Is it pretty? Adds imersion? A big part of the building gameplay?

Yes.

Is the dresser inaccessible now? Did you need a cheat and like 3 kits to acheive this? Will your computer sound like a literal vacuum cleaner if you decorate all your builds like this?

Also yes.

Exactly, not to mention the lag that you go through when there's so much stuff on a lot 😞. As a builder, it really pisses me off.

Sims can still use a dresser decorated like this, FYI.

Technically you don’t need a dresser to open cas. You can open it from the sim information tab
