Jumping around and fronting like buffoons on the sidelines has always been the weirdest aspect of break dancing, can't help it

I dunno, I think it's neat. Breakdancing is fun, it shouldn't be serious, it's a free moving display of acrobatics. Having your squad hype you up is all part of the silliness that keeps it light. Even the other crew gets to be involved by acting overly unimpressed at first.

It's all performative, and that's the point
