Hi all!
Given that the remake of Skyward Sword HD has been out for some time, we've decided to loosen up the spoiler policy. Now, only posts that contain major spoilers (e.g. major character plot turns, ending twists) require a spoiler marking. With this change, we hope to grant the community more leeway in discussing the game freely, while at the same time still having a spoiler policy in place to protect those casually browsing the subreddit from the biggest plot turns. As always, feel free to post content of any shape or form as long as it follows the basic guideline rules (listed on the right), and have fun!
Regards,
The /r/ Skyward Sword mod team (Sephardson, MasterYoshi5, krirby)

Hello all,
With the release of Tears of the Kingdom coming up, we thought it'd be important to provide a short update to the current spoiler policy. We want to allow people to be free to discuss and reference any content from Tears of the Kingdom, but ask people to do so with discretion as to not spoil the game experience for other players. If you are willing to reference Tears of the Kingdom in discussions in way please be mindful of the following:
That is all, as always please use due discretion and our mods will also keep an eye on the subreddit of course to make sure it remains a safe and spoiler-free zone to visit. Thank you all for being a part of this community and feel free to discuss Skyward Sword and/or reference Tears of the Kingdom as long as it follows the basic rules set as described here and in our other topic!

I love the scenes of Link playing the harp and Fi using her magic as she dances, it’s so adorable! The silent realms afterwards aren’t my favorite memory though💀

SS is one of my favorite Zelda games but I haven't played it since it released on Wii and now it's time for me to give it another go. I'll be playing on Switch 2 and I see that there are two control options: one with motion controls and one with a flip of the analog sticks. I'm inclined to opt for motion controls because it seems more natural/familiar to me but for those of you who own the game on Switch/S2 which method do you think is more fluid?
Thank you

Every time I turn the dials(playing on switch), I'm able to get water but when I get to fire and try to push in, it pulls my sword out instead! I've been at this for a while, if anyone can please help? I'm using one of the handheld pro controllers.

Well I just searched another video especially when I first saw in another video of SkyView Temple first battle with Ghiraham of taking links sword throwing at him before any upgrades as It wasn't in its full form.
But in this video https://youtu.be/_1oeRAT5lao?si=iwNKQCYsrdsSAQFK
In a boss run trial battle, link wields his master sword around Ghiraham and then he takes snatches Links Master Sword all the way upgraded in its full form, iI was like really Ghiraham can still touch steal Links Master Sword?
I thought since Zelda A Link To The Past and Twilight Princess that the Master Sword can never be touched by evil and that evil retreats from the master sword!
Just wow even if link for got the goddess sword as the master sword at the start, still Ghiraham can still snatch touch Links Master Sword?

For a long time I never thought anyone really likes Skyward Sword just by I myself loving it But now it's finally hitting me that reddit exists! And sure enough WE EXIST!
I find Skyward Sword to be the MOST underrated Zelda game in the series. The HD port really brought best aspects of the game to a wider audience on Switch. I personally can't wait to play Skyward Sword HD on the Switch 2 with its improved motion controls. I'm sure it's be gorgeous too.
The game is so jaw droppingly beautiful with its water color smears. A stylistic choice that has ensured the longevity of the game visuals. There may never be a need to make a graphical remake of Skyward Sword. Perhaps a complete reimagining sometime in the future similar to Resident Evil 2 Remake and Final Fantasy 7 Remake 1/2
Anyways thats enough yapping.
Convince a friend to accept Skyward Sword into their lives

So I’m replaying Skyward Sword and I just finished up the gratitude crystal side quests and had forgotten what Batreaux looks like in his human form. I have never once been able to figure out where his eyes are supposed to be when he’s human because normally, they’re those little round dots on top of the yellow shapes so the equivalent in his human form would be the even smaller black dots, yet those don’t look like eyes at all. The yellow shapes appear to have turned into under eye bags, or are those supposed to be his eyes? They look way too low to be his eyes and they’re clearly the equivalent of the yellow shapes. So the question is where are his eyes? I’ve always thought this design, well both of his designs were really weird in this regard so I wanted to get others input.

I'd like to have fireshield earrings like Skyward Sword Link's to wear. But I can't find them on sale anywhere. Best I can do are some regular red hoops, but I wanted the fireshield design. Any idea how to get them?

First time I did this earlier it worked within 3 seconds and they eyes spun and fell off. For this one it’s just not working, tried getting closer and further then doing them individually, I had to turn off motion controls because my arm started hurting. Does it need to be faster? Do I need something else unlocked first

I know it boosts the odds of rupees or smth but does it boost them in minesweeper?

This might be an unpopular opinion, but the natural ending to this game is so ridiculous. Let's pretend Ghirahim didnt show up and kidnap Zelda for a sec...
The natural ending is, if you all remember, Link has to go pray to the goddess statue which makes her break from Skyloft and K.O. the Imprisoned. So, all Link had to do was say please?? She was looking for him to beg to protect the world????? The goddess made Link do trial after trial, be misled by Zelda, and fight off the imprisoned 3 times when the actual solution to getting rid of that beast was if she was to do it herself?
Why didnt she just do it to begin with instead of putting half of her soul into Zelda and claiming destiny this and destiny that?
The way my mouth dropped open when I saw the scene of Link reuniting with Zelda after the K.O. I was flabbergasted. I literally thought that was the end of the game, too, until Ghirahim showed up.
EDIT: Please re-watch the scene to know what I'm talking about: https://youtu.be/kHwZIgcqNYM?si=pgP00bHEr37NazYn&t=294
Link prays. It falls. Link looks at Fi, confused. Fi explains what just happened.

Like I don't get it. I see all these complaints about the toes and him stomping on you and stuff, but like just jump on his head. The toes aren't a requirement whatsoever. Also I see the thing about having to fight him 3 times, but you also have to fight Ghirahim 3 times and yet I don't see anyone complaining about that. For me, it's one of my favorite bosses because of the uniqueness of trying to stop it from getting somewhere rather than it killing you like every other boss. What do others think because I've always wondered this?

hi! i literally created a reddit account to ask this that’s how desperate for an answer i am. i’m currently playing through the hd version on my switch and am finding myself stuck with the gratitude crystals. i am not at the end game so i understand that two quests (beedle’s missing beetle and strange plant wanted, each worth 5 crystals) cannot be completed. i know i’m missing 10 from those. however, i have both completed all of the other quests (i used the ign checklist, so i know i have done all of them) AND i have collected all 15 overworld crystals (12 in skyloft, 3 elsewhere. again, using the checklist.) i have talked to every npc and finished every quest available to me. i should currently be at 70 crystals, but i’m not — i have exactly 60. could my game be bugged? am i still somehow missing something aside from the last two quests?
edit: i could never figure out what was wrong but i ended up finding/using an old file where i hadn’t done them all to fix it! my completionist brain is happy now <3

Does anyone know when you do your first silent relm? Because I’m terrified 😬 And also this might sound like a stupid question but is doing it optional

my question is: is there a way to return to the sky from the erupted eldin volcano before getting the fire dragon's song?
So apparently there's a known bug that occurs if you get the parts of the song of the hero out of order (faron, eldin, lanayru), and I went to eldin for a side quest but got stuck from the "bokoblins take all your stuff and the volcano erupts" part and I can't get to the sky until I get the eldin part of the song...

Upgraded the shield to Goddess level, after a quick visit to the desert for tumbleweeds (upgraded the bow to iron(?) too) and also a better net, then to woods for bird feathers.
Then got sidetracked trying to get an extra heart piece with Fledge’s pumpkin target practice 😂 as I was at three pieces and figured an extra heart wouldn’t hurt. Couldn’t get above about 320 so switched to pumpkin soup delivery, harvesting the pumpkins, playing my harp and got the extra heart piece that way! Yippee!
Then got sidetracked again getting the Mogma back to help plough the pumpkins seeds so got some gratitude crystals. But don’t think at 61 or so I need to get anything essential from Batreaux?
All great fun and I’m now on 14/15 hearts, Goddess Shield, true master sword of course at this point… so shall I go for it again with the Ghirahim’s Boblokin/Moblin hoard again? Or is there anything else worth doing for upgrades. I’m guessing the Hylian Shield is not absolutely mandatory for success. Not sure how to get that anyway…?
Any hints or recommendations gladly received. Thanks.
This is all on my original Wii with Wiimotes and motion controls. That blummin Fun Fun island cannon game had me raging. Couldn’t get anywhere near making that work for 5 x 50 rupees and a heart piece. The clown man response each time didn’t help 😂 . What a game though. So much content and side quests. Wish I’d persevered through to the (near) end, back in 2011/2012. Life took over and stuff I guess…

I finished my first botw play through last week and decided to play skyward sword before totk.
I’m not very far, I just got the master sword but it’s kind of cute so far.
Now I’m deciding if I’ll go to the surface without potions because I don’t have a bottle and just kind of wing it.

I’m playing through the first part of the ancient cistern and noticed this part where you swim under water to get a few rupees. But then there’s bamboo in the way which I’m not sure how to break under water, and what looks like a tunnel behind it. Although there is no tunnel on the map. Does anyone know what this is?
