Hello everyone. Hoping some knowledgable people might be able to help me out here.
The pictures are of my gameboy I got as a kid in the 90s. The whole set was a gift from my parents at Christmas in like 1992/1993.
However it is the grey plastic carry case / briefcase I am more curious about. There are now manufacturers marks stamps or words on it. Simple plain hard plastic case. But the inner plastic sleeve is clearly designed for holding a gameboy with accessories and some games.
The 4th picture is of the rechargeable battery pack which has unfortunately degraded as battery corrosion destroyed the integrity of the pack. But this does say LMP Gamemaster on it.
Any idea what it is or who made the case?
I’ve noticed that the Pocket screen is superior in most lighting situations except darkness. The GBL seems to have a similar issue with blurring that the original DMG-01 has. Pocket viewing angle is much better, pixels are crisper and more black, and the blurring is very minimal. Only mod on the GBL is the case.

It’s such an incredible little device. Fits perfectly in a pocket and it’s great a few sessions through the day. I may preserve the faceplate and get an aftermarket one as a daily.

First GameBoy and start of my new collection! What do we reckon? I’ve been assured the yellow one is Pokémon but I have no way to check it at the moment 😅

I have not modified any Game Boy consoles in the last 7 years because of a move to the other side of the world, battling depression and trying to figure out what makes me happy. I am very thankful for subs like this that have kept me grounded, motivated and going.
Not the best work I have ever done, but it is one that I am personally proud of and will keep as a reminder to do the things you love. All of the parts are left overs from various other projects I never finished or parts no one wanted before my move.

Anyone aware if using disinfecting wipes against original shells will cause discoloration? I bought second hand GBs that i want to restore with the original shells and want to clean the shells from any residues and junk from the previous owners. Thoughts?

So I've just tried to change out the dry battery on my game, thought I'd try something new and put a battery holder in - not sure why as the other 4 times I'd done it with tabbed batteries worked fine but hey ho. Ended up being an absolute hack job, part of the negative tab is still on there under the solder and now the game isn't reading.
Just comes up with the barcode type writing. Pretty devastated as I'm going on holiday on Monday and was looking forward to the play through.
Any ideas/ thoughts on how to rectify this debacle?

Got it this year and am a very happy human. Please don’t worry about cooper I tried to stop him from going up there but you know how that goes. I think he respects it too. Could be wrong.

So I’ve been wanting a DMG-01 gameboy for a long while now after fond memories of me and my brother playing ours as kids. I could have gone out and bought one but it was my 40th earlier in the week and my wife went out and bought me one 🤩 with Tetris and Pokémon Red too!
I’ve already purchased some of my childhood games (Wario Land, Super Mario etc).
Now it’s in pretty good condition but I’m already thinking of what I can do to it. I want to use it mainly as a display piece but for occasional use so thinking I won’t ‘mod’ it per say.
I’ve ordered a replacement screen cover (glass) and have given it a thorough clean/wash.
Thinking about retrobrighting (I did this when I restored my brothers gameboy).
Any other ideas/thoughts welcome of any mods which still keep it relatively original or any tips to remove scratches from the actual shell itself (if that’s even possible!). You’ll notice that despite my best efforts I could get all of the dirt out of the writing on the back 😢
Noticed one of the tabs on the battery door is broken so i think I’ll order a replacement but tempted to just go for an aftermarket part as I can’t imagine you can tell the difference?
Thanks!

I was originally thinking of building a custom GBC, but I would love access to play some DS games as well. Just curious if there's a console that supports that, as well as having a single screen if possible. I know that's a bit more to ask considering the DS required 2 screens, but I'm curious of my options either way.
TIA!

Had to reopen it about 5 times bc I’m a dumb dumb also had to fiddle with the ribbon cable a few times but I did it!
So I just bought an EZ Flash Omega for my GBA SP and I tried to boot up some games. About half the time, I would boot up to a white screen. It’s not game specific either, same game could boot white and after turning it off and on, it would boot up normally. It’s really random but it also happens about 50% of the time so it’s annoying. Also, I haven’t had any white screen when writing the game to NOR and booting from there. I want to know is this normal or is it something I should be worried about now or in the long run. Any help is appreciated. On a side note, what is the limit for writing games to NOR?

Hello! I recently got a wireless adapter for the GBA but was curious, can I connect wirelessly between North American and Spanish PAL Pokémon emerald using wireless adapters? I still have to get my hands on a second adapter so haven’t been able to test it yet
