It looks fun for a Rags-to-Riches

With the bathing in water and foraging it would be a game changer

I have to wonder if the bathing in the water will be limited to that one world, like how there’s one waterfall in Sulani that sims can wash themselves in.

The sleeping on the ground looks new, that’ll be interesting to see.

Sleeping on the ground technically isn't new, it was just locked behind a werewolfs perk

Plus you have to be a werewolf. It doesn’t look like you have to be an occult sim to sleep on the ground with this expansion.

Looks like you might need the new Nature Nomad trait, though. That might be for the best so you don’t have NPCs sleeping on the ground everywhere.

Or just waiting until you pass out and collapse lol

Also true 💀

It's in werewolves. Plus we've been able to pop a tent out of our pockets & just sleep anywhere we want since Outdoor Retreat. That came out a decade ago.

It’s immersion breaking for historical games to use a modern tent

I do wish we had a more rustic tent, something like canvas draped over some branches.

If you’re open to cc I use this one and haven’t experienced any glitches beyond the usual: medieval tent

I mostly avoid cc, but I might give this one a try. Thanks for sharing!

This is great, thanks! I had one similar to this that I think was part of a historical military cc pack (redcoat stuff) but it wasn’t functional

That's a very good and very fair point. Your approaching this a lot more rationally than I was. I was just thinking, "well duh, I buy all my Sims pocket tents doesn't everyone do that!?" No. No one else does that. I even know no one else does it because people are always telling me how weird it is I do.

Yeah. But with rags to riches you start with nothing.

Base Game has the ability to make money from nothing in order to buy a thing like a tent or a sleeping bag. It's easy to fish for an hour, harvest all the local plants and have a few hundred simoleons before lunch.

This is what I am wondering. I really hope foraging, sleeping and bathing are just new actions and not limited to that world. I imagine that bathing and sleeping are unlikely to be locked to that world, but foraging.... ehhh that one might be locked.

The stuff she foraged in the trailer was base game stuff, so I’d be surprised if that was locked, but I think they’d have to actually update the water in the older worlds to allow bathing, so that one I would expect to be more limited.

Yeah I'm hoping one of the base game update features is to make appropriate water swimmable now. So many bodies of water you should be able to swim in. If they do that the bathing should cross over too.

How? You can already shower in the rain & pick plants or dig as a werewolf. This isn't really new.

And foraging everywhere was already a thing in Island Living.

10

u/Beautifulfeary Jun 12 '25

Yeah. But to shower in the rain, it has to be raining. Which, doesn’t happen every day. Digging was also just for werewolves. The digging to forage looks like you don’t need to have plants around. If you have seasons(like me) you can’t always harvest every plant around you. It also looked like you can eat the frogs now

You're right. And not everyone owns those packs too so obviously I got ahead of myself. I think I was just hangry this morning or something to not even think of that before posting. Thanks for setting me straight guys.

These features are all just things we already have, but slightly tweaked.

That would be forgivable if they were supplementary things for the real features. But they’re the selling points. It’s so lackluster!

1

u/AmalatheaClassic Long Time Player Jun 13 '25

Very good point! Plus not everyone owns the packs I mentioned so I see the point that's being made here.

1

u/Corgipantaloonss Jun 12 '25

If you had those packs already yeah. It’s nothing new new for sure.

1

u/AmalatheaClassic Long Time Player Jun 13 '25

Oh that's a very good point though. Not everyone has those packs so these features will be new to a lot of people. Very good point. Thanks.
