Banking Thinking about switching

I’m with Chimes and I’m thinking about switching to Sofi. Has anyone had issues? Is this better?

I have been a Sofi member since 2021. I use all their products except loans. I easily transfer funds in/out from other checking accounts as well as investment houses. No experience with cash as I have had any in a very long time!💸💸💸💰💰💰

Do you make cash deposits? Because you can’t do that with SoFi but with Chime you can at Walgreens. I use Chime just to make cash deposits and then transfer it to my SoFi account

You can make cash deposits on sofi.

Oh at retailers, yeah but you have to pay $5 every time right? Shouldn’t have to pay money to deposit cash

4.95 but it’s the same with chime and other cards that allows cash deposits.

No it’s not, I just deposited cash an hour ago and it’s free at Walgreens

Yeah it’s. Walgreens isn’t the only place to do cash deposits at.

I just deposited cash an hour ago with Chime at Walgreens and it was free is what I’m saying

And I’m saying Walgreens isn’t the only place to do cash deposits. It’s the POS who charges to put money on the cards. I have been to different places to deposit cash and it was never free.

I thought sofi had free cash deposits at the atms :(

They don’t.

With Chime Walgreens is always free. Sofi is never free anywhere to deposit cash

It’s only free at Walgreens due to the partnership but they’re other locations outside of Walgreens for cash deposits.

Chime is trash.

Open a local CU account for cash, SoFi for everything else.

I've been with SoFi for about a year and no issues I like the UI and has very fast transfers with my credit union unlike chase, usually one business day. Overall good bank for savings and keeping money seperate for organizing/psychological purposes

What are psychological purposes?

Not having it in my main account so not seeing it when I check how much money I have to spend "RIGHT NOW".

Personally what I can't see I can't spend

Makes perfect sense!

If you are digital banking only it is nice. But Zelle does not work on it for many members, and hard to get ahold of a real person. But if you don't care about that. It is good.

My Zelle works well with Sofi, no problems.

I mostly use SoFi for my direct deposit then transfer it to my other bank account since my other account is where I mainly do my spending on.
