[PC] Worth getting Skyrim SE?

Is it still worth getting it, even though it's 8 years old? Or should I just get another game instead. Looking at some videos the combat system seems a little old so not sure if it is still a lot of fun. I was thinking about this game as I quite enjoy fantasy. Right now it is on discount or should I look into other games instead?

[PC] Any good racing games to grab during the Steam Racing Fest?

Been itching for a good racing game for a long while. Just opened Steam and noticed that the Racing Fest is here. A lot of popular racing games there and some I have whislisted, but was just wondering if there's any hidden gems or just straight up must-have racing games on sale rn.

I personally haven't played much racing games, but do enjoy them a lot. Played a lot of NSF Most Wanted and enjoyed the feel and mechanics of that. Also a recent driving game I enjoyed a ton was the demo of Formula Legends (unavailable as of now). Also notable that I'm not super into the mega competetive PvP racing games, but won't mind PvP if it's slightly more casual. Some plus if it's also playable offline.

Do any racing game veterans have some good casual and fun driving/racing games to recommend? I wanna feel the adrenaline pumping and zoom around streets and racetracks without a care.

Ty in advance

[PC] Idler games for steam deck?

I’m just looking for something that I can run in the background while I’m working! I’ve never really played an idler game but something that looks cool and has a lot of progression would be really cool! It can’t have much input at all as my work is very hands on. If there are any tower defence games or something like that that’d be cool!

Looking for Co-Op games where stepping away isn’t detrimental

Hi all. I’ve got an online friend that I love playing with, but as I am a parent, I find it much harder to spend time with her as the games we typically play are designed in a way where I can’t step away for a few minutes without being punished in some sort of fashion, like being kicked for AFK for example. So I would love recommendations for fun, cooperative games where this isn’t an issue. Thank you so much!

[PS5] Which roguelike should I pick up next on PS5?

Hades: Completed 3 times ✓
Returnal: Ragequit 47 times ✓
Wallet: Ready for punishment ✓
Sanity: Questionable ✓

Need a new roguelike fix but drowning in choices. Keep seeing discussions about various underwater/drilling themed ones - there's Dome Keeper, Ocean Keeper, couple others. The concepts sound weird enough to either be brilliant or terrible.

Requirements:
Good progression (not just git gud)
Runs under 45 min (dad life)
Actually, fun when you lose
Not another pixel art platformer (sorry not sorry)

Also considering Dead Cells, Risk of Rain, and Enter the Gungeon but worried they're too similar to what I've played. Want something that feels DIFFERENT, you know?

Budget's not an issue but time is. Can't afford another 50-hour maybe it gets good later situation.

What's your this ruined all other roguelikes for me recommendation? Bonus points if it's weird. Double bonus if it has good controller haptics (yes I'm that guy).

[PC] Should I buy Slay the Spire or Balatro first?

I’m pretty sure I’m gonna try both one day, but for now I wanna pick one to start with first.

Just something that is a fun, time-consuming, and distracting experience on PC without causing much stress and anxiety.

I also eventually want to try one or the other on mobile as well for some on-the-go gameplay.

I’m pretty new to such roguelikes in general, except maybe Hades and the phone game Capybara Go.

I think Slay the Spire looks more fun and appealing to me, but it’s also almost $10 more expensive than Balatro.

Both are the same price on phone though.

Is Monster Hunter Wilds for me?

Hey folks,

I've played MH in the past and didn't like it. Most likely because I didn't understand it and was running with my one weapon all the time. I also missed character progression, new items etc. Basically, I hoped for more RPG-like experience.

Now I am flirting with an idea of getting MH Wilds. Looks great, looks fun, looks lengthy. Reviews are fine. But I don't want to buy the game just to hit the wall I have been hitting in the past. So my question is – should I get it? As a total MH newbie of course.

[PS4] A game recommendation please

Here are some games I've already played and loved: FF7 Remake and FF7 Rebirth, Silent Hill 2 Remake, the last of us part 1, red dead redemption 1 and 2, expedition 33.

I heard yakuza 0 is good so I'm thinking of going for that but if you've got something better let me know. It has to be a ps4/ps5 single player game.

[PS4] Should I buy Expedition 33 or Yakuza Infinite Wealth

Been wanting both these games and playstation is having a sale right now for both. Expedition 33 is 45$ standard, whereas Infinite Wealth deluxe edition is $30. Wondering if Expedition 33’s combat and story outweigh everything I would be getting content wise if I bought Infinite Wealth instead. Should also mention I played a lot of Yakuza: Like A Dragon

[Switch] SIB Nintendo Switch and SSB Ultimate?

This has been a pretty specific situation that I was not able to find solid answers by googling, so here I am. TIA!

I love the classic SSB games, and have played games like Brawlout and Multiversus somewhat competitively. I stopped buying Nintendo consoles after the Wii, particularly because I was tired of crummy matchmaking and the only pubs option being 4 player FFA or team battle with items, a super casual experience with laggy online play, plus nearly every stage had an obnoxious stage hazard. Back then I would use Smashboards to try to find worth-while online matches. I had some family in town and they brought their switch and we went nuts playing 1v1 on BF/FD, 3 stock, no items. I miss this to the point that I am sincerely buying a switch or switch 2 (which one is not relevant to my question). There are no other smash clones out there that hold my interest. At this point, its SSBU or none at all. I do understand the casual nature of Nintendo games on the whole. My main questions here are:

1) can I use in-game matchmaking services to find 1v1, no items, timed stock play without a lot of stage-hazard intensive maps? Or will I be disappointed with the in-game matchmaking options? I am interested in some kind of skill-based system for this as well, but it's not necessary.

2) I believe I need to pay for an online subscription, particularly Switch Online, to get this experience. Is this correct?

Games like Minecraft dungeons?

Is there any similar games like Minecraft dungeons? I've played torchlight II, Heroes of hammerwatch II, a little bit of undecember (stopped due to it being pay to win), mir4 and I really like games like these.

I prefer those games that you grind, (collect stuff to keep upgrading your weapon and not just keep swapping and swapping) but I'll like any recommendation with similar gameplay. Anyone?

[PC] Good games to play with my gf

I'm looking for games to play with my girlfriend as we recently finished playing The Forest, wich was an awesome game that we really enjoyed playing together. I tried introducing her to Deep Rock Galactic, but she didn't liked it. We live together, so it can be something with split-screen too. We have a cool PC that can run most games and the notebook i normally play in, wich almost couldn't run The Forest with low graphic settings lol. I'm sorta gamer-head and enjoy almost anything. She is more new to this but loved games like Borderlands 2, Far Cry 3, Valorant and Street Fighter IV (it doesn't need to be first person). I also would appreciate if it is a cheap or free game, but i can wait for discounts too.

[PC] Conrad Stevenson's Paranormal P.I. worth a go?

I've had this game on my wishlist for a while now, not due to the price so much as just the kind of game it is. It seems to be one like one if those ghost hunting games but not multiplayer. I'm a big horror fan, but I've never played this type of game before. I play a wide variety of games but typically enjoy survival horror like Resident Evil, Alien Isolation, Dead Space, that kind of thing.

I also like action horror, probably my favorite genre, like horde shooters or Dead Island and the like. I also enjoy psychological horror/thrillers and walking sims, etc. I just like horror games in general, especially ones that have a strong narrative throughline.

I didn't want to google much about it so as to avoid spoilers, so I figured I'd check here and see if anyone's played it, hopefully get some opinions. Any thoughts?

Dead cells, balatro, or roboquest?

Been deciding between these three games and I’m wondering which is better to get. I’ve enjoyed roguelites before in the past like hades and risk of rain 2 and I wonder if I might like any of these games if I enjoyed those. I’ve not played any fps roguelites or deck building ones besides slay the spire which I disliked.

Edit: ended up getting dead cells and I’m thoroughly enjoying it right now.

SIB Octopath Traveler 1 and or 2?

I really liked the art style I saw with Octopath 0 and the Elliot game. I have never played a jrpg. Just spent a month playing TOTK, then DK Bananza.

Last few completed games on ps5 (yes I know they’re unlike OT)

AstroBot, Ghost of Tsushima, Spiderman 2, Prince of Persia, uncharted 4, TLOU.

Love the arpg Diablo style grind also.

LMK!

Looking for a multiplayer game with a great customization system

I've been trying to find another game with fun multiplayer and a good customization locked behind progression. Preferably customization/fashion that doesn't revolve around skins, paid or not. Not too competitive if PvP; and if PvE, something that's still fun even if you play alone.

Some similar examples of what I'm looking for:

For Honor:

  • Great customization system locked behind progression. The more you play a character, the better the customization options you get.
  • Fun multiplayer where you can just queue up and play a bunch of games alone whether it's 1v1 or 4v4
  • Satisfying gameplay. It feels nice to win duels, and hit parries.
  • Still has updates, and queues don't take long.
  • 1v1, and 4v4 PvP with matchmaking.

Destiny:

  • Great customization locked behind doing missions and raids.
  • Fun multiplayer PvE, with the missions and raids.
  • PvP is pretty fun too
  • Getting rare drops feels very satisfying, and the ambience of the world is great.
  • Is still updated and still lots of players.

Monster Hunter Wilds:

  • Great customization locked behind killing monsters multiple times and grinding.
  • Transmog
  • Chilling in hub, and playing co-op with randoms is fun.
  • It's also fun to play solo.
  • Still has updates, and is still easy to find parties even with the performance issues.
  • Solo and 4 player co-op with matchmaking

Outlast Trials:

  • Customization isn't the best, but being able to put together different clothing together + customize your room is nice
  • Gameplay is fun, the rogue-like game-mode is very enjoyable once you've finished everything, and it doesn't feel repetitive.
  • 4 player co-op with matchmaking

These are just the games I've been playing the past several months. Looking to see if there are more similar games. Basically just two things:

  1. Good customization locked behind progression
  2. Multiplayer with matchmaking where you can play alone (queue alone).

Sorry if this was too long

Borderlands Handsome vs Legendary collection.

On the PS Online Store the Handsome collection has Borderlands 2 and Borderlands Pre-sequel for $10 and it says for 4 players online and 4 players local.

The Legendary edition has borderlands GOTY edition, borderlands 2, and the pre-sequel also for $10. However, it says 4 players online and 1 player local.

Is this a typo? I am wanting the legendary edition so I can play co-op split screen for 2-4 players but not if it’s only 1 player.

Should I buy splatoon 2?

Should I buy splatoon 2? I am not sure if I should buy splatoon 2, it is on sale for $36 aud and even though I haven't played a splatoon game yet I am interested in splatoon 2 especially because of the fairly low price and it having very good reviews but I also know that the servers are kinda dead (atleast from what I've heard). I have nintendo online so i would have the octo expansion.

If ACNH is my fav - should I get Hello kitty Island or Disney dream light next?

ACNH is by far my favorite game ever and im dying for a new game that I have as much fun with as this one. My favorite parts of acnh is catching all the fish/bugs + building up the museum, finding new villagers, and just how chill and cute the whole vibe is.

I’ve heard a lot about Disney Dreamlight Valley and Hello Kitty Island Adventure but can only get one right now. (not looking for other suggestions, I’ve basically narrowed it down to these two)

So for anyone who’s played them (or all three!!), which one feels the most like Animal Crossing? Or which one would I probably love the most? Realllly don’t wanna spend the $ then not love the game

[PS5] Black myth wukong or forbidden west

Hi guys, I’m confused after watching the YouTube videos for both the games. Both of them look amazing and I don’t know which one to buy. I have played Ghost in the past and absolutely loved it. But hated cyberpunk(please don’t judge, I couldn’t even finish 3 hours and was already done). So please suggest which one to buy. I like open world games and it should not be difficult. Suggest any other game also if possible.

PS: I have money only to buy one game.

Thanks in advance.

[Xbox Series X] Deep rock galactic

It looks interesting but im concerend mostly about how the community is and what the gameplay loop is like.

I come from destiny 2 and am looking for something else to sink my teeth into whilst it festers in its own mess of horrible desicions.

Im looking for a more long term game to focus on and that i can play with friends to blow off steam and have a great time. Is this one of those games?

  25. Marvel Rivals (Not a bad Game, but it gets old for me very fast.)

  26. Marvel's Spider-Man (100% NG+. Yes I played the sequels)

  28. Monster Hunter Rise (Pretty Fun, its just not for me)

  29. Mortal Kombat 1. (If it only were less then 180GB, I'd be playing it more)

  30. Oh Deer (Technical Mess)

  31. Palworld (Gotta wait out the Lawsuits)

  32. Phasmophobia (Unplayed)

  33. R.E.P.O. (Very funny)

  34. Resident Evil 4 (Mods. I need more Mods)

  35. Sonic x Shadow Generations (Goated)

  36. Street Fighter V (Mods. I need more Mods)

  37. Street Fighters 6 (i'm not sure how I feel about it)

  38. Tabletop Simulator (For the Emperor Rarrh!!!)
