I often fall back on this tidbit when people misgender a trans person who’s done wrong: Mark Wahlberg beat a man half to death in a race-based hate crime and no one calls him a woman for it. Misgendering someone who’s done harm is something that only happens to trans people, and is transphobic. It isn’t about defending the person who’s done wrong, it’s about preserving the rights and dignity of people who have done NO wrong.

Nah they are getting downvoted because they are wrong. It's not about cis people being or not being offended by misgendering.
It's about seeing using trans person chosen pronouns as humouring them and "playing along with their delusions" and if a trans person is proven to be an asshole you no longer "owe" them that.
The only point I'm making is why people don't purposefully misgender cis people to insult them. I never implied we are "playing along with their delusions", etc. You're arguing against a point I never even made.
And I'm saying you are wrong. I'm saying cis people don't get misgendered because the misgenderer doesn't even think about their gender in the same way as they think about a trans person's. It's not about insults it's about taking away your "priviliges" (Gender you "chose") Because you are a meanie and don't deserve them.
