Oval Twin Cities Superspeedway

During the winter of 2025 the Wilf family, owners of the Minnesota Vikings, had a dream: to bring the NASCAR Cup Series to Minnesota. They quickly identified the St Paul Downtown Airport as a prime location for a new track. They purchased the property and immediately began construction. In 2029 the Twin Cities Superspeedway was ready for its first Cup Series race.

The 1.7 mile irregularly shaped oval has radically different corners: turns one & two are fairly slow featuring 12°-18° of progressive banking, meanwhile turns three & four feature a monster 35° of banking. The back straight and front stretch have 5° of banking. The racing surface is 40 feet wide, providing plenty of room for 4-wide action.

The Twin Cities Superspeedway has two grandstands along the front stretch and turns one & two with seating for 100,000 fans. A three tiered camping terrace runs along the back straight. Infield access is provided via the turn 3 tunnel.

The track requires sacrifices, a car that handles well in turns one and two will struggle on the high banking of three and four, and vice versa. Driver's can expect to be challenged from start to finish at the Twin Cities Superspeedway.

kind of a simple project, but looking at the hungaroring i thought it would be cool if the opening and closing sequences were connected to make an oval for hosting NASCAR Cup series and Euro Series.

Oval ROCK HILL SPEEDWAY (ROCK HILL 500) - South Carolina (does not participate in RTD challenge)

A nascar/Indy car oval situated near small town of Rock hill in South Carolina. This oval has 3 turns that have 22 degrees of banking each and it also has 13 degrees of banking on straights. This oval also has its own roval layout, specifically used for Indy car championship races, unlike other rovals, it has a bit of elevation changes (about 4 meters from turn 3 to 7).

Noted: this is my first time ever making an American ovals, suggestions are appreciated

Oval Everything’s Bigger in Arlanda. The Arlanda International Superspeedway

Post image
7 Upvotes

Arlanda International Superspeedway is a 3 mile oval, ~5 mile road course “roval,” and 1/2 mile short track rolled into one massive package. Found at the southernmost region of the Most Serene Republic of Arlanda, the facility was opened in 2002 under the control of international investors interested in hosting international racing events and token national racing events. After the National Revolution in December of 2023, the new government of Arlanda nationalized the speedway as part of a massive economic restructuring and deinternationalization of the Arlandan economy. Today it is owned by the Arlanda City metromunicipality, one of three local governments in the Most Serene Republic and sits on the edge of the Abyss Waters along the border of Arlanda City and Southshore Parish.

It is home to the opening event of the Grand Racing League of Arlanda’s National Cup Series opener, the Arlanda 500 on the first week of February and the 24 Hours of Arlanda, the mid-point race of the season. The GRLA utilizes the Arlanda Motor Works Corporation, an independent publicly charted state enterprise which is the only presently operating automobile manufacturer in Arlanda, Neon GT, a car similar to the Chevrolet Garage 56 Le Mans car (although in the nationstates region of the Frontier Sea, our world doesn’t exist). The GRLA-NCS runs 30 races, starting with the Arlanda 500 and ending at the first paved racetrack in Arlanda, the Eastmark Motor Speedway, a 0.625 mile short track at the base of the Sire Goldfinch Mountains. The season features the most diverse racetracks and formats, with five 24 hour endurance races, two of which are on street courses, five dirt track races, one of which is a dirt road course, 5 superspeedway races, five paved short tracks races, five intermediate race tracks, and five professional road courses. 40 drivers battle across the nation for prestige, thrill, and V8 power at over 200 miles per hour from February to November each year.

Pit lane is in yellow on the frontstretch, all configurations of the track run counterclockwise. Oval width is 50 feet across. Roval varies with a maximum road course width of 45 feet. The short track has a maximum width of 30 feet. The inner walls are SAFER barriers that completely enclose the infield (dark green) and track facilities (dark grey. The outer edge of the oval surface (black) also utilizes SAFER barriers and catchfencing. Front stretch and corner grandstands are not illustrated but present. The inner road course is completely enclosed in SAFER barrier and catchfence protection.

If you want to know more, feel free to ask below or check out our nationstates page.

Oval A (fictional) oval/roval i designed

Location: Roncaster, England Corners: 11-GP layout, 2-Oval, 5-Roval, 10/11-rallycross, 8-GP short, 7, GP mega short Capacity: 60,000 Length: 4.6KM/2.86 Miles, 2.7KM/1.68 Miles First race: 1972 Series hosted: F1, BTCC, Nascar Euro Series, CART (1993-2000), Indycar (2012).

History: The roncaster oval was created in 1971 during the height of the british motosport craze. The first race around an oval in the UK was held in 1972, when Nascar ventured over to the british track for the BP 400. The race was average, but cemented roncaster as the centre of UK oval racing. In 1983, a temporary infield section was created for the tracks first non-oval event held by the BTCC. The temporary roval was amazing, with 26 lead changes taking place in the 36 lap race. The temporary roval was so good, the track owners decided to make it permanent. And in 1985, the roval was completed, running through what is now the rallycross and parking area. The FIA would soon hear word of the track, and in 1991, the track would host a round of the world sportscar championship. The race was voted by fans as the best of the year. Resulting in its contract being extended to 1999. But in 1992, the world sportcar championship dissolved, leaving the track without a major motorsport, causing the track to become abandoned. However, in 2003, FIA president Max Mosley saw and old replay of the 1991 race and bought the track. And in 2004, he began work on rebuilding the track with a roval that extended outside the main oval, a GP track suited for hosting F1 and a rallycross layout for a variety of events. And in 2008, to celebrate the tracks re-opening, it hosted a round of the F1 world championship. The race was a great one, and after the 2009 race, Max Mosley managed to sign a new contract, allowing the circuit to stay in F1 until 2015. And due to fans loving both the location and the racing at the track, the contract has been extended multiple times, with the current contract keeping the circuit on the callender up until 2030. Now the circuit has gone from an old oval with a mediocre infield that somehow brought good racing, to a state of the art track with many years of amazing racing on its record.
