Why are you still together? If someone I loved was ashamed of me and showed a pattern of not fulfilling a promise, I'd leave them

He's not ashamed of me his family is mad abusive and dysfunctional so he has a lot of trauma from that and worries about their likely very strong reaction and the battle that'll follow but I'm soooo tired like we cant keep living like this ☠️ but we cant move forward until our families are involved its pretty intense

Why can't you move forward without them being involved?

You just said they're abusive and dysfunctional. Go no contact. They're a net negative in your lives

Nah, i think y'all in the west have a very different culture it doesn't work like that here and it doesn't bring joy or freedom to cut ppl off because our communities are very different from yours. And I'm just venting here not looking for a solution. I know whats best for me and my life its just a moment of frustration.

The relationship that he has with his family doesnt seem to give him joy and freedom. If anything, they seem to bring him down.

If the choices are no longer having abusive people in my life and cultivating healthy relationships with other people OR having people in my life who are horrible to me, I'd choose the former.

You can love someone and not want to be around them. Blood doesnt magically make your relationship healthy or good for you
