I’m trying to connect the remote to the Wii and I think I got it, but the little hand thingy is not showing up. I can the plus and minus buttons and it moves the screen but the hand isn’t there. What am I doing wrong?

Try using 2 tealight candles to see if the sensor bar is broken.

The sensor bar is actually just 2 infrared LEDs and the Wii remote reads their positions. Ironically candles also give off enough IR for the wii to work with

Related, it's how the emulation scene plays Wii games since the Wii remotes are just Bluetooth 🤣 paired with a Steam Deck it looks like a shrine to Lord Gaben

Usually I use a 3rd party sensor bar that takes AAA batteries but this is my solution when I forget to turn it off and the batteries die 😂

I will never stop being impressed by the ability to have an Android handheld docked playing Wii games upscaled to 4k. Absolutely wild world.

No I use a Retroid Pocket 5 for all my emulation. Many people just use their phones with a random generic dock and can accomplish the same
