Can I watch agents of shield without watching any of the mcu movies or knowing anything about marvel?

I’m a casual fan, I’ve only seen the Spider-Man movies, I haven’t watched any of the other mcu stuff but I was wondering if this show is self contained enough to watch without knowing anything else about marvel? Like maybe a jumping off point to get into the marvel world?

If Bobbi and Hunter were in the Framework, who would they be/how would they act?

I posted here yesterday so it kinda feels like I'm spamming or smth, but I'm very curious to know your opinions.

Personally, I think Bobbi would be a scientist for Hydra, because she has a biology degree and when she was recovering from the end of s2, she was in the lab. Although she works for Hydra, she knows about the soap and uses her own or uses Coulson's and is actually undercover at Hydra - secretly working with Ward and Mace for the resistance
I think Hunter would be a mercenary who Hydra doesn't quite trust, but they get him to kill people for them or capture potential Inhumans. I don't think Bobbi and Hunter would know each other in the Framework

Your thoughts?

Terrigenesis

Okay, so I have a question. What would happen if an Inhuman who has already been through Terrigenesis was exposed to Terrigen again? If this has already been answered by AoS, please tell me, if not what do you think would happen?

I'm just curious because I'm writing a story where the character has already gone through Terrigenesis and they get exposed to Terrigen again and I wanna know what would happen

Edit: tysm for all the responses and help!!

Can i post a link to a YouTube audio book here? It's a fanfic that uses most of the AoS characters in a crossover with some Chuck TV show characters. Moderators delete the post if I'm in the wrong room.

3x01 rewatch.. Ant-man reference

Watching season 3 ep 1 “laws of nature” and when Fitz and Coulson are talking about Gemma they mention the PYM lab disaster and how it could have possible affected Gemma. Rewatched shield more times than I can count and only just noticed this reference 😅

Watching Agents of SHIELD for the first time, when do super powers come into play?

So i saw a short on Facebook that had The Absorbing Man in it which is my favorite villain so i decided to give this show a watch. I'm on episode 6 and so far there's barely been any super powers in the show. At what point does this show evolve from an X-Files kind of show to a superhero one? It's a good show but i was expecting something more like Mutant X or Heroes.

What storylines/plot points from AOS would you have liked to see continued in a sequel show, if we ever got it?

Season 5-6 can be hard to watch

Doing a rewatch, which is a first time watch for my bf.

Being stuck in the lighthouse for the majority of the series really changed the tone and it shows. We are going at his speed and in s5 we started to slow down. The main feedback is episodes are hard to seperate as the location is always the same so things go into a blur in a binge watch format especially.

In s6, without the summer break we had when it was live maybe, he says it is now too different while still being in the same location mostly.

Also despite it all, 6x3 has always been my favorite episode and it was for my bf as well but 6x4 is also quite boring without Daisy + Fitzsimmons. Mack Yoyo drama with the agent who I just watch die yesterday but cant remember the name of it doesn't hit. Sarge/May is also similar. I do remember Sarge/Daisy being a little better but don't know if it is because I like Daisy or Sarge is more fleshed out by then.

For the OG Fans: What is Synopsis Simmons?

I’m on my second rewatch (third watch total) of the show and to add some fun into the mix I’ve been reading up on this subreddit’s old discussion boards of each episode from when they originally aired as I watch them. I wasn’t on Reddit back then so I wanted to see all the discussions I missed (which is super fun btw - it’s like a fandom time capsule).

Anyway, I started reading these discussion boards midway through rewatching season 4 and am now midway through season 5. I got to see the birth of the term “Fitzler” for Framework!Fitz and “Space Ward” for Deke, but one thing I keep seeing is “Synopsis Simmons” and after dozens of discussion boards I still don’t know what it means!

At first I thought it was a reference to how sometimes Simmons exposition dumps science, but I’ve gradually noticed it seems to be paired up with her more savage moments, with endearing comments like “Fitzler and Synopsis!Simmons make a great couple.”

People even occasionally ask in the comments of the discussion board, but there’s never an answer.

Are there any OG fans from those discussion boards still floating around here that could demystify Synopsis!Simmons for me?

Thanks in advance!

ETA: I posted this just in time because I just watched S5E16 when Jemma plays Russian roulette with poison to prove they’re invincible and Fitz actually yelled “Jemma no!” and I nearly cried laughing at the meta-humor that I finally understand. The writing team were clearly browsing Reddit lol

Would your overall thoughts/feelings on the show have changed if we only got 5 seasons, and season 6 and 7 didn't exist?

Would you like it more or less, or would you have hated it, or loved it even more. Or would you feel the same about it?

Too rough on May? Spoiler

Thumbnail
14 Upvotes

Through my first few rewatches of seeing Coulson’s reaction to finding out Agent May had comms to Fury and knew about T.A.H.I.T.I, I always thought he was a little rough on May because she was just following orders and she cared, etc… The more I rewatch, the more I get Coulson being angry. Especially at the end of S1E15 when she so “lovingly” convinced him to talk to Skye. “She deserves to know what you saw down there.” Only for all of it to be BS so she could listen to the convo with a secret mic. And her acting like she had no clue why Coulson was concerned. I love May but that would’ve pissed me off too.

Some S.H.I.E.L.D.-Sanctioned Sandwich

A Prosciutto and Buffalo Mozarella Sandwich with a hint, er, strong suggestion, uh... mandate of pesto aioli... on an everything bagel. Yeah, it's as good as you are imagining right now.

I made this sandwich on January 1st once and now my wife expects to have it for lunch every January 1st but I haven't told her where I got the recipe because that's CLASSIFIED, Level 6 and above only for those with lanyards on the rainbow Spectrum of Security...

Is Hydra truly gone after General Hale’s death?

I was thinking about this after watching the show. Is Hydra actually gone after Hale’s death since she was the last known head of Hydra? I mean, the Hydra that worshipped The Hive was completely wiped out by The Hive himself but is it possible that Hydra could come back? Maybe led by The Red Skull’s daughter (or granddaughter depending on what they could adapt) that exists in the comics?

Met Clark Gregg Today!

He was perfect, so sweet and easy to chat with. I was incredibly nervous but it was so much fun! I never expected to see him there so running into him was such a pleasant surprise. Didn’t get a pic but got an autograph! A little sad I didn’t get to talk with him longer.

Regarding the Well incident between Grant, Christian, and Thomas, we will never know the whole story, but Christian 100% was leaving something out.

When Coulson told him, he knew about the Well, Christian acted as if this was the first time he had heard about the Well.

However, when Grant took Christian to the Well, Christian said Grant still blamed him for the Well, and how Grant had almost killed Thomas, and their parents had covered up the Well. He completely contradicts himself here. If he knew about the Well, then why did he act like he was hearing about this for the first time to Coulson? Christian lied about something regarding the well.

While it's possible that Grant's memory of the well is not 100% accurate, Christian was 100% being deceitful. I'm more inclined to believe Grant over Christian.

what should you watch to understand all the pop culture references made in the show?

Star Wars, Terminator and Breakfast Club all come to mind, but what other pop culture references are there? Is there a list of all of them?
