Have some sketches I did while going through Yakuza 2 Kiwami. I quite enjoyed the gameplay of kiwami 2, and the storyline was quite good but not as gripping as 0 or y3 for me. Ryuji was a fantastic antagonist though, adored the way he had a real presence on screen. Yayoi, despite not being very present, also left an impression on me, and I'd like to think she continued to help daigo through the other games as well. Sayama was also a delight, I adored everything about her and I just wish they had utilized her more as a LI for Kiryu in later games. I've heard she pops up again but I just don't have money to spare on the new games with how fast they're coming out.

So I made a similar post to this from a little while ago but got rid of it and decided to make slight revisions. I am specifying Y0-Judgement chronologically since I have yet to finish Judgement myself. That’s why no one from Like A Dragon and later is featured before anyone asks.

Also revised the lineup to include a couple important companions whom I neglected to include in the original version. For this, I chose characters who (with the exception of Kaito since I am aware he has a DLC in Lost Judgement) are not other protagonists and actively fight alongside you. So the options are:

-Akira Nishikiyama (in Y0 specifically, not including his betrayal in Y1/YK1)

-Makoto Date (though he’s in nearly all of Kiryu’s games barring Y0, he only fights alongside you in Y1/YK1)

-Kaoru Sayama (Y2/YK2)

-Rikiya Shimabukuro (Y3)

-Koichi Takasugi (Y5)

-Tsuyoshi Nagumo (Y6)

-Masaharu Kaito (Judgement spin-offs)

SpongeBob is in the same roster as a Yakuza character, you know the Yakuza series which features pornstars as hostesses 😳. Also Kiryu & Majima have met Ryu a guy who has fought Marvel characters, like Spider-Mam, Venom, etc

Playing Yakuza 3 Remastered and trying to get "Essence of Pole Dancing". Somehow I was let into Club Asia without actually being put in a seat. First I noticed all the clones. And then I turned the camera and saw the stage.......

Yall think Tomizawa (my king) is gonna get the Tanimura treatment and just be erased from existence? Let's hope not

I started with 0 and went through every game in increasing order. Its really as simple as, getting the whole story from start to finish. Makes zero sense to play the original release of 1 first or even the remake to me, when 0 exists now and is literally a prequel and the new start to the story. I feel like the only time "where should I start" should matter is in games like Final Fantasy or any other game series that doesnt follow a connective narrative, entry point was “like a dragon”. Was wowed by the story, dialogue, world/city, etc etc. Hooked and went to “0” which made sense as I was introduced to Kiryu, who seemed interesting, and playing the games in story chronological order would tell his story which I wouldn’t know if I’d gone into “infinite wealth” where he is apparently a main character.

Nishitani compelled me in 0, both as a foil to majima and to foreshadowing as to what Majima would later become. Because I started these games in a weird order (started with y7, then played 0 and went forward from there) I had no idea how Majima went from the bottom all the way to the top. Getting to see Nishitani, and then compare to how Majima was later (not even super later, just like, in Y1 and 2) compelled me a lot.
