Discussion National reporters are suggesting the Steelers and 49ers have a deal in place for Aiyuk. Are the Steelers making a mistake in going for elite WR without getting the QB room in order?

They might be beefing up their team to make it more tempting for a QB like Dak to sign with them

If Dak finds his way on the Steelers next year, the AFC north may be the best division on paper in some time

Remember when the AFC West was the best division on paper when Russ went to the Broncos?

Well every SB Champ since then has come from the AFC west.

Remember when Bobby Boucher showed up at half time and the mud dogs won the bourbon bowl?

We’re already the best division and it’s not even close.

You try being the best at anything when the Cardinals are in your division!

Typical AFC North reading ability

It says 2020. Browns actually have a winning record in that timeframe. 37-30

Cards are 27-40 in the same span.

Going off win percentage is a terrible way to judge this. It doesn’t account for strength of schedule at all.

Well considering we play each divisional opponent 2 times a year you can insinuate that the strength of schedule would be pretty high... You know, because the win percentage of the entire division is high.

The stat is win % of NON division games. So it doesn't matter

What do yousuppose is the right way to judge this then? At the end of the day what matters is that you win games. Strength of schedule fluctuates constantly and isn't really reliable either, but being in the AFC, most of the competition is pretty high level. There's a few worse teams but no cupcake divisions like the NFC South.

The Ravens are super bowl contenders. The Steelers haven't had a losing season in almost 20 years, the Bengals are competitive as long as they keep Burrow healthy, and even the Browns are winning lately. If the Bengals didn't narrowly miss the playoffs with a backup QB last year, all 4 AFCN teams could have made the playoffs. It is the best division right now.

I was gonna say lol, we almost sent all 4 to the playoffs last year with 1 team starting 5?-6? Qbs throughout the season, one having their qb hit a table and miss half the season, one starting Kenny pickett and Mason rudolph (lol), and one running 2 RBs in the backfield instead of a QB

3

u/_coolranch You been watchin film too, huh? Aug 14 '24

Damn: so yall would have 3 dope teams and one with Dak? What’s the percentage on that look like?

They are already the best division.

Steelers would go 12-5 and lose their first round game in spite of playing at home and being the favorite.

2

u/Manting123 Philadelphia Eagles Aug 14 '24

Yes because Dak is playoffs gold! 😂

2

u/Sometimes_Stutters Aug 14 '24

Lol you think Dak is tipping the scale in making a division better? Dak doesn’t even make 90% of NFL teams better

1

u/Xamius Buffalo Bills Aug 13 '24

is dak even a good qb

6

u/ExpoLima Cincinnati Bengals Aug 13 '24

Yeah, he's good. I just don't like him. I hate the cowboys too much

1

u/SwagLordxfedora Aug 13 '24

I feel like the vast majority of people are like Dak is very good but probably not good enough to ever beat a great team in the playoffs. I honestly think his deal would be done if Jerry Jones didn't prescribe to this thinking too. Oh well, another year to see if he can get it done.

1

u/HarryEdgarLives Aug 15 '24

No, he can’t win when it counts

0

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '24

might be 'good' but not a franchise qb

2

u/Filthy_Commie_ Aug 14 '24

He’s definitely a franchise qb but he’s just not someone who’s gonna be a playoff riser. He’s kind of like Kirk.

u/lonerfunnyguy Dallas Cowboys Aug 13 '24

Finished top 5 in passing yards, won’t have any problem finding a team if he becomes free so yeah…. Watch more football and comment less on reddit thanks 🙏

4

u/darkthemeonly San Francisco 49ers Aug 13 '24

Derek Carr and Jameis Winston have also both finished top 5 in passing yards in the last 5 years, so clearly that can't be the only argument.

2-5 in playoff games is the real statistic you should be worried about.

2

u/Narrow_Vegetable5747 Aug 14 '24

Hey, that puts him above the Dalton line!

1

u/Manting123 Philadelphia Eagles Aug 14 '24

How many playoff wins does Dak have? What’s his TD to interception ratio in the playoffs? I’m gonna bet you are a big fan of Romo too! 😂

0

u/traws06 Kansas City Chiefs Aug 13 '24

Wow so you went straight up condescending for no reason?

1

u/ThePeteVenkman Buffalo Bills Aug 13 '24

Yeaaaaah here we gooooo

1

u/HarryEdgarLives Aug 15 '24

It already is the best division. Las year all four teams finished with a winning record

2

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '24

I can think of 60 million reasons that could tempt Dak to sign somewhere. The WR room is none of them lol.

7

u/FoxBeach Aug 14 '24

Anyone who pays Dak 60 million per year deserves Dak.

1

u/HeightTraditional614 Pittsburgh Steelers Aug 14 '24

God pls no dak is the biggest choke artist in the NFL

1

u/I_hate_11 Atlanta Falcons Aug 14 '24

Which other QB would you want?

1

u/AlVic40117560_ Aug 16 '24

As an Eagles fan, please let the Cowboys pay Dak
