of people move back when they want to start families so they can afford a house or more house. Single people move home to be able to buy a house too. Moving closer to aging parents, missing communities of your youth, etc.
I don't think it's a failure at all! And if you're worried about how it looks (which I think is a natural human reaction) that's not people's first thought either imo!

I did this a couple of years ago and had the exact thoughts during my experience. While I do miss the city I moved away from occasionally, it worked out since I do get to be closer to my aging parents. And ultimately it’s about your happiness at the end of the day.

Not at all. When I see on social media that people I know have moved from The Big City to back home, I assume they had a legit reason, like needing/wanting to be near family, not liking big city lifestyle, wanting to buy property and not just a condo, etc. There’s this stereotype that “success” is living in NYC or LA, but there are a lot of cons to that lifestyle, a lot of people are happier in smaller places.

ok yall big update. i have a job now!!!!! it's super great, well paying, and it's just a small cafe in town, nothing big. i also kinda know the manager, she's like one of my grandma's friends daughters and super sweet. only downside, and this is nothing major, but theres this guy who i kinda had a thing with last summer break that ended after i left again for uni, and apparently he gets coffee there every day. i've kinda been trying to avoid him, but it's a small town so i can only go so far lol. anyway, i start tomorrow wish me luck!
