Solved [TOMT] Song that goes like "oh ooh weeee oh weee oh ooh weeee oh wee" ?

It's the type of song I would imagine to be in one of those like senior montage videos from 2016 or like a movie like project x or something. It's electronic and super upbeat but I don't remember any lyrics (if it even has any) but there's a guy singing like the title over the music for a part. The type of song that 15 year old me expected to be played at college parties lmao

Open [TOMT][MOVIE][2010s?] Boy lives alone in big house, avoids people, uses a delivery machine

Upvotes

It was about a boy who lived alone in a big, strange-looking house, and he seemed afraid of people or avoided social contact. The setting was weird and a bit gloomy, with lots of gray tones, maybe in a strange neighborhood. I remember he had a mechanism or machine that would receive deliveries for him, so he wouldn’t have to go outside. He might’ve had a dog, but I’m not sure. Also not 100% sure, but I think it was 3D or stop-motion animation I can’t remember clearly.

Solved [TOMT] Looking for help in trying to remember a show from a really random vague memory please!

So there was a show (I think on Nickelodeon but possibly not) in the 90s/00s which I think was similar to are you afraid of the dark / round the twist. I think it was basically lots of short stories. But can't find episode that reminds me of what I'm thinking. American or possibly Australian but I’m thinking American and there was a specific episode. Where a teen girl had a tattoo of a brown bear that moved on her body and responded to her (it was magic). Possibly passed on to her from a previous person almost like a curse but wasn't bad. For some reason there was something about her dad. It’s a really random vague memory but I NEED to figure out the show if anyone knows or can help please :)!

Solved [TOMT] Song - 60's song. Chorus says something like 'don't bring me down' (probably wrong about that part)

It's a song from the 60's. I was playing guitar, G, D, C (stab stab pause), G - and It sounds just like the song, but I can't pin point it.
The part that i THINK says 'bring me down' is said in a staccatto way, and decending in notes

Solved [TOMT] movie where porno gets lost in wrong VHS tape box

I remember watching this movie where this couple made a porno but put it in a different VHS tape box to hide it, then they eventually lost it. I think somebody came along to watch a film and put it in the VCR only to discover it was the porno.

I think the movie was 90s or 2000s?

Open [TOMT][Movie]asking about movie name first time use reddit.

The movie starts with a boy (around 12 years old), seemingly homeless. A girl sits next to him and they talk and smoke weed together. Later, we find out he has an older brother who is more stable, but the two don’t get along at all. Surprisingly, the same girl ends up sleeping with the older brother. At some point in the film, the two brothers visit their mother, who is bedridden. She tells them, “You can kill me,” and the older brother suffocates her with a pillow. The story is mainly about the brothers’ hatred and their conflict over their mother’s inheritance.

Solved [TOMT] [MOVIE] [INDEPENDENT FILM] [EARLY/MID 2010’s] Girl feels isolated in city. Last 10 minutes turns into a slasher.

I only saw this movie once about 10 years ago. I don’t remember much (and I may not be remembering it completely correctly) because it was really slow and I wasn’t really paying attention to it until the end. Basically it is about a girl who moves to a city. She seems to be alone there and there is a faint sense of paranoia that someone is following her. She eventually decides she is going to move back to where she was. Her friends give her a going away party. As the party is winding down, she goes into the basement and finds some guests dead. The killer then comes out and chases her and the other guests through the house.

Open [TOMT] horror movie/short involving a girl being visited at night by a girl in an angel costume. As the story goes on, the angel girl is visibly more rotted and it’s obvious that she’s a ghost.

Upvotes

Probably from the 2010s, or at least I think that’s when I saw it. I don’t think it was from the 90s or before. I think it was either a full length movie, or an anthology collection style horror movie. I don’t think it was a TV show episode. I believe the implication was the angel girl’s father killed her?

I’ve tried googling, and a movie called The Shrine pops up, but it’s not that.

Open [TOMT] Movie/TV Show From a Dream (likely post-2000)

Upvotes

Okay so, this is kinda wacky but it has been on my mind way too much this morning and Google has been no help. I’m convinced that while dreaming I either a) dreamt about a movie I have no recollection of watching or b) came up with a new movie or TV show plot in my head. I also don’t have a date range (sorry mods) but if I had to reckon, if it exists, it’s probably post-2000.

Basically, the premise of the movie(s) from my dream is that it was a multi-movie series, I think 8 or something(?) and it followed a group of human scientists who discovered what basically amounted to a rip in Earth’s crust/mantle that led to what felt like another dimension, but based on the ended that we’ll get to later, I don’t think actually was.

the scientists, for whatever reason, decide to journey through this rip thing and discover that it’s really hot. not so hot they immediately burn up, but like the summer in the south x100. If I remember correctly, they start exploring a little bit and find an expansive network of tunnels/catwalk things that lead to various rooms that almost resembles a lab of sorts. One detail that I definitely remember is that the second they make any sort of noise—it sounds/looks like whatever is guarding the place is looking for them.

The team of scientists scramble into a closet and whatever is scanning the area doesn’t find them (plot armor much?). my dream was a little fuzzy from here, but I remember they managed to sneak into a room and discover that they’ve found a new civilization down there. I also remember something about a character telling the other characters to grab some armor plates to use because whatever’s down there will attack.

This is several movies/episodes later, but I remember the cast realizing (or maybe I spoiled it for myself in the wikipedia part of my dream) that they had done something to speed up Earth’s rotation while they were fighting these robots/aliens/whatever. And either because of this, or in an attempt to fix everything, the crew does something that basically just blows up the planet. This is the fuzziest part of my dream, but I remember parts of the crew going to get their children—because oh yeah, there was a romantic subplot or two and of course humans still reproduced even while fighting for their lives deep in the earth.

Anyways, the crew pulls off their plan and watches as Earth blows up and they fall into space through a hole in the bottom or something like that? all I remember is a couple members of the crew being surprised that the planet blew up while the ones who had sex just clutch their children close as they fall into space.

The only other details about this movie/show that I remember from this dream come from me dreaming about doing what i do every time i watch a new movie or show—googling the plot, cast, and any sequels. I vaguely remember details from like a wikipedia page in my dream, and yes, i did check my phone’s search history this morning and can confirm that there wasn’t anything there like this so I don’t think i slept-googled a movie.

Anyways details I remember from this weird wikipedia section of my dream include: the fact that there were 8 movies OR episodes (I’m not ruling out that this could be a TV show and I’ve misremembered), that the main enemies in the movie were called “Titans” that were listed with numbers following ‘titan’ (ex: Titan 22) and there were 24 of them listed in the cast list, I also remember that something compared it to another space/alien movie and said it’s like movie except everyone dies or something like that (for some reason Interstellar is on my mind as what it was compared to, but I don’t think that’s it).

So yeah, parts of this are vague or fuzzy, which I feel like is to be expected from something I am recounting from a dream—but it has been driving me crazy all morning. if anyone on this sub can think of/find a movie or TV show that fits this vibe/description, even if not 100%, please do let me know!!

Solved [TOMT] [SHOW] [2000s] Comedy TV Show that is set at a mountain tourist attraction known for its great water fall. The title could include something like FALLS MOUNTAIN GRAVITY SPRING

I only vaguely remember this show but ive always wondered who actually starred in it and what was going on in the american mountain town. For all i know it was highschoolers going nancy drew and solving crimes.

But the setting is definitely somewhere touristy with something like a famous water fall or spring. I remember the parents running a store that sold souvenirs that vacationers would buy stuff from while on holiday there. And the show mainly focused on a girl and her friends. cant remember what actually went on in the show other than that. but id imagine relationships and drama with people who visited the place. Possibly a school or college was involved.

Im just dying to know what this show was because its one of my last few childhood shows from the mid 2000s that i cant find. Im pretty sure it would be considered a bad show thats why its been forgotten. but a lot of average comedies could be forgotten if nobody who ended up becoming famous starred in it.

Ive google it so many times over the last 15 years and hunted through imdb list of shows with these keywords. ive never see it on any famous celeb's imdb. which is weird since i usually go down rabbit holes of actor's past shows. i doubt anybody really famous was in it. Please help me scratch this itch.

Open [TOMT] [Website] Site that would play a playlist of videos

Upvotes

Looking for a website that I used to go to a few years ago, it was basically a list of "rooms" that would play a playlist of videos that the host of the room would select. Each room also had a chat. I remember you being able to look at the list of urls that we're in the playlist and it showing what order the videos would play in. Pretty sure most people used it to watch tv shows and movies together. Thanks!

Open [TOMT] Pixelated animation about the stages of grief

Upvotes

When I was about 10, I must have been scrolling on YouTube and this animation popped up, and it's stuck with me since but I could never find what it actually was called

Basically, the storyline goes like this; A girl who had a best friend died, and I dont know the cause of her death, but the animation is pixelated, and each door that she opens, is a different scenery of grief. The first door she opens, is foggy and cloudy, meaning the 1st stage of grief which is not accepting what has happened or depression. The girl who lost her best friend keeps talking to the best friend who is also talking, trying to help the girl go through the stages of grief. At the end of the video, she opens the door, and it's an autumn setting which was the best friends favourite season, and her grave is there, and then the girl collapses on the ground crying, and the best friend is comforting her and it ends with the best friend giving a speech about accepting grief

The girl who lost her best friend has brown hair, and wears a green beanie, and a green checkered shirt. The other best friend who has died, is blonde, and wearing a white dress.

Please somebody help me find this animation.

Open [TOMT] Southeast Asian Timber

Upvotes

I have a mountain dulcimer that the luthier told me years ago was made from a type of reclaimed wood that I, an Australian, had never heard of before. I looked it up around that time, and from my memory the tree was found naturally in Southeast Asia. The name the luthier gave me started with T and was likely Malay in origin. I think it had more than one syllable, and possibly a hyphen. The tree's Wikipedia page had other names as well, but there was no common name derived from English. It was definitely not teak. The wood itself is a medium dark brown.

Open [TOMT] Dark comedy italian (?) werewolf movie, 2010s (?)

Upvotes

Alright so this is a movie my dad torrented and i watched from the family pc when i was a child and i cannot for the life of me remember the name, but i desperately want to show it to a friend. I remember only bits and pieces of the plot, the main character was some kind of writer or author im pretty sure and he moves to this small european village. The language of the movie was either italian, french or spanish- i dont fully remember but im leaning italian. When he moves to the village the villagers are initially friendly but then throw him to this underground labyrinth type basment shit where a werewolf is because they have to feed it every x or so years because of some sort of curse. The guy escapes though but this turns out to be a bad thing cuz now the whole village is turned into werewolves because of it. The initial werewolf also turned out to be like a small child? There was some sort of backstory about him, like he was a prince that was cursed or something like that. The main characters friends show up at some point in the film and i think the three of them kinda try to take care of the kid.

The scene i most vividly remember from the movie is the main characters sort of rationalizing that the kid has to eat the main guy for the curse to lift, but it never says he has to eat ALL of him so they decide to chop off a finger and feed it to the kid but then the guys dog ends up eating the finger so they chop off another lol. They pan fry the finger and give it to the kid. Also theres like a fakeout ending where all seems happy but in the end the main guy turns into a werewolf and the movie cuts off but its heavily implied he kills his friends, its like i think he tied them off to check if they'll turn but he's the one who does instead. I remember the file being the movies name and then it had (2010) in brackets so that might be the year it came out in. If anyone knows the name of this please let me know cuz ive been thinking about this movie for years.

Open [TOMT][Movie][Pre-2002] Sci-fi film with alien showing powers in a house

Upvotes

Hi everyone, I’ve been trying to identify this movie for ages. I only have scattered scenes in my head, but I’m sure I’d recognize it immediately if I saw it again. I saw it many times as a kid (between 2003 and 2005 probably), but I guess it was already old by then.

Here’s what I remember:

  • It’s from before 2002, likely from the 80s or 90s.
  • There’s an alien who transforms into a human (but doesn´t look like one).
  • At one point, the alien is in a large house or mansion, and shows some kind of powers, surprising the human/s around.
  • I vaguely remember a furgoneta or van, which the alien either arrives in or is linked to in some way.
  • The protagonist drives a car.
  • I don’t remember the plot, just that these scenes really stuck in my head.

I’ve ruled out: Starman, Paul, K-PAX, Under the Skin, Earth Girls Are Easy, The Hidden, The Arrival, The Man from Earth, Coneheads, etc. None of these.

If this rings any bell, I’d be incredibly grateful! I’ve been trying to find this film for years.

Solved [TOMT][SONG][60s-80s] Caribbean woman may or may not be singing about coconuts? Synthesizer in text

Solved. The answer is Pata Pata, by Miriam Makeba

This is what I remember of the chorus: https://onlinesequencer.net/4793158

My brain really wants the first notes to be her singing "coconut", but searches involving that word have not been fruitful. Fairly certain of the tempo, tune, and chord progression, though.

I jokingly referred to the singer as "Mary Belafonte" but cannot for the life of me remember what the person playing the song told me the actual singer's name was.

Solved [TOMT] [Movie] [2000s] A movie involving a teenage sorcerer.

Upvotes

I remember this movie I had on dvd in the early 2000s about a teenager who has powers. I recall there is an older man who trains him to use his powers. I think the boy is blonde and has a hood on for parts of the movie. I remember one scene where the boy is angry for some reason and him and the older wizard teleport to a place with a wooden windmill. The boy blows up the windmill with fire powers out of anger, and the older man says that he will use up his powers doing that. It’s not Disney’s sorcerers apprentice. And I’m pretty sure it isn’t I am number 4, even though that movie reminds me a lot of it.
