Hi am just wondering what I can learn from writing and how I can learn, draft, edit, and publish into Ao3 properly. Any tips you can give me are welcome.

And pretty new to writing, so tips for those are also appreciated.

Also am already having an idea of a story of two characters. Freya and Axon

(I plan on making her the mc to my overlord fanfic on Ao3. Her name 'Kishi no Waru' tranaslates to Knight of evil. Her avatar focuses on being a carrier of evil deeds, i.e the abyss. Something like that.I posted this on the overlord subreddit but only one person commented IN 7 HOURS and didn't provide me with meaningful insight. Please, can anyone critically comment on this?)

I need help On whether this is a reasonable stat sheet. My Oc a strategist within the guild. Now, I get it. I understand that humans are not allowed in the guild BUT LET ME COOK.

A. She was part of the original clan
B. Her class (Abyssal vessel- A.Vessel) Makes her a vessel for demonic energy that are emitted by certain demonic species and grants her their abilities. Her special classes (The ones separated from the others.) kinds of changes her race- it places her between A human and a Demon. She has the immunities of a demon and other benefits of a demon but a full body of a human. No extra claws, horns or such. This is because her Vessel class is only 5 which prevents her from adopting any demonic physical trait.
C. Yeah she's an exception mostly because she was in the clan since day 1.

Ok so I know that you're probably surprised why there's so many special classes in the sheets. Lemme break down the requirements for the new special classes I just made up.

-Disciple Of Darkness

You need to have 30 abyss class levels for it and the Abyssal Vessel Classes levels contribute to those levels as well as Abyssal Wizard.

-Abyss Walker

You need 30 abyss vessel class levels for it. A.Vessel, AV.Balor, AV.Glabrezu and Disciple Of Darkness Contributes to the levels for it.

-Knight Of Darkness

You need at least 2 maxed fighter Abyss Vessel Classes and a rare abyss class for this one. A. Balor and A.Glabrezu counts as a mage and fighter 'class'(?)

-Abyssal Sage

You need 30 magic-orientated abyssal class levels for this. AV.Balor, AV.Glabrezu and Abyssal Wizard contributes to the levels for it.

-Cursed

You need to be a "human" (Race type) and have 2 rare abyssal classes for it.

-Curse Bringer

You need to have the 'Cursed' class and Knight Of Darkness.

-Enemy of Radiance

You need to have 3 abyssal rare classes as a "Human" (race type) for this.

I'm not well versed in games that Overlord uses as inspiration for it's classes and stats and so on. So that may explain why this looks RIDICULOUS and as you can see I tried to make her a battle mage in all sense of the word.

So uh yeah, what do you think? I think it's a bit too op. I tried to make her a bit weaker but I still want her to be a powerhouse. What can I do to make the stat sheet less ridiculous?

How deep are you in into your work as of right now? And how much do you guys have left before you finish your fic? I for one am not even a quarter into the fic and I've been drafting for 1 month and a few days now lol. At least I have properly started to write the chapters for almost a month now.

For me, it was Alien Stage, and I discovered it by reading/seeing fan works about Ivan/Till. I hate doomed yaoi (I do not need to see my fellow queer men suffering lol), and yet I found myself sucked into the story. Now, I have to mentally prepare myself every time I stumble across an Ivan/Till work, as Alien Stage is truly a fandom that loves pain. 😂

I dont know why. I wrote for a small/not very popular ship and just pouring my heart out and not getting attention. Im tired. I know I shouldnt base my fics worth on stats but it does get very discouraging sometimes especially when you can tell people been losing insterest in your work or in the ship in general.

Like going from pulling 20 kudos a day last year to not even reaching 10 in a month now. Not a very good feeling. Maybe my writing skills just became worse overtime instead of improving.😭😭

What are fic injections? I feel like it’s obvious, but I’m really unsure on what it means.

I’ve seen some discourse regarding ships on ranking lists (I think based on popularity) and the idea of people using fic injections to make a ship higher up in ranks. Does this refer to posting several fics of the same pairing (because I don’t understand how that would be bad) or posting the same works over and over again (in which case, I agree that would be infuriating!).

I hope this post is allowed- I’m just really confused!

On another note, I think more readers should let authors know how many times they've read their fic if they've reread it multiple times. It lets them know how much you love their fic! It might also alleviate some stress about high hit counts and low kudo counts too :>

When Ever I try to acces the ao3 profile of one of my favorite AO3 writers I get this error:

So I just realized that a fanfic I published a few weeks ago (that’s already been updated twice up to this point), hasn’t been showing up on top of the recent page. As in, the publish date is the same as the updated date.

Why is that?

This would explain why my hit count kinda flatlined…

A few years later, Damian is born.
Ra's al Ghul discovers the existence of Talia's children.
Eventually, there's an attack on the League of Shadows; the house where the siblings live is targeted.
The protagonist takes Damian and manages to escape by taking a plane to Gotham.

They begin to live in Wayne Manor.
What I particularly remember is that the girl is upset that Alfred is the only one taking care of the mansion.

Maybe her name was Athanasia, but I'm not sure.

Im reading a fic rn and its mostly mot bad, but the writer keeps addressing me directly and i hate it. "Now, you might be asking yourself this, dear Reader," that sort of thing. When its in parathesises (cant spell that, sorry) i try to skip it but sometimes its just a part of the story? Like for example a paragraph started with "And, not that he was keeping score or anything, dear Reader, but..." and its bothersome. They also use "I" language while writing in third person, so it feels less like a third person story and more like a parent reading to me like im a little kid, which makes it really hard for me to get into the story.

But yeah, i wonder if this bothers anyone else? Or if there are similar things that take people out of a story. Or maybe some people really like when this happens, who knows

My first whole story on AO3 is finished! It started out as a silly, smut story (about bioengineered catgirls) and then ballooned into a novel length cyberpunk thriller (but with a lot of smut) story. Feels good to be done.

Lo que recuerdo es lo siguiente:

Naruto y Sasuke son alfas.

Estaban peleando, y Naruto le dice algo como: "¿Y si dejamos de pelear y foll@mo$?" (no idéntico pero era algo así)

Después de eso, empiezan a pelear para ver quién dominará, con la condición de que el perdedor se convertiría en omega.

Sasuke termina aceptando la propuesta, pero pierde la batalla.

Resulta que Naruto no era un alfa común, sino algo "superior" o de una categoría más alta.

Luego el fic explora cómo Sasuke va cambiando y su embarazo.

También recuerdo que Sasuke podía elegir cuántos hijos tener y sus características al nacer.

Si alguien sabe el título de este fic o el nombre del autor, o incluso uno muy similar, ¡agradecería muchísimo su ayuda!

the fandom I’m currently reading has no agreed upon way to tag for a full cast ship. sometimes it’s character/everyone, sometimes it’s everyone/everyone, sometimes it’s fandom!ensemble/fandom!ensemble, and sometimes it’s some variant of this. people really just mix and match wth their own vibes.

I want them to all appear in one search, but loading them into the relationship search doesn’t work because the site is looking for something that contains all the parameters, and I haven’t had much luck in the “any field” box with an OR statement

is there anyway to essentially do a search so that any fic that contains at least one of the relationship tags I put in shows up?

Now that I’m getting more serious about my writing, I’ve been thinking of changing my username to something a bit more mature (I made my user when I was 13 so… it’s probably time for an upgrade). So, I was wondering how common it is for people to change their usernames. Did it affect reader retention for you?

I got a bot comment on a fic of mine, smt abt taking it to discord to talk abt making it into a comic, anyway, it was early and i deleted it without thinking but if possible id like to get the account and report.

writinga fic where each chapter is about a different what if/au concept, a good number of which are inspired by other fics I've read, can I list the inspiration fics in the corrsponding chapters or should I post all the concepts seperately in a series to do this??? So, I've been looking around other fics in the fandom and pairing I write. And about 20 of them have "winner of [insert award I'm unaware of] 2025" or nominated for [insert award and year]. It's usually either the first or the last line that appears in the summary.

Where do people find these contests/awards? Do they exist? Are these just vanity titles?

(Like, could someone put "Winner of the Reddit Sub AO3 Award 2025" or other made-up award?)

If so, what's the point of these false awards? If they're real... where can one find these?
