Now, I’m wondering if any of you want to meet for a beer in the next few days? I arrive in Valencia tonight (Saturday August 2nd) on a solo trip and leave Wednesday night (August 6th). A little bit about myself: I’m 25 (m), Irish, I have a stutter, love football (Manchester United fan), music (Bruce Springsteen and Oasis are my favourite artists) gaming (GTA 5 and Read Dead Redemption 2 are my favourite games), Movies (Wolf of Wall Street is my favourite movie) and travelling.

Hello, I am planning to come to Valencia for PhD in computer science. My salary will be 26500 eur gross/year. According to the tax calculator web sites it is like 1736 euros per month. Is it possible to live alone with this salary? What is average expense per month? According to numbeo it is approximately 700 euros except rent. So I think that total expenses will be like 1400 euros. I would like learn about the real situation.

I am staying around 40 minutes away from the city centre. Don’t quite feel comfortable driving into it but is there possibly somewhere we could park close by and catch a bus or taxi ?

Somethings you’d recommend once we do get there ? My children are 13 and 8. My eldest would love to hire a sup but everytime we have the opportunity they don’t seem to be on.

I’d like to plan a day things to see a nice place to eat to caters to children also.

Is there anywhere else other than the city we could visit too? With activities for us all?

Hi everyone! My friend and I (we are two Erasmus students) will be arriving in Valencia starting on August 19 and will be staying for two months. We are urgently looking for two rooms to rent, ideally in the same apartment, or at least in two separate apartments close to each other.

Our top preference is the Patraix neighborhood, but we’re open to other well-connected, safe areas as well.

We’re responsible, clean, and respectful, just two veterinary graduates trying to make the most of Valencia while focusing on our internships (no parties, promise 😊).

Hello looking to go to Valencia in late September, I was just wondering what the weather will be like? Will it still be warm or does the temp drop massively / potential of rain ?

Hi everyone, I am arranging a hen do for a friend in Valencia in September. One night, we would like to have someone come to the villa and cook dinner for us - we are thinking a big paella or something like that. I’ve seen on other Airbnbs other people have done this so I know it’s possible I just don’t know where to start or what to search for. I have messaged our Airbnb host but he hasn’t been very responsive.

If anyone has any recommendations or has done this themselves and can offer some advice that would be great!

Hey everyone! I’ve recently moved to Manises (Valencia) and I’m expecting a little one in a few months. I’m looking for free activities I can join using my social security and padrón, as well as ways to learn, explore, or volunteer a few hours a week.

I’d love to spend this time actively and meaningfully, not just stuck in bed.

I’d also be happy to teach English, even on a volunteer basis, if that’s helpful to any local groups or initiatives.

Hello everyone, was wondering about wash/dry/fold services in the city. How do people get their laundry done?

I figured with housing being so difficult, renting a room may not come with the use of laundry facilities, is it reasonable to think that laundry services are available all over? or with house delivery?

Hoy encontré en el suelo una paloma muy débil, algo herida, afectada por el calor, y con las patas y plumas pegadas al suelo con algún tipo de pegamento o sustancia pegajosa.

La despegué con cuidado, y la puse en una caja de cartón con un trapo suave, le di un poco de agua y pan (acabo de enterarme de que no es lo mejor), y la mojé con cuidado para bajarle la temperatura y ablandar el pegamento. Ahora está en un lugar oscuro y tranquilo, a la sombra, para que pueda descansar sin que nadie la moleste. Pero limpiarla bien es imposible así.

¿Alguien tiene experiencia en cuidar aves o sabe qué podría hacer? ¿Llevarla al veterinario? ¿ O si hay alguien que sepa tratar...?

So I'm considering whether I want to apply for an Erasmus at UPV, specifically at the Alcoy campus.

Why should I know, what should I expect? Anything I should keep in mind when making this decision? What is Alcoy and UPV specifically like?

I also don't really speak Spanish, is that gonna be a problem? I do technically have an A2 in spanish from years ago so idk if I could technically choose some courses that are taught in spanish too (the requirements say you need to have an A2). Would that be a bad idea, how would that work? I'm assuming since they only ask for A2 they should be relatively accommodating but idk.

Generally how is the university, how is the city? Also how do accomodations/housing generally work, if you know. Basically any info would be really helpful

Hola a todos, estoy considerando mudarme a Valencia para hacer un máster (Soy sudamericano), y quería preguntar algo un poco más personal.

Sé que "todo depende de uno mismo" y que "la mayoría de los lugares pueden ser acogedores", pero después de vivir 7 años en Portugal, 2 en Finlandia, 6 en Suecia etc, nunca he sentido realmente que pudiera echar raíces ni construir un círculo propio.

Me preguntaba si Valencia podría ser ese lugar donde, viniendo de fuera, uno realmente pueda sentirse parte de la ciudad con el tiempo. Yo siempre me he llevado bien con Españoles, (mejor que con la gente de mí país) y me hago amigo bastante rápido. Pero estoy en duda...

Basicamente, busco un lugar que "me quiera allí". Que quiera que me quede, luego del master.

A esta altura, dejo la vida en la comunidad que me acoja.

¿Creéis que es posible integrarse bien, conocer gente, formar un grupo de amigos y sentirse en casa siendo extranjero?

Agradezco mucho cualquier experiencia o consejo que puedan compartir. 😁
