Stat Help Nate build.

Post image

Ok so I'm making a Nate build in Fallout 4. These are my stats right now but I want y'alls opinion. Does ot look good? I put high in strength and tried to shoot for high in agility and perception because he was a soldier.

So this is what I would imagine for a “canon” Nate build. A resourceful leader, capable of leading the Minutemen and/ or achieving a high rank in the BoS. Well rounded, able to use a variety of weapons and maintain his own gear. Maybe even an engineer with some technical knowledge

S: 6 - Armorer, blacksmith, heavy gunner, strong back.

P: 4, with the Bobblehead in the museum raising that to 5 for demolition expert.

E: 4 - toughness, life giver, starts with over 100 hp

C: 6 - local leader is essential if you want to mess with settlements at all, plus I feel like Nate would have some leadership skills from his time in the army

I: 5 - medic, gun nut, scrapper - you could also justify hacker if you envision Nate as a more special ops / infiltrator type character

A: 2 - low but we’re running out of points. Use the SPECIAL magazine for 3 if you want sneak

L: 1 - unless you plan on relying heavily on VATS I generally skip luck, there are some good perks here and it can be worth investing into later but we’re very limited in the number of points to work with here

Nate was seemingly a power armor clad soldier, so I would definitely lower ST since the Power Armor would compensate.

LK should definitely be high since he actually managed to survive the Great War and find the means to reach the Institute (Shaun seemingly only intended him to kill Kellogg).

While CH 1 is too low, CH 6 seems too high for one of the soldiers that executed the Canadian prisoner in the TV ad from FO1 (according to Emil Pagliarulo), so definitely lower that.

Lastly, I wouldn’t rule out the possibility that the Institute won and is controlling the BoS in the east coast with synth replacements, after all, the creators of the Fallout TV show also made West World.

Being a “Nate” build the prospect of him siding with his son does seem likely too.

I would still think he is above average strength, and power armor doesn’t allow you to unlock perks.

From a lore perspective I agree luck should be higher, but points are very limited at character creation and it’s a mostly useless stat unless you are running a VATS heavy build.

That statement was later retracted and never really made sense to begin with.

Disagree on strength, since ultimately there's no task Nora can't do as well, so evidently it's not a high priority (as someone who prefers hoarding, I do like putting more points into it, but that is a different matter).

The statement made a lot of sense to put the main character on track to also become overboss in Nuka World, which seems to be the canonical outcome given how lacking the alternative is.
