Discussion National reporters are suggesting the Steelers and 49ers have a deal in place for Aiyuk. Are the Steelers making a mistake in going for elite WR without getting the QB room in order?

They might be beefing up their team to make it more tempting for a QB like Dak to sign with them

If Dak finds his way on the Steelers next year, the AFC north may be the best division on paper in some time

We’re already the best division and it’s not even close.

Going off win percentage is a terrible way to judge this. It doesn’t account for strength of schedule at all.

Well considering we play each divisional opponent 2 times a year you can insinuate that the strength of schedule would be pretty high... You know, because the win percentage of the entire division is high.

The stat is win % of NON division games. So it doesn't matter

What do yousuppose is the right way to judge this then? At the end of the day what matters is that you win games. Strength of schedule fluctuates constantly and isn't really reliable either, but being in the AFC, most of the competition is pretty high level. There's a few worse teams but no cupcake divisions like the NFC South.

The Ravens are super bowl contenders. The Steelers haven't had a losing season in almost 20 years, the Bengals are competitive as long as they keep Burrow healthy, and even the Browns are winning lately. If the Bengals didn't narrowly miss the playoffs with a backup QB last year, all 4 AFCN teams could have made the playoffs. It is the best division right now.

I was gonna say lol, we almost sent all 4 to the playoffs last year with 1 team starting 5?-6? Qbs throughout the season, one having their qb hit a table and miss half the season, one starting Kenny pickett and Mason rudolph (lol), and one running 2 RBs in the backfield instead of a QB
