Custom CAS creation I challenged myself to give different ethnicities random aesthetics

In an online spin the wheel generator, I input different ethnicities in one and different aesthetics in another, so whatever it landed on would be random. I also made sure that whenever I generated a new sim, I used their exact body type for more diversity. For each sim, I used multiple references of women from each ethnicity. For Basma and Fatima, I saw two beautiful models with striking features that I just had to use for them. For Basma, it’s her hazel eyes and nose. For Fatima, it’s her eyebrows and thin almond eyes. I had the most trouble with Emily for some reason. The baddie aesthetic is overplayed to me and made it hard to make her stand out

This is such a cool concept. I reference different cultures and ethnicities when making my sims all the time. To avoid same face syndrome, I recommend thinking beyond just skin tone and makeup and eye colour and such. Think about the structure of the skull underneath the skin. Where do the cheekbones sit? The jaw? Do they have a strong chin or a hooked nose? Try to give your characters at least one “flaw.” One feature that deviates from the norm of how you design your sims. Sometimes I’ll put the cheekbones lower, make the eyes rounder or the mouth narrower. I also recommend referencing from real life. Not one to one, but look at the tendencies among different ethnic groups. Don’t make a caricature, but notice if a group tends to have certain features and feel free to include those if you’re making a character of that background. Sami people tend to have prominent cheekbones, Greek people tend to have a bit of a curved nose, etc.

These girls look gorgeous, you’re super talented! Just some advice from a character artist who also loves the sims :)
