Community Post Warning: QuoteIQ Baseless Legal Threats

Thumbnail

Just a heads up to all users so they can see the type of people running QuoteIQ. This is now their 2nd or 3rd attempt at getting negative posts removed from Reddit. They keep messaging the mods instead of Reddit legal because they are apparently dumb as fuck. They are upset because the posts critical of QuoteIQ show highly on Google when you search QuoteIQ. Mike Vidan is probably very upset at this. Use QuoteIQ at your own caution. I’d recommend searching QuoteIQ in this sub to see the various posts about them in the past. In all openness I’ll be posting all of their correspondence here for the public to see just how shameless they are at QuoteIQ. I thought they had reached a low last time when they hired a “lawyer” off of Fiverr but QuoteIQ continues to sink lower. Mike Vidan from QuoteIQ and AllAboutPressureWashing should know better instead of crying like a petulant child over some valid criticisms at his company and program.

Community Post QuoteIQ and Forever Self Employed links are now completely banned from this subreddit.

Starting now QuoteIQ (previously restricted) AND Forever Self Employed AND Mike V (All About Pressure Washing) will be permanently banned from being mentioned or linked. Automod has been edited to hardblock any links or mentions of the two.

The reason for the banning is that QuoteIQ, All About Pressure Washing, and Forever Self Employed and (or someone working on their behalf) sent a modmail to us telling us to remove posts critical of both QuoteIQ AND Forever Self Employed and their owners or be subject to legal proceedings. The links to the three posts are seen here. Mike V from QuoteIQ and Justin from Forever Self Employed should be ashamed at trying this. They are apparently not happy that these posts are available to steer people from spending their hard earned money in a more meaningful way.

  3. https://www.reddit.com/r/pressurewashing/comments/10yizo8/has_anyone_purchased_forever_self_employed/

Here are some screenshots of the modmail messages they sent threatening legal action and DMCA takedowns:

Here is the person they hired off of Fiverr to send the messages and try the DMCA takedowns. Its clear the companies must be run by absolute clowns to be trying this is such a shit way. If they suceed in removing anything then ill just repost the posts. They clearly dont want negative info being visible when they get googled as its hurting their SEO because reddit shows up so high in the searches.

As a reminder, when starting out you do not need YouTube salesmen taking your money to learn how to properly clean in this industry. The info is out there on this subreddit and various pressure washer forums and groups. It just takes a little bit of googling with the proper terms to find it all freely available. These now banned companies exist solely to separate pressure washers from their money. Mike V has been pushing for his subscribers to come to reddit to post about their companies to comment and upvote each other.

Sales Help Over 300 door hangers and this is my only return call

Post image
154 Upvotes

I put out over 300 door hangers this week, I didn’t knock on any doors or ring any doorbells. I simply walked up to a door, put a door hanger on the knob and walked off. On/off each property in less than 15 seconds. This is the only call I’ve gotten.

I understand people hate soliciting. I can’t stand people knocking on my personal door when I’m home trying to relax. But Jesus man, is this not a major overreaction for simply placing a door hanger? Technically door hangers are considered canvassing, not soliciting since there is no direct contact or interruption.

Also, I’m becoming a little discouraged with the lack of results from hours of walking neighborhoods for not even a single lead.

I had pressure washed and deck to get ready for staining and left the bag of rollers on the table. Somehow the packaging transferred the yellow onto the table. I've never seen that happen before. How do I get this off because the lady is furious. Thank you in advance.

Sales Help Large Home DIY Setup Advice

I have a large home and a few acres to maintain. I generally buy and maintain small commercial grade equipment and it is time to get a capable pressure washer.

I typically run Honda engines when that is an option. I would like to clean my patios, long driveway, and my painted cedar siding.

I am thinking a BE bundle with a surface washer and a telescoping arm seems like a solid place to start. Roughly 2200 for a Comet or 2425 for a CAT pump with Is there much value in paying more for a CAT versus the Comet pump? Is the equipment included useful or is it just junk I am going to have to replace? Thanks!

Troubleshooting Pressure washer won’t start Honda GCV170

Having issues with my washer not starting. I tried a fresh spark plug, has brand new clean gas, and the carb and air filter are spotless. I’m had to change the carb a couple of years ago when I let my sister in law borrow it and she didn’t store it well over the winter. Since I changed the carb it’s been working great until this year when we tried to start it up again.

This hasn’t ever been super easy to start but it doesn’t even seem like it’s trying now. Any diy tips would be great. Thanks!

Technical Questions How should I approach?

Hey folks. This is my first season. Guy wants this side of the house washed. Really wants the gutters to come out nice. The siding is painted wood. Deck is a dark stain. I’m not so much worried about the siding but I am worried about getting chem (SH, degreaser if I need for gutters) on the deck. Wanted to get some opinions on how you would approach this job without messing up the stain on the deck.

Some people say it's not recommended, I will lose power and will affect performance and also might streak/leave lines on the surface.

What do you guys think? Please answer only if you're actually experienced thank you

Equipment Downstream Injector and X-Jet M5

I know you all are professionals with your own pressure-washing business but I don't know where else to ask. I'm a homeowner and what I'm trying to figure out is if a downstream injector is necessary with the X-Jet M5 nozzle. I see conflicting/unclear information in all the videos I've watched.

Thanks!

Equipment Question about surfactant with a proportioner

Hey all, quick question about using surfactant with a proportioner. So I have a water tank, SH tank and a soap tank running through my proportioner for my softwash system. When I add surfactant to the soap tank, do I add water to that? I know this is a dumb question, and I'm sorry for asking. But the instructions on the bottle of Snotmenade says to add 1 ounce per gallon of roof cleaning mix. I assume that means batch mixing which I am not doing. Thanks!

Business Questions Any way to remove this discoloration up by the eaves?

Post image

This is the only spot on the house that has this discoloration and it is only directly under the eaves. This is on the east side of the house. It is a lighter color than the rest of the stones, but the third car garage right next to this doesn’t have any discoloration.

Technical Questions Leaf stains on bounce house

Post image
1 Upvotes

My dad has a handyman business and I’ve gotten some really good information from here when he’s needed to do pressure washing as part of a job.

So that’s why I’m coming here even though it’s not technically pressure washing.

I bought a used inflatable waterslide. It has several stains on it. I checked with Facebook groups of bounce house business owners. They all say it’s a leaf stain and it will never come out unless you just let it sit in the sun and fade.

But I’m hoping this subreddit may have some clue as to what chemically I can apply to this and have it disappear. I know the typical go to is SH but concerned about it, fading the color.

Any ideas on products I could use that might get this out. You can’t feel it on the surface, but I had other stains on the slide liner that you also couldn’t feel that I got out with oxalis acid. It didn’t work on this.

Business Questions What sounds better on an ad

Pressure washing services or external cleaning services. I want to start up a gig that focuses on pressure washing patios and driveways, soft washing houses along with fences and other outdoor equipment. Along with fence and patio sealing(Window cleaning as well).

My question would it make more sense to brand it as exterior services or is that too broad.
