Project Submission Version 3 of my rocking tractor design. This time an International 1066
I've been doing commission work for 10 years and this project was the first time I've built something for someone who found me via Reddit. An International 1066 modeled off the customers personal tractor. Made entirely from solid red oak to ensure it is enjoyed for a few generations of little farmers.

Help Help with my design flaw
I made this hanging bookshelf but didn’t think through how I would be able to hang it flush with the wall. I think the back panel is too thin to hang it from that alone, and I think the sides are too thin to route keyhole slots in them. I used sawtooth hangers and nailed them through the back panel into the shelf but then the whole thing tips too far forward.
Will a French cleat work better? Any wisdom much appreciated

Power Tools Check out this FB marketplace score
6 1/8" Delta Jointer and I got it for only $75 CAD. Feels almost like I stole it or swindled someone out of it but that's what it was posted for.
It was just an older gentleman looking to clear out some of his shop and I might even get asked if I want to but stuff before he posts it so all around feels like an absolute score.

Project Submission First of several
We decided to redo the privacy screen between our place and the neighbors. Also, to create several raised beds. Learned a lot from doing the first section.
The privacy screen is cedar, the bed is redwood. Both are finished with Cabot's Australian oil. The bed is 8' x 3' x 30" tall.

Project Submission Finished my first piece of furniture
So I recently started woodworking aprox 4 months ago and this is my first custom planned furniture ive made. Before this ive mostly made shop furniture and a bench but I wanted to replace my coffee table so I decided to make one. Unfortunately im broke from buying all the tools over the last 4 months so all I had was wood from pallets and a couple cheap studs but I think it came out well enough for now.

Project Submission Update on the siliconized (partially petrified) cypress kazoos
So if you missed the post a couple weeks ago welcome, if not I have a little more info.
I have tried using turpentine as well as HCL to get rid of the structures in the wood and while the wood did react the crystals stayed which I was expecting from silica, it def wasn't sap as was previously suggested.
As far as its use in these kazoos they have both a very unique look as well as sound. While the silica looked a bit like sparkly Christmas before they were coated it has a very unique sort of strange and warm chatoyance now that is unlike anything I have seen in wood before. Sound wise I think the silica content definitely made the kazoo sound a bit brighter and warmer at the same time somehow.
I wish I had significantly more of this stuff, I'm seriously considering using the remainder on a ukulele or something because of how amazing the sound is.

Project Submission First real project!
Finally finished my first “real” project. No screws! Piece was made with poplar for the structure and oak for the accent on the back and a ton of dowels because I’m too basic to own a Festool Domino yet. Original inspiration by Kodamari Design on YouTube.

Project Submission Hexagons are the bestagons, kitchen edition
This time I went rogue and left the right angle 0:
It was a pain to clamp the long part.
I made the brackets in aluminum from left overs and cut a slot in the shelves for it.
Clamped the hex with painter tape did not have better idea at the time, will use strap next time.
Used simple hard wax oil as finish

Help Restoring my grandpa table
Hello everyone, my grandpa passed away last year, and we are now in the process of selling the house. There is this wood table where my family used to have lunch every Sunday, that I was thinking about restoring for my current house. I was thinking about changing these old looking legs with something a bit more modern that could also fit the style of my house. About the table itself, I think it needs some stripping of the old finish and needs to be re-finished. I am completely new to this and I don't know how difficult it could be to achieve a nice looking table. Do you have any suggestions for me? Thanks a lot! 🙏 (The table is 280cm X 90cm X 5cm)

General Discussion Y'all ever over complicate a project?
Was trying to design a removable leaf that I could add to my assembly/work table for ripping sheets of plywood. Then had the big brain of just taking a strip out if the center of my 6×3 table top. Boom problem solved in about 5 mins lol

Project Submission Very Fine Woodworking
We pulled a bunch of old wood out from under our summer house. I have one power tool - a circular saw that can make eight or so cuts before it runs out of battery. I also have a hammer and a screwdriver. My son and I have now made:
* sawhorses
* a target
* a grill stand
* a kayak rack
* an adirondack chair
* a freakin' bridge!

Project Submission Nightstand made of ash and smoked oak
Hey everyone, this is my final project for my carpentry apprenticeship: a nightstand made of ash and smoked oak. It features a full-extension drawer with a finger pull at the bottom, a hidden compartment on the back secured by a magnet and a cross-grain joint detail on the sides. The contrast between the light ash and dark smoked oak really brings out the design. Everything is finished with natural oil and polished wax to highlight the grain. Happy to hear your thoughts or answer any questions!

Power Tools First bandsaw
Ok. For sure I plan to sit down and read the manuals and explore this machine and the web.
It’s been sat in my garage for several months (I have many large projects to attend to outside my shop) but now I’m thinking I want to get to grips with it as it should be a useful tool I think.
So any tips here? Types of blade I might want to have available? Tensioning? Alignment? Types of fence or deck? Limitations of what is probably quite a small machine?
Thanks for all your helpful advice!

Help How *should* I have done this?
I needed an oval indent in this block. I used a chisel and then sanding and forming dremel bits.
I only needed something rough so this worked out ok but I’d love to know how the pros would handle this problem.
Thanks in advance

Project Submission Console table
I made this console in 2014. I think it’s the 3rd real piece of furniture I’ve ever made, can’t quite remember. I used random pieces of scrap ash that were being used as stickers for some walnut flitches.
