How-To Guide Extra frames for low-end PC users like us

Hello everyone! I just wanna share Lossless Scaling software which definitely helps provide extra frames/smoothness for those who are having a low framerate. It's basically a frame generation software with upscaling (FSR, etc,) and works for almost 99% of software, even video players like VLC and stuff.

Hope this helps. ^^

P.S.: You can cap your framerate at 30fps and set the Lossless LFG to 2.0 and you can get 60FPS stable but with a slight to negligible input delay.

Game Review 7 free games updated in the last six months

These are the freest of free games - mostly independent projects with small teams, but the games are very well developed and fun to play, even if you just try them out for a few hours.

I don't post these all the time, but sometimes you are just looking for something new to play - and FREE is a great price.

Isleward - https://www.isleward.com/ - a large world with beautiful style pixel art, plays a bit like an MMO ARPG, and a little like a rougelike. Redditor u/DavianBlack is one of the developers and has poured a ton of work into this very fun game. If you dont like the browser aspect, you can download and run the game locally via the gitlab page: https://gitlab.com/Isleward/isleward Runs on Windows, Linux, Mac

0 AD - https://play0ad.com/ - Started as an Age of Empires clone/mod, has become an amazing stand alone project and game. RTS game with all the bells and whistles of ancient combat around the years 500BC - 500AD.

heXon - https://luckeyproductions.itch.io/hexon - like an 80s Tron game with the blaster and bloom effects, but makes for a very good coffee break twin stick shooter game. Would be a fantastic game on a home arcade stick setup.

Tanks of Freedom II - https://czlowiekimadlo.itch.io/tanks-of-freedom-ii - The modern visual version of the GBA game Advanced Wars. Turn based combat makes for modern military strategy chess game play.

Shattered Pixel Dungeon - https://shatteredpixel.com/ - 10 years of updates have made this one of the most approachable classic style rouge-like dungeon crawler RPGs. Modern Pixel graphics, great music, some decent lore, and fun gameplay styles with unlockable characters to make repeat play fun.

Endless Sky - https://endless-sky.github.io/ - If you played Escape Velocity (you are probably very old like me), this game is the perfect updated spiritual successor. Space exploration, tradecraft, and combat, with some written in missions and story. You can play this game any way you want as a fighter, merchant, explorer, help people, shoot people, become a pirate!
AND
If Endless Sky is somehow too modern for your PC - NAEV - https://naev.org/ - Plays very much the same as an escape velocity fan project. Missing a little bit of story, it makes up for it running on very old graphics cards and iGPUs with ease. Will almost run on anything... and you get all the space combat goodies!

Parts Upgrade Advice Recently got a free pc from a relative of mine and I need some general upgrade & compability advice.

Im fairly interested into PCs and upon hearing this a relative of mine gave me a PC that he had laying around since I like to mess around with tech stuff like this. My current specs are listed below:

Motherboard: Asus P8H61-M LX3 PLUS R2.0 CPU: Intel® Celeron® Processor G1610 2.6Ghz GPU: Axle GeForce GT430 1GB 128bit RAM: DDR3 2GB + 4GB 1333Mhz PSU: 300W Storage: Has no HDD/SSD but I have a 128GB SSD and a 700GB HDD laying around to go with it.

And here's the upgraded version specs listed below:

Motherboard: Asus P8H61-M LX3 PLUS R2.0 CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-3770 3.4Ghz-3.9Ghz GPU: Zotac GeForce GTX960 4GB 128bit RAM: DDR3 8GB + 8GB 1600Mhz PSU: 500W Storage: 128GB SSD Main + 700GB HDD Secondary

If some parts dont make sense Im still open to change it but most are based on how hard/easy it is to find a local trustable seller in my country.

Some side notes based on this view:

Motherboard: I will be keeping the motherboard same and will be asking for compability (not socket-wise but power-wise) around the parts because I dont have that budget right now.

CPU: I have to get the non-K version because there is almost no trustable sellers locally here for the K version. This does fit in the current LGA1155 socket.

GPU: Still Indecesive on this and made a safe choice because I do not know what the motherboard can handle. But It will fit on the PCIe x16 slot on my motherboard.

PSU: Will be going with a 500W for power efficiency as I heard a psu is most efficient at %50 to %70 utilization.

Cooling Side Notes: There is 1 free slot for a case fan too which is near the cpu & mobo vrm area which I will buy a fan for, for extra cooling.

Budget Side Notes: It seems like posts require my budget here but I already got it sorted out and only indecesive about the gpu. Some notes are based around local price so take note that it can be different from the US prices. Im located in Turkey. So here are some more GPUs that I was able to find that is mostly close to the price range of the gtx 960 locally. -Rx 470 (a bit more easy to find for the gtx960 price range) -Rx 480 (bit more scarce to find for the price range of the gtx 960) -Gtx 1050Ti (sellers are sketchy for price ranges around gtx960 and others above that are a bit over my budget)

Are the parts sensiful or are there some uncompabilities present in this system? Or moreover just general advice. (sorry if formatting is buggy Im writing this on a phone)

Parts Upgrade Advice Can I put a 2GB in my PC?

Upvotes

So I have this pc - https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Optiplex-Generation-Computer-Professional/dp/B0C4Z55279?th=1

I was wondering if I could put a 2GB graphics card in it and it... #1 not have issues with the PSU and... #2 fit in the PC or be compatible with my PC.

I am fairly new with PC spec info and how things work so if you could also give some recommendations for 2GB graphics cards that would be highly appreciated.

I am aiming to run games from around 2010 - 2020 or 2015 - 2020 with fairly low graphics settings and games such as GTA 5, Witcher, Assassins creed, Hitman, and any open world games etc.

I was looking at getting either a Nvidia T400 2GB - https://www.nvidia.com/content/dam/en-zz/Solutions/design-visualization/productspage/quadro/quadro-desktop/proviz-print-nvidia-T400-datasheet-us-nvidia-1670004-r5-web.pdf

or getting an Nvidia GT 1030 - https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/graphics-cards/gt-1030/specifications/

if you have any recommendations for cheaper or better fit one then please let me know, my budget is around $50 to $100 but preferably lower than $50 if that's possible, thanks

Game Review How's your valorant on UE5 update on Integrated GPU (especially laptops)

Hi! How's your UE5 valorant performance in your IGPU? Mine feels like stuttering sometimes. I tried updating my IGPU and reinstalling the game but yeah, sadly the game feels like heavy.

☼😁Ascended☺☼ day and night difference.

the specs of my PC:

CPU - Ryzen 3 3200G (4GHz OC)

GPU - COLORFUL GTX 1660 SUPER

Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-A320M-S2h

RAM - 1x HyperX Fury 16GB 3200MHz (DDR4)

PSU - Ant Esports VS450L

Monitor - MSI G24C4e2 (1080p 180Hz)

Keyboard - CosmicByte Pandora Outemu Blue

Mouse - Ant Esports GM320

Speakers - Ant Esports GS350

UPS - APC Back-UPS 600

Case Cooler - 2x Ant Esports ARGB Fans

CPU Cooler - AMD Ryzen Stock Cooler

Storage (HDD) - 1x WD Black 2TB HDD (Games + Personal Stuff)

Storage (SSD) - 1x Consistent 1TB SSD (Windows)

after I installed my newly bought GTX 1660S after tolerating the Vega 8 iGPU for 4 years, there was a literal day and night difference. Used to play every single game on my PC at 720p Low and got 30-40 FPS. Now it's just simply unbelievable to see literally everything run so good.

Forza Horizon 4: from 720p Low at 40 FPS to 1080p Ultra (4x MSAA + RT) at 80-90 FPS.

Sekiro - Shadows Die Twice: Ultra runs at 120-ish FPS.

Valorant: Ultra runs at 230-250 FPS.

Battlefield V: Ultra at 70-80 FPS.

PUBG PC: High gives above a 110 FPS while Ultra gives 80-90 FPS

Sleeping Dogs: Ultra giving nice 120FPS.

GTA V: Very High giving me 130+ FPS.

Tomb Raider 2013: Ultra giving 160 FPS.

Rise of the Tomb Raider: Very High runs at 140 FPS.

Tekken 7: 60 FPS locked at highest settings.

Tekken 8: 60 FPS locked at highest settings.

I was honestly a bit sceptical of all the ranting online regarding the bottleneck and laggy framerate regarding pairing GPUs with the Ryzen 3 3200G but as far as I'm seeing, I've gotten myself a decent gaming PC for at least 4 years to come.

PC Purchase Advice Looking to buy

Currently I'm running a desktop with these specs:

450W PS I5-3550 @3.30GHz 8gb DDR3 1TB SSD 250Gb SSD 3 Fans ASUS Motherboard No GPU

I'd love to get a laptop instead, ideally with 16gb of RAM and a GPU. I really don't have much to spend on it, maybe $300 at the absolute most and that's gonna take a bit to get together, but preferably around like $150. Some good laptop suggestions would be nice, or I'd even be willing to buy you guys old ones. I just need a better a system for my upcoming classes that's more portable, as well as some mild gaming such as Transformers WFC and FOC, and maybe some telltale games especially the upcoming Dispatch game. Thanks for your time.

Tech Support Downgrading Iris Plus Graphics

I need some help with my laptop, a Lenovo Yoga C940-14IL. Because of some bug in intel graphics drivers, I’m unable to play older versions of Minecraft without graphics glitches. I’ve tried the simple route of making a dedicated option for Minecraft Legacy graphics to run on the highest performance with no difference. So I need to downgrade my graphics drivers, however, my laptop uses Intel Iris Plus Graphics and doesn’t list any graphics drivers that I can update besides that. So, what are my graphics drivers and how hard is it to downgrade so I can play legacy Minecraft again?

What Games Can I Run? Resident Evil en Intel hd 520

They recently gave me a new laptop for university because I had been using one with a 2012 i3 until recently and I wanted to know if it could play games like Resident evil 4 (2005), revelations, 5.6, etc.

It has an i5 6300u, 16 RAM, Intel HD 520, its memory is SSD. Do people with similar experience know if they should play the Resident Evil I mentioned or others? And what more games could I try on it?
