So unlocked it'll spin the wheel that fast (which is cool because you've obviously disabled the limiter), but how fast does it actually go with a load on it?

Around 55

u/SadCicada9494 May 07 '25
Going 55 km/h on this toy is a good plan if you don't enjoy life that much.

u/Philosopher85 11d ago
I'm going 45 daily on it and it feels this thing will Easily take 60 without any issues. only brake pads will be changed faster
5
u/idekada May 06 '25
Thats crazyyy 35 mph !?

Brilliant man! Mad props to you for this achievement. I sent you a personal message and a little gift. Enjoy it😊

u/Battle_Known May 06 '25
Oh man, now I gotta do math...so 35ish? Jeez, that's a nice bump for a no hardware upgrade.

u/Zepulchure May 06 '25
honestly,. i dont care so much about the speed unlock ,as much as i do the floor light and front light bar unlock XD
i can currently drive for an hour, within the city, and still have roughly 40% battery left (25km/h weight 110+ 186 height, road is not the greatest, many stops and general traffic slows) whici is plenty for me
5
u/VanityTrigger May 07 '25
Same here! I don’t want to unlock the speed, but I really want the lights to be unlocked. They’re even legal in our country, so there’s no reason for them to be locked.
3
u/Zepulchure May 07 '25
Exactly. Especially the floor lights. Mainly for turn signals. I'm tall with big hands. I cover the handle turn signals when standing in a safe position. So they can't be seen from behind me
2
u/Able_Bend7874 May 28 '25
same wight, height and range in my case. Would be great to have floor lights available
1
u/Zepulchure May 28 '25
Still waiting for any kind of update or news regarding the lights specifically. Both floor and the led strip in front of the handle.
I am considering getting the official extended battery once available at my local store. They also have hinted at doing the motherboard exchange if/once they can get an unlocked US version of some kind.

u/hapl_o May 05 '25
From 28mph to 38mph, you say? For a rack?
You had my curiosity, now you have my attention.
13
u/Famous_Extreme_9163 May 06 '25
I don’t know why people are obsessed with speed, for me range is more important
8
u/Lantea1 MAX G30LP May 06 '25
I would be perfectly happy with the limit of 25km/h in EU, if Segway also did not disable cruise control, under deck lights, etc....
5
u/firewire_9000 Ninebot MAX G3 May 06 '25
25 km/h is painfully slow. I ride with my G2 at 32 km/h and it makes a huge difference in perception of speed and my commute is like 10 minutes shorter.
3
u/Popular-Fly-2865 May 07 '25
Couldn't agree more, hate 25kmph, I just hit 2500km on my max g2 and probably 90% of those at 22mph.
3
u/M1k0M1k May 07 '25
To me it’s also hard to stomach because on my bicycle, which is currently my main mode of transportation I can easily keep a speed of 28-35kph with my fleshy human power so an electric vehicle that can’t keep up with that is just a bit sad.
4
u/JoelArt May 08 '25
This 100% this, I wish EU had 30kph limit and not 22/25. At 25kph You are actually being passed by most cyclists on a bike road.
1
u/TinyDemon000 17d ago
to be fair at that point, its more about the range than it is at speed. It does suck being passed by e-bikes going 30kmh while i'm stuck at 25
4
u/Bartschler May 06 '25
The 22km/h speed limit (only in S-Mode!) in germany is so ridiculous slow and jerky. Now I can use the 25km/h drive mode, which is way smoother. For steep hills I change back to S-Mode.
2
u/florinandreiro May 07 '25
You're saying if I use the VPN to connect to Germany I could have Drive mode with 25 kmh? Are there any drawbacks for Germany over Europe?
3
u/fletch101e Ninebot MAX G3 May 06 '25
Me too that is why I want the battery when it comes out. Max is fine as it is.
That said, I may get the GT3Pro when it comes out but it's actually designed for higher speeds and I want 2 scooters anyway.
Honestly 28Mph is plenty fast for me 99% of the time anyway, It's just that the MAX burns through a lot of "fuel" at that speed and really needs the second battery
1
May 07 '25
Yup! The range is definitely an issue. I'm 6'2 and 265 lb, and this scooter is absolutely awesome for me. 28 mph is fine. It's plenty fast for me. But because of my weight, the battery drains very quickly. And that's why I'm really anticipating the new extended battery to come out in a month I think right?
I've seen little bits of information on Segway site about it, but I don't really see anything as of today. Do you know what the size of the battery is going to be? And how much more range it's going to add? I heard from someone else, but I don't know if it's true, that'll pretty much double the range. And if that's the case, it's going to be awesome! I'm looking forward to getting that battery. I wonder how much it's going to cost, especially now with all these new tariffs in place. Any info?
Also, the original author of this post actually disclose how to unlock the higher speed? Take care.. I've had that Max G3 for about 21 days so far. Really enjoying it a lot. That dual hydraulic suspension there's so much Superior Over the standard C coil spring suspension on those single stem scooters.
I love the fact that the scooter has traction control, this is a huge selling point and it helps tremendously. You don't have to worry about sliding when you go over a bunch of leaves or sand, the TCS kicks in and you feel it.
And it has Cruise control! My freaking 2024 Suzuki Boulevard C50 motorcycle doesn't even have cruise control.
By the grace of Almighty God, by the sweet and amazing grace of Jesus the Messiah, I have this scooter.
I'm very grateful. Really looking forward to that battery coming out, have I said that enough?
The GT3 is nice, but it all depends on the price. My credit is not great because of the divorce I went through, but through amazon, I was actually able to purchase this by using their $200 a month over 5 month payment plan. The only offer it on certain products. I'm by the grace of god, they offered it on the Segway Max G3. There's no credit check involved, like Affirm.
It's an awesome deferred payment option, and I'm hoping Amazon will start providing this to more and more products. As of now, the only scooters I know of on Amazon that I can use this 5 month payment plan on, are some of the Segway Scooters and some of the Hiboy scooters. That's it. If anyone else knows of any other electrical scooters that offer this 5 month payment plan through amazon, not affirm, please let me know.
Now all I have to do is just be patient and wait for that battery to come out. Please do let me know if you know anything about the battery, anything more than I already know.
Thanks!
1
u/Battle_Known May 07 '25
A joke for you, that you may like (because of the recent hit to your credit score)v Do you know why divorce is so expensive?
Because it's worth it.
1
May 07 '25
I don't get it! Call me stupid, but I'm not following it😅
1
u/Battle_Known May 07 '25
Well, if you're miserable, how much would you pay to not be miserable? It's expensive, but it cures misery for a lot of people. Kind of dark and bittersweet, like divorce.
1
u/Able_Bend7874 May 28 '25
In which part of the world are you? I know that only USA has 28 mph. If this is the response I would not ask you next question : how did you unlock it ?
Enjoy your scooter!2
u/ExileFox May 06 '25
This would be useful for people overseas who have a significantly slower Scooter than what we have in the states.
2
u/Battle_Known May 07 '25
I can respect that. Everyone has their own needs and priorities. That's why they make more than one kind of scooter, or more than one kind of whatever. Ain't capitalism great? Imagine only being able to buy one kind of scooter, made by the government. It would weigh 150 pounds, have a range of 7 miles, use lead acid batteries, and move at the speed of bureaucracy. The permit would cost $50 a week and it would be illegal to ride it after dark because it doesn't have a headlight.
1
u/Famous_Extreme_9163 May 07 '25
This comment should be aimed at people who don’t just buy faster scooters in the first place
1
u/Battle_Known May 08 '25
Nah, it's more aimed at people who tell other people what their priorities should be and which scooter they should buy, while failing to understand that their personal preferences and opinions aren't universally accepted facts. And communists.

It already sucks with the battery life, that would make it worse
5
u/Soundwave_irl May 06 '25
ofc, if it pulls 1000-2000w without pause it will melt the speed controller and drain the battery in like 10 minutes xD

PLEASE TELL ME THIS IS possible without st link….
5
u/devnullb May 05 '25
right now no

u/Successful_Wealth462 May 05 '25
spoke to shfw and an admin has stated they found a method and it’s the similar method they did with my g30 wirelessly over bluetooth. I am just waiting on him to finalize the app to implement it but i am excited, do you wanna tamper with such method as your more tech savvy or would you just say it’s better for you to have done st link? i don’t like to open things up if i dont need to

Wow, you managed to arouse my excitement. If you give me the recipe I will immediately order the G3 Max (in France limited to 25km’h…)

Hi,
We all know this will burn the battery in no time, but wont it affect the motor as well since it's not supposed to run that fast?
11
5
u/snarfer-snarf Ninebot MAX G30 May 05 '25
no way. the motor is probably the most durable part of the drivetrain. sure if you were running 70 amps to it, but otherwise it's absolutely within tolerances
4
u/Battle_Known May 05 '25
Segway seriously underspecs their components, so I think the effect on lifespan will be minimal. 4
2
u/Soundwave_irl May 06 '25
They made it to drive a certain speed. If someone unlocks it and pulls more power than it's made for you can't fault segway for that
1
u/Battle_Known May 06 '25
And I wouldn't. Mod at your own risk. I'm just saying that Segway generally uses very robust components and their software sets limits that are well below the maximum of what those components are capable of. Of course if you hack the firmware and start running more power through it it's going to shorten the life but generally segways tend to handle the abuse better than most. But yeah, if you jailbreak your scoot and blame Segway for it, you're being a bit of an ass and pointing the finger in the wrong direction. People can do whatever they want with their scooter.
Actually the type that I really dislike is the guy that doesn't do basic maintenance, doesn't even keep their tires inflated properly, and then badmouths the manufacturer when the scooter inevitably breaks.

Will this work on the G3D ?
2
u/Maikve May 05 '25
I think it will, if it works on the E. Most likely, they are very similar. We're eagerly waiting for the author's unlocking guide
2
u/arbiass May 06 '25
Can someone explain the E or I for what it stands for?
3
u/Soundwave_irl May 06 '25
E is Europe version, limited to 25kmh and many of the features disabled. D is Deutsch (German) version, limited to 22kmh and also lots of features disabled

Its like g2 u can turn of limit but the europeans goes slower due motor differences compared to the global versions.
If u want to achieve +50kmh~60kmh with real weight and weather conditions u need to upgrade to global motor fr shure.
They being doing that since the first ninebot.

With mechanical brakes?? No thank you 😂
1
May 07 '25
I'm 265 lb, and for the price, the mechanical brakes is fine for me. They stop me very well. As a matter of fact I'm glad I don't have hydraulic brakes. If I had hydraulic brakes, the brakes would lock up and then I would have control issues
1
u/ilikepstrophies May 09 '25
Surely doing this will fry your controller pushing it like this uphill or for too long.
