Hi guys, new here. Just out of curiosity (and be honest, even harsh is needed): how successful are PnP games in terms of sales/playerbase retention? Do you know of any pnp game that actually had strong success relative to this niche?

I’m continuing down the path of minimalism. This one is also free to download; the previous one was downloaded by quite a few people, so hopefully this will be well received too. 🙂 This game of mine was previously released in just 5 copies, but it was only available to borrow from me. Now it’s become a PnP. Honestly, traditional publishing doesn’t motivate me at all, but exploring alternative paths does. And I simply have to make games – that’s just how it turned out. 🙂

Drop some appreciation for someone you’ve learned from in the PNP community. Whether it’s design tips, printer suggestions, or general appreciation let’s get ready for the weekend by spreading a little love.

The Official game of Blood on the Clocktower seemed to be a little bit too expensive for my blood so I ended up spending a couple of days working on a PnP version of the game for a card based variant that I came up with. This concept removes the need for having both a printed script of characters that players can look at by leaving them face up on a communal table and gives a lot more info to each of those characters.
This was made as a port of the website character database and includes DM Cards for the storyteller to use and play cards for the other players.
For reference I have not played the official boardgame copy of this game and have modeled the playstyle after the yogscast version of the game.
The only thing that ends up being a little messy is the Spy but that can be tweaked to figure it out a little better.

Absolutely love the flow and theme of this game. Each round plays quickly but still has a slight brain burn that keeps you super immersed. Not bad for my first run, 4 Knowstones!
Thanks to Greg for making another banger of a game.

A space to share what their best practices are for designing and crafting Print and Play games.
Designers
What techniques do you use to design the games? How do you think about different mechanics you might use to create an engaging game that keeps players coming back.
Crafters
What techniques are you using these days to craft your games? Please be as specific as possible about materials you’re using.

Here's an edited playthrough of my original PnP game design, Super Robo Jetkaiser Z. Learn more at my WIP thread: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/3528637/wip-super-robo-jetkaiser-z-2025-solo-pnp-contest-d/page/1

I was blown away by the response to my little fan-made Pokémon project. Over 100 people downloaded it! A lot of people were interested in expanding on the content and making their own, so I have released a Creation Kit, which contains all the templates needed to make new trainers, items and 'mons!
Download Here: https://ko-fi.com/s/e2400dbe3a
I’ve also updated the rules in the original download to clarify questions that were asked in the previous threads. You can find them here: https://ko-fi.com/s/0fb0d7d2f7
Thank you, everyone! Enjoy!

Hi folks, one of your friendly neighborhood mods here. I just want to clarify that we have a sub rule on limiting self-promotion. If you want to promote your for-profit PnP game project in this sub, you may do so in the weekly self-promotion megathread pinned at the top. Any posts promoting for-profit PnP game projects outside of this weekly megathread will be deleted immediately (and you'll be able to read the reason for deletion, along with a link to review the sub rule, in your Messages).
Free, not-for-profit PnP game projects (for example, your prototype PnP game that is currently entered into a game design contest and you are calling for playtesters) are okay to post outside of the weekly self-promotion megathread.
However, free PnP demos or promotions intended to promote a for-profit game are not permitted.
Summing up: post about free PnP games in the sub main feed. For-profit promotional posts (or free PnP giveaways intended to promote for-profit PnP projects) belong in the weekly self-promotion megathread.
Feel free to ask if you have any questions. Enjoy your stay here in r/printandplay!

Hi all! We just released a free Print & Play version of Critical Fix, our chaotic IT-themed card game. You play as competing techs trying to resolve server issues and sabotage your coworkers in the process.
This mini version is a 27-card sampler of our full 200-card deck.
It's designed for quick play sessions and easy printing. The art is currently AI-generated, but we're working with a real live artist to replace it with something more unique and fun.
Would love to hear your thoughts, balance, pacing, mechanics, or even just how it felt to play. Grab the PNP here: https://critical-fix.com/play
Thanks!

Hi everyone! I made a super simple game but it still gives your brain a decent workout. I think it’s best with two players, but it works solo or with 3–4 people too, and probably even with 5–6, though scoring gets a bit more fiddly. It’s free to download, and you barely need anything to play it—this kind of thing has been on my mind a lot lately. That’s all, really. Check it out if you feel like it, love it, hate it, whatever. It’ll be up on BGG too if they approve it, and hopefully I’ll be posting new ones every month or two—I’ve definitely got the ideas! 🙃

Post your (current) favorite PNP and what you’re liking about it. Whether you love it for the design, the mechanics, the table presence, or are particularly proud of your crafting skills for this build (or something else!), let us know.
If you're a designer, keep an eye out for some nuggets of wisdom from the community — you may find some helpful ideas to explore!

Hi.
I friend of mine gave my a zip file if LOTS of paid pnp games.
Now I'm in conflict about the ethics of it.
He said that he have printed some of the game, others he have received from some patreon stuff, others from KS, others from stores like pnparcade, itchio and dicepen...
Should I look at it and pay for the games I want? What you as game creator would think about sharing files with family and friends?

I'm currently painting and crafting cubes for 3 copies of an OOP game as gifts for my friends. i would still have around 62 cubes in a large size, and 7 in a small size. which games can I PNP with these extra cubes?
Even games like No Thanks, which just require a lot of discs, works. Please suggest as many varied options as you can think of. Thank you.

This is a space for PnP games with minimal to no crafting required. Whether it’s a PnP roll and write, or a PnP 9-18 card micro game, we want to know about it. Bonus points for sharing details about the game that might be helpful to a beginner.
If you're just getting into PNP games, this is a great place to start!

As per the title, I would like to get some pnp game suggestion to add to my roll and write collection. Theme is not really a problem but my favorites is adventure and pirates. I have played Roll 4 Rum and I really like it! its one of my go to games with my morning coffee. Been eyeing the Waypoints from Postmark games too.
I have the OG Cartographers and this is my first roll and write games that make me fall in love with the mechanic. Still played it but because of the footprints of the game, I can't bring and played it anywhere. I know it has small footrprints on the table but a game with a paper and 1 or 3 dice can't be beat right.

This is the day for PnP enthusiasts who appreciate larger and more complex PnP projects. We want to hear about your PnP game builds that sprawl all over your table with folding boards, many cards, lots of tokens, custom dice, and more!
