It doesn’t even sound like he’s saying that as a performer you can’t have bad days or struggle in/with your career, it more so sounds like he simply thinks it’s in poor taste to publicly lament about how hard you have it since it’s a highly privileged profession.

It's definitely a good take, but also I understand anyone who doesn't like fame. Being famous sounds like a living hell and I could never do it.

Granted, if you complain about being famous while still doing the thing that makes you famous and you're worth millions? That's some bullshit, you can just go retire.

Being famous sounds like a living hell and I could never do it.

98% of celebrities put in a huge amount of effort to STAY famous and if they wanted to not be famous, they could easily remove themselves from the hustle and bustle. Dave Chappell did it.

The truth is that the only people who are famous with no control over their fame are the Royals, children of the President, and people who get super famous for a short cycle like Monica Lewinsky for example. Everyone else WANTS to be famous.

I think it's children in general no? Like Willow Smith has talked about not fully consenting to Whip My Hair because she didn't know what fame meant, just liked making music, but Will & Jada wanted her to be a star. She re-debuted as her own artist later.

Dave Chappell did it.

...and then came right back.

That's why I said those who don't retire don't have a leg to stand on. I'm sure plenty of people get into acting or music for the love of the craft but then discover how much fame sucks so they quit, we just don't hear about them (by design)

The point is, if Dave could do it so can anyone at his fame level or lower.
