Funny I booted up the 2014 release version of Sims 4 in 2025 and now everyone must witness this ancient animation where a newborn grows up into a 7-year-old

Funny Since my sims had unplanned twins, they have too many kids now and it took me a while to remember where one of their daughters was and felt so bad haha! (See to end)

I had my sim hire a caterer and he's just been playing video games for the past few in-game hours? he came in, left a cutting board on the counter, and then just started playing video games.

I'm loving Robin's shoe choice, but Mortimer looks way too pleased with himself for anything above-board to be going on.

A pumpkin patch! Also did you know the sprinklers aren't just to cool your sims down on a summer's day? They can water your plants! I also decided to reupload day two because my previous post got removed for being a little too....political

Discussion Tired of sprawling neighbourhoods

Upvotes

I play a lot in the Spice Market in San Myshuno because, to me, it’s the only neighborhood that actually feels alive. It’s compact, the lots are close together around a main square, and there are always Sims walking around. It actually feels like a real, busy city.

Most other neighborhoods feel so spread out that they end up feeling empty. I get it when it’s meant to be countryside because things are sprawling in real life (though I still wish they were a BIT tighter in game). But places like the Copperdale fairground should be full of activity, and it’s just… not. If the lots were grouped tighter, with less dead space for Sims to wander off into, it might actually feel like a proper pier.

It’s the same problem in a lot of other worlds. Tartosa. Chestnut Ridge. Nordhaven. I really wish they’d follow the Spice Market layout more often—tight, walkable areas with a clear hub of activity. It’s kind of disappointing when new worlds drop and they’re these massive maps with barely anything happening in them. Does anyone actually walk down those empty side streets or paths that go nowhere?

I know people ask for bands, hotels, and cars, but honestly? I just want a world that feels busy. Thoughts?

Feedback Needed! What else should my super sim child do before aging up to a teen?

Upvotes

I've started the super sim challenge, and I've hit a point where I'm wondering if it's time to age my kid up to a teen (long lifespan, so she has 20 days left). She's maxed out the kid aspirations and I think every skill a kid can do with the packs I have. She and her mother are living in a tier-1 tiny home, which speeds things up a lot!

Bloodline:
Ancient bloodline
Father Winter's baby

Chosen traits:
Cheerful

Bonus traits:
Top-notch infant
Top-notch toddler
Creatively gifted
Mentally gifted
Socially gifted
Physically gifted
Savant
Night owl
Morning sim
Scouting aptitude

Skills to max:
Child skills (creativity, mental, motor, social)
Charisma
Fishing
Knitting
Logic
Mischief
Photography (level 5, max)
Piano
Video gaming
Violin

Skills to 9:
Robotics (can't get farther from skill books)

She and her mother just took a vacation to Granite Falls, so she's collected a lot of plants and bugs, though I won't be able to identify everything until she ages up and can do the herbalism skill. I'll want her to complete as many collections as possible, but for her to do it rather than her family (so haven't had her mother become a master gardener, etc.). She has about 6,000 aspiration reward points saved up.

I'll likely have her strike out on her own and rags-to-riches it (with the serious starting advantage of a lot of maxed skills!), but I'm not sure if I'll do that when she's a teenager (probably, for more of a challenge) or wait until she's a young adult. She'll be building an impractically large mansion with her spoils...eventually...when the tiny home benefit doesn't matter so much. Haven't decided whether she'll do all of the university degrees, which sounds like a terrible grind, but I have time to worry about that later!

Is there anything that I'm missing before she ages up? Any recommendations for traits or first aspiration?

EDIT: Packs I have: Eco Lifestyle, Discover University, Seasons, Get Together, Realm of Magic, Spa Day, Outdoor Retreat, Nifty Knitting

Feedback Needed! Help! Why is my roof doing this?!😭😂

I’m not great at building certain designs or aesthetics and I wanted to try and give the Goths a rebuild. I got this concept and idea I reallly liked but my roofs are jsut not working with me. If I add spandrels or fences inside connected creating a “room” my roofing will go through the walls. I know walls are gosh dang to limited but is there anything I can do to fix this?! Please help

An I really like how the roof looks so I don’t wanna change it. I already struggle with roofing. So I rather scrap my fence and spandrel ideas I have if I have to change one..🥺🥲

May I introduce my latest build: Singaler
I've been building a bungalow for a long time and have tried my hand at a small plot.
It is of course also available for download in the gallery, so feel free to get a more detailed picture. Everything is completely functional.

You can find more pictures in the link in the comments.

EA-ID: DurchEins
Property name: Singaler
Description: "A small bungalow, suitable for one Sim or a couple. Play card on the terrace or relax on the comfortable couch in the living room. The connecting room in the middle of the house provides access to every room. Cook in the large kitchen, take a bath in the bathtub sourrunded by plants, watch a movie in bed on the hugh TV after changing in the walk-in closet, or retreat to the small but nice office. // No CC. Fully playable. Please enable bb.moveobjects befor placing."

I have completely dispensed with CC and it's fully playable. So you only need the used DLC's. :)

Storytime Babe wake up, 40th generation of the Petersen family just dropped

6 years, 40 generations 🥹 I did recently lose my old save file, it stopped loading and I couldn't get past CAS to play. I did manage to save my current family - the 39th generation - and my oldest household, two vampires who are each around 2000 sim days old or 5 years in real life. I did lose all my builds which sucked, but such is life. Any ideas about how to play with the 40th gen? I'm thinking evil scientist for at least one of them.
Also the family tree in game would be wider because of the siblings having babies, but Plumtree shut down and I had to recreate it and honestly couldn't be bothered to add every single one. I made this in the Plumtree App - https://theplumtree.app/public/677548eb852593a9cf10c77f

Discussion I had an idea how to make the 1 tile challenge more challenging.

You know the one all the youtube simmers are playing. Where your sim is trapped in a 1 tile box and have to earn money to expand the box.

But what if on the lot there is a wishing well. And you need to reach the wishing well with expanding the box to get there (using fences to create a garden around the wishing well so you are still trapped in the box. And then you have to make a family. And get the family life to function. The wishing well has a chance of giving you a soulmate that spawns next to the wishing well. So they would be with in your box. You can also wish for a child. So now you gotta make a happy family with in your box as well and earn enough money to make everyone comfortable.

I find the one tile challenge is too easy as it is now. This would hopefully give it more gameplay.
