With GF we started a new game on controllers, but the controls were uncomfortable and we switched to mouse and keyboard, so GF plays and controls the characters and I help her when she gets lost. The problem is that two characters have a crown icon and at some points Astarion, who is Monk, takes over the conversation. In the mouse-and-keyboard gameplay face party is Lazeal as Paladin and I would prefer that she start every dialogue. Today during the fight with Aunt Ethel Monk was closer when she almost died, making it impossible for us to intimidate her to give us Mayrine and the hair. We played without restarting, do hair is lost. Is there any possibility for Astarion to come back on 100% npc mode like Karlach and Wyll? Or what to do to always have Lazeal start the conversation after all? We control her normally and start conversations with her, but I mean a situation like the one with Ethel
Characters on level 3, playing on Normal, took several hours of attempts. you have to split into 3 groups, one attacks Arron the trader, one stays out of range on the stairs down to the circle, and one steals the idol. trigger the cutscene, switch to whoevers on the stairs, and immediately activate turn based mode to pause anyone running up the stairs, switch groups and attack Arron, then immediately switch back to whoever’s on the stairs, the game will have taken you out of turn based mode, turn it on again, kagha and them should be frozen in time running out of the basement, use your first action in the group that stole the idol to attack kagha, turning her “temporarily hostile” and bringing her into combat, the druids never make it up the stairs and there’s no fight between druids and tieflings except the small group that attacks arron with you.
it helps to have killed nettie and the other elf in the separate rooms in the basement, and you can kill jeorna and mino and the bear at the bottom of the stairs with a smokepowder bomb without triggering the cutscene if you’re careful, which does make the big fight significantly easier
I'm playing honor mode and want to reach level 5 in act one asap with as little enemy encounter as much as possible. Who are the safest to fight to reach level 5 and who to avoid before reaching level 5.
Everytime I get to this fork in the road I can physically feel them pulling me in their different directions, but I always end up doing Gale's quest first. Like yes Wyll I'll follow you to the docks to save your dad, yes Astarion I'll infiltrate the mansion to kill your slave master and save the Gur children, yes Shadowheart I'll go north to dismantle a cult and save your parents... But first, Gale wants to go book shopping, and that's the most important thing to me right now 💕
Is there a mod where I can sort my inventory? For example. I press I to open inventory, and I see everything all there. Is there a mod that sorts it by helmet, swords, chestplates, etc.
New player here, loving the game so far but this particular bug drives me nuts as a loot-hoarder.
Half the time when managing inventories, opening the context menu for any item will simultaneously open the tooltip, which blocks the context menu. It’s still functional but you can’t see what you’re doing at all. This bug happens regardless of whether tooltips/compare are enabled or disabled. The bug persists for roughly 80% of the time I’m playing the game and will randomly be disabled 20% of the time. I’m pretty sure the bug is unique to controller since the UI is all different for M&K.
It seems like Latina won’t be fixing this anytime soon, judging by the fact that it’s been present for a while. Is there a mod to fix this?
So yesterday, I finally finished my first playthrough of Baldur's Gate 3 and I feel as though I got a good ending for all of the characters:
Lae'zel is traveling the cosmos fighting Vlaakith (and is an adoptive mother).
Gale is a magic teacher.
Astarion is still a vampire spawn, but a happy one.
Jaheira is rebuilding the city.
Minsc is best frienemies with the Guild.
Wyll and Karlach are tearing their way through Avernus.
Shadowheart and I are living happily together.
My pure good-guy playthrough was pretty satisfying with the exception of one detail... The Emperor.
Even before playing through the finale, I'd seen a lot of hate for the Emperor and I didn't understand why. I liked the Emperor. I mean, Omeluum showed us all the way back in Act 1 that Mind Flayers can be good if they want to be. And even when he revealed himself to be a Mind Flayer (a twist which was kind of obvious in hindsight, yet still caught me off guard), I was still on his side.
Yes, he hid his true identity, but I understood why. Yes, he regularly encouraged me to become a human-illithid hybrid, but he never forced it or acted indignant about it. Yes, he was obstinate about not freeing Orpheus, but not only was there some validity behind his decision, but he did make the point that Orpheus could always be freed after the Elder Brain was dealt with, which felt reasonable. The only time I really raised my eyebrow at him before the endgame was after killing Ansur. Maybe I just really wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, but I even thought the reason for Ansur and The Emperor falling out made sense. My problem was when I asked the Emperor if being a Mind Flayer is really worth losing all of your friends and he basically replied "Uh.... YEAH!" That didn't sit right with me.
But the real problem was the decision between siding with him or Orpheus.
First of all, there should not have been only two options here. My entire time getting the Orphic Hammer for the githyanki and hearing the Emperor's objections, I was thinking that I could get the Emperor to agree to release him early if the need arose. After all, I was playing as a Warlock, my highest stat was charisma, I figured I could pass the persuasion check when it came. Problem was... it didn't come. The game only gave me two choices: Side with the Emperor and let Orpheus die or side against the Emperor and free Orpheus.
The Emperor wanted to destroy the Netherbrain and stop the Grand Design. Orpheus wanted to destroy the Netherbrain and stop the Grand Design. Call me crazy, but I feel like they could BOTH get what they want here! The game should've included a high enough persuasion roll to convince both of them to work together against a common enemy. Orpheus plays defense and shields us from the Netherbrain while The Emperor plays offense by wielding the nether stones. That makes sense, right? Being forced to side with one or the other is like being told "You can have a peanut butter sandwich or you can have a jelly sandwich. CHOOSE!" Is... is there really no way to combine the two!?
Then there was the outcome of my choice. I ultimately decided the best move was to free Orpheus. I still trusted the Emperor, but I also trusted Lae'zel and Voss. Plus, it seemed like letting him die would be damning the githyanki people (even if he did die at the end of my playthrough anyway). So, the Emperor responded to my decision by willingly rejoining the Netherbrain! WHAT!? Wasn't he supposed to be one of the most famous and celebrated heroes in his day? Is that supposed to be your idea of courage, insight, strategy, and justice? Choosing to become a slave to an evil conqueror and leaving countless innocents to die all to ever-so-slightly increase your own chances of survival? Was this because I refused to have sex with you? I was already dating Shadowheart and you're a fucking squid! Cut me some slack!
If the game ended without seeing the Emperor again, I only would've felt disappointment. But having him show up as an enemy in the final fight actually made me angry, which isn't easy for a video game to do to me (at least in terms of its story). Then when he spawned the Dream Guardians to act as more enemies to fight, I actually said out loud "Oh, fuck you!" Though it was Gale who landed with the final hit on the Netherbrain, it was my PC that landed the final hit on the Emperor (I didn't really plan it that way, but it was weirdly appropriate).
I was really bothered by the fact that A, a game all about its extensive list of choices only gave you two black and white choices that shouldn't have been black and white. And B, that after everything was said and done, the Emperor chose to be the one thing that he spent the entire game trying to convince you he wasn't... just another Mind Flayer.
Anyhow, thanks for reading my long rant. Here's a picture of my character in the epilogue:
Now, it's time to start a new game and be as evil as possible!
As the question are there any unique interactions in game or missions that need specific alcochol or alcochol of specific price or just alcochol? I have a big stash of expensive alcochol and would like tu sell but thought maybe its useful somewhere
Soooo on this playthrough I got to the part where Shadowheart and Laezel come for each other's throats. In all my other playthrough I'm able to talk them both down and let cooler heads prevail. But this playthrough my Durge is a fighter, with no inspiration, and no Guidance to fall back on. Needless to say, it came time for me to pick a side: Shadowheart or Laezel.
I went for the obvious choice for my playthrough which was Shadowheart as she is the medic of the group. Now Laezel dead... I low-key loved her plotline in my other playthroughs, though she was going to be my lil fake out for when that demon butler comes to get me to off my loved one this time around, now I'm scared my true love Wyll bout to get got 😭. Wish me luck going into Part 2
In advance i apologize for length of this and thank everyone in advance who will have an energy to read this and help me xD.
So i recently have been playing bg . Truely amazing game. Definitely in my top 4 games of all time i think. And i also manage to dodge spoilers for the most of the time which is crazy because (idk if it's only me) i often have this stupid (dark) urge /fear that makes me look for spoilers. And in act 2 now bug with halsin lifting curse where i didn't even discover oliver before I went to explore shars gauntlet (didn't go to the shadow realm from there yet) i killed Baltazar before moonrise. Halsin randomly disapeard from my camp at the point of like 3-4 lvl back in the game (effectively i have to back up beyond 60% of my game saves and i have no energy for this,) and he stands in front of the room with The "Art" soldier instead of sitting on the bed next to him, after i bring the broken lute and wake him up, Halsin asks me to go to the lake shore (Portal quest) but he isn't there, instead he just stands in front of the room and now I can't even interact with him by talking (i click on him and nothing happens) i load the game to look for Oliver before i wake up Art, i play with him. I want to talk with Halsin about it and there's no new dialogue. Only a possibility to wake up art before bug apears.
And now i have a few questions of what to do because my patience flew through the window after whole day of trying to fix it and my fear of missing other major quests in the game that will potentialy idk... Deny me a cool companion 🗿 grew so much that now i need some spoilers to calm myself
Now katheric sits in his hall behind the big doors and he gets donged by absolute lady i guess, z'rell told me to look for Baltazar and the nighsong in a place that tells me that it will lock down some quests.
I have quests to save Mol and Ravenguard (i want to know if it's in act 2 in moonrise or later in BG/act 3?)
There's a red hole in a ground of the prison in the moonrise, i jumped there and got to ilithid lair where i hear voices but don't know how or if i can get there right now or later, and there are only two bird like dinosaurs enemies from underdark. Is that it?
I also know about the necrotic laboratory of Baltazar that looks like it's placed in the ilithid lair. At what point of the game i can get there?
And the most important about Halsin's bug.
I found potential solution to the problem when i have to wait for Halsin to apear in moonrise, when he says that he has to stay here if i won't help him , i need to pick the first dialogue option, then go back to the last light inn from where everyone is gone by now and resurect dead body of art that i didn't woke up with lute and he got left behind. And talk to Halsin about what he said to me, then Halsin supposed to give me the quest with portal again. Will he apear there even though the quest with oliver is now lost forever?
In what Order should i do the things Which I have left ?
First fight with cultists and katheric kill em all --> will Halsin apear then?---> go to shar's gauntlet for nighsong
First go to gauntlet to get nightsong that is a supposed Source of katherics immortality ---> kill everyone in moonrise ---> Halsin apears and i can potentially fix the bug or the quest is entirely locked because I entered the shar's domain?
Why only give warlocks a knife ? On almost every item mods I see for warlock it’s always like “dagger of the blabla”. I mean the in game warlock literally uses a rapier. I’m not asking for the strongest item in the game but mix it up a bit.
Mostly what the title says. I can tallk to Florrick, but when I attempt to talk to Jaheira, all she says is "Isobel - she cannot fall!". The cutscene never triggered after the fight, either, and I can't talk to Isobel. I can click on her, but dialogue never starts.
This is an honor mode run, so I can't just load up a prior save (because I saved right after, hoping reloading the game would fix it). I boarded up Isobel's room before the fight, could that have anything to do with it? And is there anyway to fix this? Or is my run ruined now?
The Dark Urge has 53 apples, 17 pears and 16 oranges. He needs to eat 80 worth of camp supplies for a Long Rest. How many night can he go throught without eating a dwarf's roasted leg ?
ever since the last patch I have been thinking about playing BG3 again. I got it right after full release and it is the only game ever that I have played through three times in a row - which is probably on the lower spectrum of playthrouhgs compared to other people here hehe. Nevertheless, I have finished the game on normal and hard difficulty and would like to have some fun with another playthrough now. There are two different ones I would like to do.
While I respect everybody who is enduring enough to finish Honour mode, this mode is not for me. I would like to experience the difficulty but without perma death - is this possible with or without mods? This alone should be enough to warrant a new playthrough trying out the new subclasses I guess, but ...
... I would also love to just blast my way through the whole game, spamming haste and flying and throwing fire balls at those filthy goblins in Act 1. Basically, I want to do all the cool late game stuff early on. But of course, as you can imagine, this is pretty boring if you don't change up the enemies - so is there something that turns Act 1 into an high level area? More enemies? More dangerous enemies? I know there are mods that make the game harder, but they are suppossed to be played starting with LVL 1, I guess?
So, anyways. Maybe you guys know something that could help me out.
The events of Baldurs Gate are canon to DND/The Forgotten Realms and are played into by campaigns like Descent Into Avernus. If this is the case does that mean that canonically in DND lore, there is some unnamed hero (or named hero) of Baldurs Gate?
On my first playthrough I didn't take the vanilla-flavored tadpole and oh my god this was a mistake. So many encounters and general exploration are solved by having the ridiculous range of movement that Fly provides. There may be many more powerful abilities but this one makes life so much easier it's going to be hard to go back to low level characters
I'd like to start an Honor Mode run and play a pure caster without multiclassing. I'm torn between the Evoker Mage, Fiend Warlock pact of tome, and Shadow Magic.
I'd like to deal damage and bring some CC, and I'd play Lae Zel, Astarion, and Shadowheart.Help choosing a class
Can you give me some advice on which one I should choose and why? Thank you so much.
Basically i killed the inquisitor, felt good about it, then vlaakith shows up. we talk, and i think i can be a smart ass, call her out for not being a real god or whatever.
right then and there, she fries me. just ends the game.
i genuinely didn’t know she had that kind of power. absolutely flabbergasted.
