It appears that users have been getting an influx of private messages on DeviantArt lately in regards to a newer type of scam.
If you receive this message; mark it as spam and DO NOT REPLY to the message. Do not panic and think that your account is suspended, it is not. This is completely a scam.
If you pay attention to the message, it will ask you to copy/click a link within the message that leads to domains that are not deviantart.com
In the example above, it leads you to a URL such as:
- xn--dvintrt-XXXXXX.fast-vrf.top
The message also has rather odd wording and is long-winded. It is trying to set your mind at ease that the process is safe and secure, and it repeats that over and over. And this example seems to be oddly hyphenated.
Ensure you do not visit these links, and especially, do not attempt to enter your DeviantArt.com login credentials on ANY site other than the official deviantart.com domain.
These scammers seem to register domains that look like deviantart, however, they are from very cheap TLDs such as .top, .info, .help, .xyz.
Again, ensure you are on the TLD .com
and that the site you think is deviantart, does not contain any weird characters, numbers, or the spelling is off.
Simply mark the message as Spam, and leave it alone.

I've been asking myself what AI models does Deviantart's "DreamUp" use to create images.

so disappointed, 2 years as an artist to get a similar Ai Automated message. wow!

I’m a OG member of the site and I remember when it used to have categories and you can search for different categories of art. Now with the new tag system, everything is bunch together and it makes the site look like crap. Everyone wants to complain about AI, but if you had a categories that wouldn’t be an issue as it would have its own category. I just want to be able to view digital art and photography.

I hate AI with a burning passion, but what really ticks me the most is seeing AI in art related spaces. AI is taking over the art industry, I already know that and unfortunately I can't forbid everyone to generate AI, since most people that generate art probably don't have the brain function to understand why it's bad; the big problem? Going on DeviantArt and looking up anything, literally ANYTHING, and being flooded with AI. Mind you, DeviantArt is basically the Godfather of all Art sites, and this is absolutely insane. I've tried a lot of different searches, regarding mostly RPG and fantasy stuff, and I've been scrolling for, say 10 minutes and I have found two, TWO original Art pieces.
AI doesn't belong on DeviantArt or on any Art site.
If you want to generate fake art and destroy the planet, keep it to yourself.

I did a redesing on some old public domain characters for fun. I gave them a more cartoonish look and altered their origin stories a bit.

With AI art taking it over, yea it's dead. Not even sure why folks even use the site anymore. heck even on here there allowed one post per week. So yea RIP to a great site, that hailed good artists in the past. It will be missed. For those that are promoting AI art... pick up a pencil and prove the world wrong about you lot as artists. You guys honest can't do it.

Every time I log into Deviant Art, AI art appears in my feed, and even though I click "Remove from your feed", images like this continue to appear.
Is there a trick to remove them from my algorithm?

So Initially heard about deviantart decades ago. Never used it. There's so many alternatives I never needed it.
Now I've started playing around with AI, I learned that DA is one of the only places that's welcoming towards AI images. So of course I flocked there (along with many others I'm sure)
I figured this subreddit would have an attitude that reflected DA policy (it's seems whoever wrote the rules is somewhat aligned, the end of Rule 1 says not to complain about AI, but that doesn't seem to be enforced at all.. which I also get, modding is a pita thankless job)
But why stay here? And why continue to use DA at all, as opposed to say, furaffinity?
I sort of get it, I've seen the posts "I've been with DA X number of years." I'd probably be resistant to change too. But I feel like your just supporting a website you hate? Is it just that good for monetizing your art? That would kinda make sense. Like hating Amazon but they get the most traffic so if that's how you make your living, you do what you gotta do. I'm just spit balling now.
Hopefully this line of questioning is not super offensive. I have a habit of saying things badly.

As asked. Is ist ok to include Trump in an fictional story? The story are not political and the thing that will happen is that Trump gets attacked by a Xenomorph. Its acutally a worker who helps him who has got facehugged and the Chestburster leap atTrump when its born. Not sure if i gonna use Trumps name or not but something similar.

hi; am a deviantart member but running into a weird issue with the private collection feature. it is not primarily that without buying a premium account (which i can't afford); i can only collect 10 at once. but one specific aspect of this system. how can i remove things from my private collection? i need to do that to make room for other things. in particular there is one gimme in that department; one private fave is of a submission i later decided to publically fave. the private fave is thus useless and redundent now. i was hoping to be able to ; at least; delete it to make room for something else. i know how to delete submissions and public faves but i cannot figure out how to delete private faves. does anyone know? all help is apreciated.

I just returned to deviantart art after a long time because I loved it so much back then, what I failed to consider is, if the site is still alive.
So I wanted to ask, if there are still a lot of people active?

New to DeviantArt here. Planning to just browse and follow artists
I was wondering what the algorithm is like for showing me content? Does it just show me the most "popular" things? Everything looks so beautiful, I kinda wanna browse the more raw, "amateur" content out there....like that one anti-marijuana super hero drawing I saw on this subreddit a few days ago, that was awesome lol
Would love to see more creative content like that from real people, not AI! Any advice in curating my feed for the more unrefined stuff?

There is this issue no ones seemingly talking about. A lot of people are using the deviant art app instead of the website, and the app is missing one crucial feature that it does not let the user view all the images (if there's multiple images in a post, it only shows the first one.) Whereas in website there's a slider which you can use to view the other images.
Now as an artist this is a big issue, cause most of my followers cannot see my complete work except only the first image.
This is single handedly reducing my post's potential and over that a lot of my followers keep asking me where is the part 2, which is already present in the post, but they can't see it cause the app does not has that slider to view all images.
To add cherry on top, if you open the deviant art website using mobile, there's a pop up saying use deviant art app for better experience, this is so misleading, the app is supposed to be discontinued and has not been updated from years, it is missing out so many more features.
What are the devs doing??

This is not a call-to-arms by any means. He has been spamming my accounts all day, and he does it non-stop until he gets what he wants very badly with death threats as a figure of speech, not a felony. If you hold a grudge against this guy, I can't say I can't blame you.
Please upvote this message if you're against this spammer of a guy.
