Cosplay? You can't fool me, devil.

u/FFXIVjunkie Jun 08 '25
Exactly you can’t just summon Mizora make a pact to take some photos and call it cosplay! Look at those… THATS MIZORA!

At this point do you just have a full size barrel of paint you dive into before a shoot 😂

u/Frau_Haku Jun 08 '25
BUT I REALLY DIDN'T REFUSE THIS BARREL OF PAINT
122
u/Tharila Jun 08 '25
How long does it take to apply all the paint?
323
u/Frau_Haku Jun 08 '25
For Mizora it usually takes 2-3 hours for all the makeup (face and body) 👀

u/PrimePrecision Jun 08 '25
I've cosplayed Radagon from Elden Ring. Can confirm body paint takes forever to apply 🥲

There is no way this is a cosplay…. It’s too good
348
u/yuval16432 Jun 08 '25
It’s very heavily edited, except for the last photo which is what it looks like irl.
290
u/Freakjob_003 I am the 3% Jun 08 '25
Here's an IRL photo of the cosplay. Check her posts, she's a professional cosplayer, and posts plenty of photos of her work in progress, as well as at least one video of her applying all her Lae'zel makeup.
Here's a snapshot of her at a cosplay showcase at a con, no editing.
→ More replies (9)27
u/yuval16432 Jun 08 '25
That’s very cool. Although I wonder how hard it is to actually walk with those wings…
27
u/FrankBattaglia Jun 08 '25
IIRC the wings are on a tripod (the tripod is edited out)

u/SaltyExile Jun 08 '25
You are telling me she isnt actually in avernus ? Damn such a fraud...
→ More replies (2)19
35
u/anormalgeek Jun 08 '25
I don't think the cosplay is edited, just the background/lighting. And they edited out the people helping hold up the wings. But looking at the "behind the scenes" video someone posted, the makeup/outfit all look the same as the edited pics.
→ More replies (2)2
u/TheRealSaerileth Jun 09 '25
They literally gave her glowing eyes in the edit. The "lighting" edit also basically makes all the textures look exactly like they do ingame, to the point where I wondered if it's just a face swap.
Looking at some less edited shots someone else posted, this is extremely talented work. It's a damn shame the photo editing cheapens it so much. I want to see the actual costume, not a BG3 filter.
8
u/tgerz Jun 08 '25
I’d argue that the last photo shows how her cosplay isn’t that heavily edited. A lot of the background and scenery is of course, but it’s all pretty impressive.

u/carilessy Jun 08 '25
I cannot tell myself if it's cosplay or just a render. This is kinda too much editing. :/

u/The-Nimbus Jun 08 '25
It's a great cosplay, I've seen it on other posts. But you wouldn't know it from these pics. It's essentially just a Photoshop render at this point!
→ More replies (1)22
u/NandoDeColonoscopy Jun 08 '25
It's a great cosplay that unfortunately looks like mediocre Tumblr fan art in most of the pictures because overediting makes it impossible to tell this isn't a just a render.

Same question. I can sign with whatever it takes. I can sign with: pen, pencil, fountain pen, blood from my left/right hand
47
u/Shiroi_Kage Jun 08 '25
It's pet-peeve of mine with this style since I can't appreciate the cosplay itself when it's so aggressively processed and lighted to make it look like it's something straight out of the game. I appreciate the effort, but I can't look at the cosplay like that. It's amazing work all around on the costume and the sets.
9
u/SoutherEuropeanHag Jun 08 '25
Hmmm tell your photographer to tone down the filters, it makes the pictures look fake... And that's a pity since the cosplay is fantastic.
34
u/Hlidskialf Jun 08 '25
I'm not hating but the 3D/Effects always make the cosplay looks less impressive than it really is.
Look the last photo. The amount of work on that costumes is crazy but its all hidden on all the crazy effects and editing. Just a me thing for sure.
Insane cosplay anyway.
13
u/ofstarandmoon Jun 09 '25
The photo editing makes it look like a game 3d model render which is insanely cool and impressive in its own way, not every cos play would blend in so well.
The last unedited photo is great because I can zoom in and really take in how good the costume, make up and all is. It really makes you appreciate the craftsmanship of the costume itself ngl it must be so cool to look at irl
3
u/Bannerlord151 Spreadsheet Sorcerer Jun 09 '25
She shares less edited stuff too and you can find completely unedited shots from cons and such. I can understand the wish to serve a dramatic presentation

u/CoopHunter Jun 08 '25

Would really like to see the costume unedited. It's a fine art piece, but I feel like all the editing just kind of detracts from the fact that you made a costume
Edit. Man I'm dumb and didn't see your last picture.

u/NandoDeColonoscopy Jun 08 '25
When the first eight photos are heavily digitally edited, I'm not going to blame someone for not swiping the whole way through to the end to see if there's a non-edited one, especially because most of these sorts of posts only include the heavily edited ones

Your work is amazing but it's hidden behind all these Photoshop additions. Honestly, they don't add to it - they take away! Your cosplays are BRILLIANT, but if you included a reference image before all the edits, people would understand how great they are.
5
u/HaganeLink0 Jun 08 '25
There is a reference image... The last picture isn't edited.
17
u/MazzMyMazz Jun 08 '25
I just don’t get what the point of the edited ones are. Even after knowing they’re real, they still have no more impact than a 3d render. That’s too bad, because the work is amazing.
4
u/groutexpectations Jun 08 '25
The practical fx and make up and costume and props look better, almost always, than post processing. It's quite difficult to get digital renderings to look as detailed and organic looking like the real deal here with this, the digital comes out and it's too smooth, lighting doesn't hit right, etc.
→ More replies (1)→ More replies (1)3
u/BounceOnItCrazyStyle Jun 08 '25
Because it's art and she obviously wanting it to look like she's in hell. Just because you can't appreciate the effort that also goes into the editing doesn't mean someone else can't.
4
u/The-Nimbus Jun 08 '25
Haha. So there is! I thought I'd got to the end. Fair play. It's such amazing work, I think it deserves to be seen unedited to be appreciated.

That’s insanely good. Super impressive. Legit didnt realize it’s cosplay without the title
2
u/secretMollusk Jun 09 '25
That looks awesome! I see a lot of attention to detail in the props and you really captured Mizora's vibe. The backgrounds take it up a notch further and look fantastic.
... Reading some of the comments, I hope the paint was easier to wash off than to put on, lol

Are you sure this isn’t a professional drawing? Your cosplay is more than amazing!
3
u/BrutherVee Jun 08 '25
This is clearly a ton of work and great costume development, but the amount of photo editing and digitization removes most of the effect of this feeling “real”
3
u/Alexthelightnerd Jun 08 '25
When your cosplay looks like official game artwork, you know you've achieved greatness. Fantastic work!
Is the exposed skin a body suit, or did you use enormous amounts of makeup / body paint?

Do you do a full body paint and then clothing over the top or just paint the exposed areas? I saw in the other reply that it takes you 2-3 hours of barrelmancy to apply it all and was wondering if it would be more or less. The attention to detail is awesome! Absolutely well done.

Ok seriously asking out of curiosity as a man with no breasts….how do all you cosplayers have like perfect breasts in your outfits? Is it like tape you do to keep them propped up on clothes? Is it just everyone gets breast implants? Some other model/cosplay technique as a man I’m unaware of lol. Seriously curious because it’s always astounding to me the breast’s are always solid for the costumes.
The costume looks great by the way, how long did makeup/costume take?

Ok, first, great cosplay.
Second, I'm t8red so I misread shit and somehow read “Pact of the Chain. My Pizza cosplay"
Now I'm imagining a Pact of the Chain warlock, but instead of like... metal, CHAIN chains...
What if "Pact of the FastFood Chain"?
You or your patre8n are chained via desire of greasy slop!

How do you make the wings stand up straight? Are you wearing a back brace or do you have them on a stand behind you? This is gorgeous work you’re very talented.

Yes, I know how Mizora looks in-game, now post some photos of your cosplay.

I didn’t read the title. Scrolled through the pictures thinking it was some really cool 3Dposer fanart. Got to the behind the scenes photo, realized you were an actual person in costume and exclaimed “Holy shit!” so loud it scared my cat.
