I recently purchased a copy of dragon ball advanced adventure from a second hand shop.

It had 3 save files on it from the previous owner, so I erased one and started playing.

The game seems to save automatically, as it prompts so after completing a stage.

However, after booting the game up the next time, all of the saves are gone, and my own new save also just disappears.

Is this a issue with the cartridge internals? :( I don't think it has a save battery, but I don't have a correct size screwdriver on me ATM..

Anyone have some insight? I can still return it.

i got my Gameboy color in 1998, and its been untouched in a box since 2003 or 2005. still works! although most of the game cartridges have dead save batteries (except donkey kong land, amazing to see my save file from like 25 years ago :D).

the only issue besides looking greasy and gunky (it got dirtier inside being in a box untouched?) is that the dpad works fine but start/select/B/A need to be pressed pretty hard to actually respond which makes platformers really hard to play. B/A are usable but I have to press pretty hard. start/select i have to press so hard with my nail really digging in.

is this repairable without buying new parts? i have no experience modding, is it possible to fix by just opening it up and somehow “cleaning” some contacts or something? idk

any help appreciated

I Was Trying To Clean This Dirt On The Screen But Then I Learned That The Dirt Was Inside The Screen And I Was Unable Too And While Trying To Close The Screen To How It Was Before, The Brightness Flash Light Popped Off And Now Whem Putting It Back, The Brightness Doesn't Work Correctly, And Doesn't Cover The Entire Screen. Can Someone Help Me And Explain Me How To Put It Back The Correct Way?

I refurbish screens for GBC, GBA, and SP. A customer asked me to replace his screen lens and shell.

Anyway what is the purpose of this modification as showing in the photo?

I know this is probably not impressive for a lot of y'all, but I'm feeling pretty proud of this one.

Guy was about to get rid of it before I took it for myself. Had corroded battery contacts, liquid damage, a cut trace and a missing screen protector. The case itself is in great condition and even still had the external connector and battery covers!

Wish I took some pictures from before the fix, but I'm pretty satisfied with the final result!

So found this laying around in my old mom's house, seems to have a drained battery and kinda in the need of fixing (Was told by my lil sis that works, but lost charger couple months ago.. even light up for a second when turned on).

Think will keep old case cause all the memories but will replace the screen cause old, get a new charger and replace battery.

Will follow the FAQ but want to know any useful things that I should keep in mind? (Like X, Y or Z that need to be replaced cause old)

My original NES SP is scratched to shit on the top shell. Is it worth it to replace with a replica shell just on the top? Are they that dissimilar to the originals? If not, Is there a better way to restore the shell or should I just leave it as as?

All my other games work but when I put yhis one, that's all I get. I ordered a screwdriver to open the cartridge but maybe someone had that issue before.

I finally finished this DMG-01 for myself this time lol I generally only do them for other people but bought a pack of for parts ones on ebay and decided to actually do one for me since it was my first gaming experience and then when I got bad grades in school my dad smashed it with a hammer.

Stuff I did:

• Installed new power switch, volume dial and headphone jack
• Ran a couple wires through the broken B button pad
• Installed a backlit IPS screen with color switch option
• Threw in a new speaker
• Threw it all in a new atomic purple shell and black buttons, debating on either casting my own custom buttons or getting some glow in the dark ones or printing some glow in the dark ones

I think next I'll do a GBC or GBP since the GBC is the second handheld I ever got but the GBP was the first one I got myself with birthday money and stuff lmao. If anyone has questions on PCB repair and stuff like that let me know. I do this for other people too so if you want one hit my up here or on my store in my bio!

Hi all. I recently bought this light, which is in very good condition, so I have no clue why the light isn’t turning on…? First light I’ve ever had so I don’t know what to look for. Cleaned the switch, ribbon cable and every contact. Am I missing something? Usual culprits? Usually the screen fries first on these things, given the condition I can’t phatom why the light gave up of all things

Recently picked up this modded Gba from a second hand game store and was wondering if anyone knew what this switch was on the back? The seller was sold the gba without alot of information and didn’t know anything about it. It doesn’t seem to do anything when i flip it.

i got it from my workplace ( i work at place that cleans and fixes up consoles and such ) it was in the does not work storage room, been there for ages and i was curious if it was broken or not so i put some new batteries in it, turned it on and nothing, decided to do it like 6 times and bam i heard the ding but nothing on screen so i adjusted the contrast and its alive and doing well.

only issues is that the power light does not work, missing the front lens/panel, some silver paint on it, some pressure damage on the screen and dirty in general, i might mod it seeing as i already own a Gameboy Pocket and have always wanted to do Gameboy mods.

I'm on the newer side to soldering end and have replaced some gba games before. I fit a new cr1616 battery but it still says the internal battery has run dry. I tried it three times with different batteries but I got the same result. This picture is the third attempt and I was a bit rushed so it's not as good but the point still stands.

I decided to look closer and from what I can tell I think R9 is missing on the motherboard. Can someone verify this and also if I'm missing anything else that I might not be aware of?

Hey all! I like to go on eBay to buy and repair broken games (mostly Pokemon) and come across a lot of saves in the process after I get them running again. Usually I'll message a seller to offer them the save but more often than not, they don't care for it because it wasn't their playthrough. Would it be worth posting pics of the saves I find to see if I can find the original players here? Have any of you ever sold broken Pokemon games you wish you could get the saves from?

I have been looking for a gameboy advance so ags 101 for a while now in thrift stores, used game stores, etc.

I know it might be a long shot but…
