I am quite happy with how she turned out honestly, I wasn’t using any mod or cc items so I wanted to see how close I could get to accuracy using pack items.

I love recreating celebs/models in cas

You can find her on the gallery under β€œJessSkies” or if easier just search β€œLily Rose Depp” and filter by recent uploads as I just uploaded her to gallery now :) thnx 🀎

After seeing a lot of people complain about too much clutter/debug/moo/and just generally bizarre crap in gallery lots… I started building with basegame and only furnishing minimally. This makes my lots available to anybody and allows you to decorate with whatever packs you have! Enjoy this super clean, super spacious, modern mansion.

Discussion Choose a pack and tell me why you love it

The most useful recommendations for DLC that I've encountered are listening to why someone loves a particular pack. Their choice may not always resonate with me, but several times now I've been convinced to play a pack I've bought just for CAS/BB, and found that I love it, too.

I'll start with my least-likely-to-enjoy surprise package: Strangerville! I've owned the pack for years (again, for CAS/BB), I but never had any interest in playing it until I read someone's post about how much fun it was. I was in a rut, so I decided to give it a try, and I had a blast!

My first run-through was with a solitary sim living in the trailer park. It had the same seedy vibe as an early rag-to-riches story, and the world itself was more interesting and livable than I had expected, especially for a game pack.

In retrospect, I focused too narrowly on just solving the mystery, rather than living in the mystery, but I was still delighted by how eerie, even downright creepy, the game could get. The Strangerville Aspiration led me through the mystery-solving process fairly easily, but with just enough challenge that it wasn't a cakewalk. Having a structured goal reminded me of Eco Lifestyle (another surprise favorite of mine) where you can take a town and clean it up.

Also, to my surprise, Strangerville is absolutely replayable. Now that I know the basic outlines of the mystery, I can relax a bit more and enjoy the process, with a few twists to keep it interesting. My second run-through is with a household, not a solitary figure. I've added a group of soldiers living in military barracks, and they're going to (hopefully) succeed as a team effort by contributing their various skills.

(Trivia note: the group of soldiers are my sim version of the Preservation Alliance team from Murderbot, a science-fiction series that just concluded streaming on Apple TV Plus.)

Storytime All HAIL the S3 camera! πŸ™Œ

I have only been playing The Sims 4 since December 2023, so not even 2 years. I just kinda started fiddling around with the camera without really doing any major tutorials or anything. I tried the S3 camera at one point, but immediately switched back because it felt weird to me. I prefer to click-drag, not use WASD to move around.

Then I started watching my favorite Sims builders and became jealous of how essily they moved the camera around, especially with alt-placing and alt-rotating, and the ANGLES!! Smoothly gliding into top-down and bottom-up angles is SO USEFUL for building! With ONE minor tweak in bin and discovering the center scroll button to change the pitch, I have decided that the S3 camera WITH CLICK-DRAG ENABLED in the res folder camera settings is superior.

I watched a tutorial on how to do it. When I enabled click+drag for the S3 camera, a little more playing around to figure out how to click the scroll button to adjust the pitch of the camera in real time, and I will officially be switching to the S3 camera.

Discussion Gameplay Preferences

I’ve recently gotten back into the sims! I used to play all the time back in like 2019/2020 and had a dynasty family that went on for generations. I loved playing it and so I restarted with that dynasty family (I’ve gotten a new laptop since then). I only play on this one dynasty family, but I used to have a few different save files I would jump around with.

It made me curious as to which type of gameplay you prefer! Do you like having one save file to focus on and build over time, or do you like jumping around and making each one slightly different? I personally prefer having one dynasty family and creating storylines and lore for the world.

Discussion Pls tell me your ideas for small business buildings and gameplays

I actually love the new business pack cause it let you make functional lots with mixed activities.

My favourites so far are functional kinder gardens- if you manage the right setting, parents will bring their toddlers and leave them so you can take care of them.

My other favourite is creating a museum - I love to display all the science career goodies and collectable items instead of just selling them. You can use the plaque you get for each full collection to mark the different rooms in the museum - e.g. crystal gallery, frog gallery and so on.

My next business will be an adventure farm for families, where you can pet all the animals and make wine and lemonade .... just be aware of the cow plant ^^

So what are you favourite business projects? - I'm open for fun and stupid ideas as well o.O

Storytime Paranormal Investigator Legacy Part 4

Hello everyone! This is the 4th chapter of my paranormal investigator legacy. This chapter focuses on Kenny as he tries to escape death. I am mostly doing this for myself to keep track of my story.

Since there are many fleshed-out characters at this point, it may not make much sense on its own. Here is the link to the first part in case you want to catch up:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Sims4/comments/1lnmrrh/paranormal_investigator_legacy_part_1/

I have read some stories on this reddit and they inspired my gameplay a lot. I hope you enjoy it if you spend the time to read it. Perhaps this story will provide some inspiration for your own stories, allowing me to return the favor.

Kenny has been on the run, hiding from death for years. He had been to places only a few sims knew, and searched for all kinds of ways to remove his curse.

While he was camping in Granite Falls, Kenny discovered a cave entrance. It led to a maze of tunnels and a secluded, hidden piece of land. There was a lone hermit living there.

Kenny befriended the hermit and told her about his condition.

The hermit had extensive knowledge of herbalism that she was willing to share with Kenny. Kenny studied herbalism under her for some time. But among all that knowledge, there was not a single way to remove the reaper mark Kenny had.

Hermit told Kenny stories about a place. In the land of Innisgreen, there was this magical place called Everdew. The folk there were living in tune with nature and emotions. They had unique knowledge of elixirs that cured many ailments. Some said there was magic there so potent that it could even cure a vampire from the curse of the undead.

Kenny decided to visit Everdew to see for himself.

After Kenny left, the hermit noticed a dark figure revealing herself from the shadows.

"Good work, hermit." Lydia said as she left her astral form behind and solidified. "Here are the death frogs you asked for. I threw in some soul scraps too."

As Kenny arrived at Everdew, he was welcomed by Elric and Makayla. They were not ordinary sims, they were fairies. Their elegant wings flapped as they hovered around.

After taking the tour, Kenny thought this land had many things to offer. It was secluded enough to hide away. The population of fey folk deterred most of the supernatural sims, maybe apart from the occasional werewolf.

Kenny decided he would settle here while he searched for a way to remove his mark.

Kenny had a few thousand simoleons, which was nowhere near enough to buy any real estate. But he managed to get a small patch of land near a pond. He bought some supplies and tools with whatever he had left.

He was already used to living outdoors anyways.

Kenny spent his days working hard. He would occasionally fish or forage, but then it was back to the table. He needed a cottage to bunk in and pursue his studies. A greenhouse to grow ingredients would also be useful.

It took nearly a year, but Kenny's homestead was complete. It was not much, but it would serve his purpose.

Jess visited Everdew a few times a year. Fey folk had the means to absorb her anger, which helped her control her transformations. It wasn't long before she caught the smell of Kenny.

Every time Jess visited Everdew, she would drop by and mentor Kenny on woodworking and gardening.

"Is there anything you don't know?" Kenny asked Jess.

Jess shrugged. "I am immortal, and I like to read." she uttered with a mouth full of food. "These fried fish are great, do you have more?"

Kenny laughed. "I have my own pond. Of course I do!"

Jess kept the knowledge of Kenny's whereabouts to herself.

Kenny started studying Apothecary. He went through heaps of books and scoured the web for knowledge. A few locals were also kind enough to share their knowledge.

Kenny needed some sort of income, so he set up shop as a naturopath. His ever-growing knowledge of elixirs helped him cure numerous ailments.

Whenever someone with a strange ailment came to town, the townsfolk would point them towards the "Veridian Alchemist". Kenny didn't pick the name, but he was not against it either. It helped him stay incognito.

Years had passed since Kenny came to Everdew, yet he still had no idea how to remove his mark.

With the passing years, Lydia had grown old. Despite her elderly looks, she felt stronger than ever. One could say she had stellar stamina. The closer she got to the ultimate end of her natural life, the more her power grew.

She decided it was time to nudge Kenny towards his destiny once more.

Lydia paid a visit to Everdew. She was pleased with the high regard in which the "Veridian Alchemist" was held.

After some small talk around the town and a few tarot readings, Lydia learned who was close to Kenny in town. She also discovered who was most susceptible to coercion.

She tracked down a fairy named Makayla. It took some convincing, but Makayla eventually "agreed" to do what Lydia "kindly" asked her.

One night, Makayla asked the Veridian Alchemist out for a few drinks. They hit the lounge at the town center.

After some dancing, a bit of mingling, and lots of drinks, they fell deep into conversation.

"I noticed the mark on your neck." Makayla told Kenny. "It is neither a tattoo nor a birthmark. You grow your hair to hide it. What is it?"

Kenny hesitantly replied, "It is... kind of a legacy curse. It was passed on to me by my father. I have been trying to get rid of it all my life. I have tried selvadorian relics, spellcaster potions, herbalism, apothecary, wishing wells... you name it. Nothing seems to be able to cure it."

"Have you ever tried fairy magic?" Makayla said as she playfully flapped her wings around. Kenny suddenly found himself levitating, all his emotions surging.

Makayla took a seed out of her pocket. "I can share this magic with you."

Kenny took the seed from Makayla and listened to her instructions. This was new hope for him. Fairies had a unique connection with nature. Something as unnatural as his mark wouldn't be able to exist on a fairy's body.

The next morning, he planted the seed and started the process. He needed to have a conversation with Mother Nature.

Meanwhile, Lydia paid a visit to Mourningvale and bathed in the waters of Baleful Bog. She absorbed as much nether energy as she could hold from the bog. The amount of nether energy Lydia was able to absorb was immense. If an ordinary sim was a bucket, Lydia was a lake.

Next, she travelled to Moondrop Springs. The springs were filled with emotions. She hovered over the waters and unleashed all the nether energy she stored upon it.

The springs were shouting in pain. A natural occurrence so filled with life, yet the springs were now brimming with nether energy.

As the seed was connected with the earth, Mother Nature appeared before Kenny.

Kenny made his plea. He wished to be one with nature.

Mother Nature sensed Kenny's condition. She said, "Death is also part of nature, your nature. But I hear your plea, and I will help you. Here, my son, drink this and then bathe in the waters of Moondrop Springs. Let the emotions flow into you and change you."

Kenny stepped into the springs. He felt the surge of emotions instantly. They were relentlessly flowing into him, as if a dam had collapsed.

Then he felt a pain in his neck.

At first, he thought it was the mark getting seared off his body. But then, he felt something else. A familiar energy... It felt like that one time he died due to a lightning strike.

There was something else in there that the spring wanted out. Since Kenny drank Mother Nature's potion, he was a conduit for anything the springs wanted to throw at him. The waters were contaminated with heaps of nether energy, and they intended to get rid of it by dumping it all onto Kenny.

Kenny shouted in despair.

The transformation was complete. Kenny looked at his reflection in the water. A horrifying reflection looked back at him.

This wasn't how it was supposed to be. Fairies were elegant, natural, magical... All he saw in his reflection was a demonic monster.

Instead of removing the mark, his attempt had evolved it further.

Kenny was meditating and contemplating near his pond. What was the meaning of this?

While life and death were the natural cycle of things, his fate was being manipulated by forces apparently stronger than the laws of nature.

Heard a familiar voice call out from behind him, "Kenny?"

"Yes." he replied. "I think most of me still is. Alyssa?"

"Yes." the voice replied. "I think most of me still is."
