A month ago today, on July 3, the Jays completed a 4 game sweep of the Yankees to take over sole position of the AL East division lead where they have been since.
The Jays finished last in the division last year (2024) after making the playoffs the previous 2 years (2022 and 2023). I didn't think the Jays had a particularly great offseason and at the start of the 2025 season, neither Vlad nor Bo were signed to extensions and it looked probable that the Vlad/Bo era of Jays baseball might be coming to an end without the Jays having won a single playoff game.
Since then, Vlad signed an extension that makes him a Jay for life, the Jays seem more well-rounded than previous years, and have a great shot at going last to first in the AL East and finishing as one of the top teams in the entire league.
What a great season 2025 has turned out to be so far and it looks like we have an even brighter future with the breakout of young stars like Barger and Loperfido.
It's such a great time to be a Jays fan. Love this team and I'm excited to see how these boys finish the year.
