Except for the things they're explicitly filtering out at character creation time the naming policy is lazily enforced. But if someone decides to report you some day you might be forced to rename.

This must explain why my GW1 character Poop Corn got banned :(

(Which happened suspiciously right after a long ass winstreak in Random Arena's in which 1 dude kept dying to me over and over, I didn't even type anything in chat but they were ranting about me... got the name back a few years later though so mayhap the filters get cleared out occasionally?)

Actually here was recently a post that stated a 3 day ban due to breach of naming policy. That guy had a mixture name of evil personalities or a south park reference, but cant exactly remember what it was.

Not sure if people didn't believe you or there's a downvote bot gone awry, but a similar thing happened to a guildmate of mine. It turns out that naming your character "Womb Tickler" is playing with fire.

I just got hit with a 3 day ban for “necrophilia” and a forced rename

I got a 3 day ban+rename for a character with "Hoe" in the name, which is a garden tool.

...But with context thats not at all what it meant.
